1st entry of my Grow Diary.
I germinated the seed back in February and then planted in a gallon pot. After the plant outgrew the gallon pot I transferred to a bigger 10 gallon fabric pot. The plant is on week 20 now and should start flowering soon (hopefully haha).
Over the last 20 weeks the only things I've done is add PH'ed water and water it every other day, add Silicon Blast (just about every watering), planted in Ocean Forest soil and then also topped it off again with more Ocean Forest, topped the plant itself when it had 5 nodes, trimmed it up a bit so it's not too bushy, and kill little bugs that try and make this guy their home.
After about 12 weeks or so I did start adding some Big Bloom from Fox Farm to help it along. That's about it so far and I do check on it in the mornings and evening to make sure there are no grasshoppers or anything eating away at it.
I'm not a very experienced cannabis grower and I mostly enjoy learning about the process and then relaxing with the fruits of my labor.
Thanks for checking out my diary and hopefully I can learn more about growing from others on here.
Plant looks like it's starting to flower and it's almost 8' tall now and I'm going to be moving it somewhere where my neighbors can't see it. Totally legal, but they're weird. 😳
Starting to add some extra nutrients since it's been in the same soil since February, but I did a small refresh back in June by adding about 3" of Fox Farm Ocean Forest to top it off. I'm pretty sure it might be too late to transplant and why risk it.
I'm a bit worried that once the buds start to form I'll get little worms (not me the buds) to deal with because this plant is really tall and I'm not. I guess I can use a ladder, but searching for little worms will be a bit risky that high up. 😀
Thanks for reading 💤 ... until next week
Did a transplant from 15 gallon to 25 gallon fabric pot.
Drinking a ton of water lately as the summer blazes on. Approximately 4 gallons a day and to me it seems a bit excessive, so I transplanted to a larger pot.
Noticing some yellow leaves and not too sure if it had to do with small pot or some nutrient deficiencies.
I also moved the plant to an area in the yard that gets more air flow.
Thanks for checking out my grow diary.

Thinned out some of the fan leaves one last time as it heads into flowering. Probably should have done this a week or two ago, but this plant is really bushy and I want as much air flow as I can get.
After transplanting into a bigger pot last week I don't see much stress, so I think it worked out okay.
Plant is still stretching out and getting pretty tall. I think it's taller than Shaq (and better at free throws) now at 7'4" Hopefully all that silica blast that I've been adding will help with the weight of the buds on this guy, once they start forming. Hopefully, that will be really soon.😶
Oh, I added some cal-mag because I had some yellowing leaves towards the bottom of the plant and I'm not sure if that helped it or the transplanting into a bigger pot helped. Either way it seems to have subsided.😅
I also did some preemptive BT spraying on the foliage to help reduce any future worms/caterpillars that will be heading in my direction soon.😀
I think that's it from this week in growing my pot plant.

Did a little bit more defoliation on the upper part of the plant this week. Cutting off a bunch of fan leaves and even some inside branches. Probably my last time doing this except for some random leaves I find with bugs or some other weird shit going on. Like white powder mildew/mold or whatever it was I found.😭 I'll need to address this this week for sure.
Sprayed some BT as preventative maintenance because I know those stupid worms will show up sooner or later. Nothing yet on the worms, but they'll arrive. I do think there was a caterpillar roaming around because of a few chewed up leaves. Nothing major and no sign of the caterpillar.
Feeding this with some fox farm trio, but not too much. Taking it easy with these nutrients and feeding it every other watering.
Not much else to report this week except just watching this plant grow. I just sit in my lawn chair and watch it ... all day. 😎😀
Not a good week for this plant. 😅
I totally fucked up a soap spray solution to help me with some powdery mildew I spotted and it was way too strong (I still have a shit ton to learn). Fried a bunch of leaves, but I think it'll be fine. It's just a bit crunchy on the sides and ends of some of them. ... I guess I will find out.
Did a flush after this and cutback on nutrients this week.
Found a giant grasshopper hangout and eating. He was pretty fat.😎
That's about it for the week.
