First time using led. Noticed stretching and weren't getting enough light as I started them at 25% light and a distance of 30. So moved light to min distance and set both to 75%. Seem to be loving the extra light.
This is for those of you growmies using LED.... When do you guys usually give em the max dose? Rn I'm sitting at 75% and starting week 3. I think they're doing pretty decent
Depends on hang height obviously, but your diary says 24”.. I’d have that SF1000 at 100% at that height. I highly recommend this app called “Photone” if you have to spend.. it’s quite accurate for giving you a PPFD - which you want at least 500 and closer to 800-1000 in flower..
Gave of small dose of nutes to introduce them to the girls... next week is full force. Doing organic on half and nutes on other half all at different strengths to really see what's happening. I also LST one but idk if I did it correct lol
Wow a long week, experiment definitely started showing differences but also mistakes were made. First I missed a watering a let them get too dry soil starting to stay a dark color and threw me off... But watered and fed anyway but I think because I was using pH drops to test water (didn't know how easy it is to break the meters) I may have made concentration too acidic or soil turning acidic. I don't think there is any nutrient burn just deficiencies (calcium and phosphorus) but I could be wrong. Ordered cal-mag just in case. One thing I've noticed not sure if it is only because 5 gal pots but plants 1 nd 2 looking massive. I may only use 5 gal pots next time but still early to tell. If anyone wants more info on what I'm trying to test or see something I'm doing wrong plz comment. PS soil is waaaay different than hydro lol
Still slowly recovering from pH issues ( I'm assuming) slight stunting but overall they still look like they're doing good. The organic plants continue to amaze me one dose of fish meal and langbeinite and they are almost caught up to tallest bottle fed one... They were the 2 smallest besides the lst ones obviously.. buds are also really starting to thicken up on those two although the ones in 5 gal haven't done to.much with their flowers. We shall see expirement still going strong!
Well first lessons were for sure learned this week. What I thought was a deficiency starting a couple weeks ago was actually early leaf spot. Been trying to defoliate affected leaves and tried a couple sprays but it's definitely got a hold on the babies. Don't think I'll be able to shake it and I'm hoping it's not gonna affect harvest if they even live till then. Wish me luck, hopefully we make it, just 3 weeks to go! Other than that expirement is going ok hard to tell if I had any burn issues. I'm really like the bud site development on the organic plants. The ones with the most organics given and in 5 gal seem to be taking their time to flower all the other ones moving along fine. #3 and #4 I think are not done surprising me.
Another weak closer!! Got some burn on one plant probably last nutrients I give her. The leaf spot is back slowly hopefully won't affect outcome worse than it already has. Other than that buds coming along. Girl of the week is the afghan skunk #4. Huuuge buds forming!! Can't wait to see the end of that one, it came outta no where too!!
Have a variety of weights due to expirement but for the complexity I'm happy with the outcome. Buds have a sweet smell to em which I love one. 1 was even dubbed blueberries. Easy to grow besides my mess ups this strain seems to like a lighter fertilizer regiment. Smoke is pretty good a lighter heavy smoke if that makes sense
Really good smoke, great flavors and smells, really happy with the amount I got even though how much I messed up :p continuing in next expirement. Hopefully I can get even more buds and healthier plants now.that I got a good plan
More Stoney bud of the too it definitely has a punch good flavor can't really pinpoint rn maybe some piney. Good strain maybe not the most stable but glad I gave the heavyweight guys a chance will definitely try another strain from them
Enjoyed doing the experiment. I seen what gave me different results although I may try a light blend of Flora series again this next run. Going mostly organic just trying to tune it in now. Thanks everyone for the help and support this grow diary has helped me tremendously
I've been growing autos in Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil for about a year and a half. If you're using soil that is already filled with nutrients (and even if your not) autos barely need any food. They will burn SUPER easy. I've had grows where I never went over 1/4 strength the entire grow. Certain strains can handle half strength towards the middle of flower but alot of them do great w only 1/4 strength. Otherwise you're gonna burn the piss out of your plants. I would say unless you're using plain soil with nothing in it, keep your nutrient strength at 1/4 strength unless you see the start of deficiencies then you can up the dose.
Also.... autos do NOT do well with overwatering or any other kind of stress. Every time you stress them out, your affecting the overall quality and harvest. With autos you just gotta keep it simple
@JasonMichael420, yes, one thing I found out forsure. I ended up getting scared cause I had burning going on so I stopped but didn't realize it was a deficiency and burn going on at the same time but I was too scared to give more nutrient. Also thought they would finish faster than what they did. But I have a feeling this next one going to go a lot better. When do you usually start to feed your plants? I found with FFOF they started looking hungry before week 4
Hope it goes well for you bud, I'm dealing with my first nitrogen deficiency and it hurts to see them looking ill when they were doing so well, all learning I guess
@Budbuddy84, yeah man learning for sure now I know about this leaf spot and I'll be ready next grow. Be able to pick what I want to defoliate haha but gotta find out what works you know
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Greetings from L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
Thanks everybody this community has been a big help! I don't think I would've done as good without you all! Hope you enjoyed some of my first grow but now it's time to blaze up, see you all next time around
