GHSC Taste of America - Deep Candy CBD

Welcome to the start of my entry into Green House Seed Company's new contest, Taste of America. I requested their Deep Candy CBD. There is not much information about the genetics on their website. Just "Proprietry High CBD Strain, Low THC Strain". 0.3-0.6% THC/15% CBD/0.5% CBN Should be a great smoke... I started her journey with a cool bath of Bio Enhancer for 24Hrs. Then on to a wet paper towel and into a jiffy bag for 48Hrs. She had a nice 15mm tap root and decided to sow her into a small pot. Doing things slightly different this time. Starting in a smaller pot first. Raising my light higher to control temps better as quite hot at the moment. She seems happy enough. Thank you for visiting my diary...✌️💚

Hello, She is happy. Moved her to 18/6 this week and kept the light at same height and intensity (50%). Another week and she will be ready for transplant. Thank you for visiting my diary.

Hello, Had some amazing progress this week. Been away on holiday. She must be a shy girl as haven't looked at her all week till today and the growth has doubled. Can hardly believe it myself to be honest. Very happy. Can see a little wilting of lower leaves, I'm putting this down to PH as it was a little higher than I'd like. Even though I'm still using deionised water, I am still getting a little rise in my PH weekly. Although, not as much as I had previously experienced. The reservoir is continually oxygenated. Hello, Not a bad week, topped her at the beginning of the week and she has recovered well. Started some mainlining on most branches. Used pipe cleaners as support after seeing another grower use them. Worth a try but seem to work well and don't damage the stems. Think if I used hemp cord again it would damage them, considering how weak they are. Stems are quite weak, although I was a little heavy handed when I started mainlining and snapped a branch fully off. Tried to repair but think it was too soft and didn't take. Removed the remaining of the branch to the main stem. Still keeping the light up high but have increased the intensity by 10% or so. Hard to be exact. So far I'm happy with her. Would prefer to get some silica nutrient to see if that helps the weak stems but at the moment I can't afford it. I may just use some supporting canes to help her when buds start coming through. Hello, Plant is recovering well from her topping and mainlining. Topped more of the top points to allow the rest to catch up. Took away some of the lower bud sites to create more fuel for the top. My weak stem issues have subsided. Couldn't afford some silica nutrient to help but I did increase the light intensity to 70%. The difference is astounding. All branches and stems have hardened up. Could have been the issue from the start, as light is a lot higher than I have had before at this stage. Very happy with her right now.

Hello, Another good week for the Deep Candy CBD. Seems to be lovin' life right now and has started to show flowering pistols. Haven't done that much to her this week. Hello, Been a good week this week. As you can see she is coming along nicely. Gave her bloom nutrients at the end of last week. She has responded well with some nice mycelium just under the surface of the soil. Gave her a little trim as was having an issue with humidity at night. Getting a little high for my liking but have also updated my ventilation. Slightly bigger fan and new filter...Huge difference already. Still having issues with water quality, time to invest in a compact RO unit. I also need a new to start using my camera, rather than my phone to take pictures. The quality difference is astounding. First three pictures were take with a Nikon DLSR. Need a macro lens for it though. The first pic was photo shopped a little to give a bit more clarity. The last four pictures look so whitewashed its unbelievable. Both used in same light conditions. Hello, Another week down for the Deep Candy and she is really happy. Her colour is great and the buds are now starting to fatten up. Looking awesome, if I don't say myself. Used the Nikon this time for all my pics. Apart from a bit of cropping, the pictures looking so much better than from the phone camera... Not so whitewashed! Decent week so this week. Flowers have really started to turn. Might be an early finish but may take her longer for more CBN...Undecided on that as she smells amazing...At first I was smelling a definite candy smell but that has matured to include strawberries. Like those red candy dummies you get at the funfair. Some small defoliation to improve airflow, RH getting a little high but she is looking happy. Thank you for visiting my diary Nanu, Nanu

Another good week. Trichomes are all turning cloudy now. Could be an early finish. Now for the honesty part: Having some issues with light leaks. Found two bananas on top of two colas. Searched the whole plant and can't see any others. Removed them with tweezers and have tried to stop the leaks where I think they are coming from. Has been an issue I thought I had for a while but wasn't completely sure till I saw the evidence. The plant is still really happy and growing well. I'd say at least two more weeks till I harvest. Think I found the reason for my 'nanners' appearing. have been starving her of water the last couple of weeks. Accidentally left the iso valve closed. Oh well, we live and learn. Hopefully she will perk up. Thanks for visiting my diary... Nanu, Nanu...

Hey all, Well the Deep Candy has finished. Currently basking in too high a heat for my liking but will bring that right down for the cure. Have really enjoyed growing this plant. Had a better handle on the nutrients and my light position. The plant itself responded really well to high intense light. Unlike some that enjoy a cooler light at the beginning. She would benefit from silica nutrient. At harvest I noticed the weakness in the stems.... Lesson learned for next time.