Not a lot going on. Still growing and flowers are starting to flower. 😎
Put in some yellow sticky paper to help with gnats and there is this fly that keeps on hanging out in the plant. I think it's just one fly and he likes to taunt me and laugh at me whenever I try to kill him. It'll just quietly sit on a fan leaf and watch me. I'll get super close to it and as I take a swipe at it the little shit flies away. I hate that fly. I think it's laying some kind of larvae because I keep finding these tiny black pod type of things every so often.
Everyday I pick off a few leaves that look bad, but nothing major on the defoliation front.
I think the smell is starting to pick up and it seems to be a light sweet smell so far, but I could be wrong.
That's about it. Nothing too exciting and that's how I like it.
Well, another week and still a while to go, but I can kind of see the finish line up ahead. ... Starting to get frosty. 😜
Things this week also started to get a little out of whack with a bunch of yellow leaves and I'm not 100% sure why, but I think it had to do with nitrogen or potassium. I don't know, but I added some Cha Ching from Fox Farm and it seems to have helped her out. Being my second grow season and I'm still trying to learn as much as I can and there is a shit load of information online that can be a bit confusing or just wrong. 😀... It's all part of the journey.
I also did some preventative maintenance by spraying some BT on the plant because I have an issue with a few flies. Hopefully this will help out a bit. Other than that she seems to be doing just fine.
That's all for this week.
✋ I got a question.
I've been using Silica Blast for the whole grow.
Should I keep using it till the end or is there a cut off date when I should stop using it? Like 2 weeks before harvest or something?
Thanks
The week in review!👊
I added probably the last nutrients for this plant because I think it has only a few weeks left. I might do 1 more round.
Doesn't seem to be drinking as much water as of late and there are a bunch of leaves yellowing, so I'm guessing it's just about done. Not sure. Being a noob, sometimes it's just a guessing game. I try and do research online and YouTube, but I'm not at that 100% confident level. In the end it's a plant and try to treat it that way. A magical plant. 😀 😂😲
Plant also seems to be in different stages within itself. Some buds are definitely more along that others and I'm thinking (dangerous) that I'll be chopping down in a few phases, but not sure how that'll go.😉
Still having issues with a few flies. I hate those fuckers.
Other than that I will just wait it out until the buds get a bit fatter and the trichomes are to my liking. Right now the buds are still a bit small.
Well hell.
This has been a good week and I've started my harvesting in a few different phases. Trichomes are cloudy and for me that's good.
Today I chopped off about a 1/3 + of the top part of the plant and did some trimming and washing of the buds. Yes, washing! I've done it before and it didn't seem to really have any effect on the potency of the weed. All I do is I use 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of lemon juice and add that to a 5 gallon bucket of water and dip and kind of stir the bud around to help get rid of all the dust and possibly little bugs and dead bugs and gross shit like that. Then I just have 2 other 5 gallon buckets with fresh clean water to rinse off and then shake the excess water off and hang to dry.
Had to throw away a few branches that had become the victims of bud rot. 😭... It really wasn't that bad, but I just side on the side of precaution and toss out the whole branch.
Cut out the nutrients about 10 days ago and I'll probably harvest the rest sometime next week after I jar up and start the curing process with the other batch.
Other than that this plant is just about done.
Cut the plant down in 3 stages due to the size of it and the last few weeks all I did was add water and sprayed some BT on it and tried to kill the flies. THE FLIES! Those fuckers suck.
Washed the buds and hung to dry. I learned a lot on this grow and by reading others diaries. This site is really helpful.
Anyways, I took some creative liberties with my photos since it was so bright outside today and I really could get a good shot of the plant. Trying to keep it interesting. Next grow I'll have to break out my real camera instead of my phone.😜 After it's all dried up I'll post the weight, but I did end up tossing a good amount of weed out due to the fucking flies. Probably 20-25% in the trash. It doesn't really upset me since this is all for personal use and there should be plenty to go along with a few earlier grows if some auto flowers I are a few months ago.
