Getting root growth going before doing any topping or defoliation. Out of the four seedlings, there is a clear favorite. Will veg in aerogarden until after a couple toppings.
Germinated 4 seeds with paper towel method. When tails popped (about 3 days), planted all 4 into rockwool cubes I shaped for the aerogarden pods on 5/29/2021.
Only keeping one to be transplanted into the tent. May the best seedling win!
Got her moved from the aerogarden to the tent. To try to keep my water Temps in check, wrapped reflective insulation around the bucket, and put reflective take on the lid. Air pump is outside of the tent
With weekly feedings, I will be cleaning and swapping the resevoir, and airstones. Trying to maintain white roots throughout this grow.
To keep my water resevoir temperature below 70°F, I use frozen water bottles with a twisty tie around the neck. That way I can hang it on the side of my bucket and I don't have to reach into the water to get it out. I swap out a bottle every morning, and every evening.
Transitioned to flower. Discovered a cal-mag deficiency that had been developing. Realized I had been giving it about half of what it needed. Think that should be good now 🤞
Second week of 12/12 light schedule. Have definitely seen the stretch. Has already almost doubled in height. Mind you, I kept it pretty low from the start with all the LST and topping. But starting to get hopeful. Was worried it would be a little one. Since this is my first seed grow, I'm pretty happy. It's all a learning process right 😊
Had to try bucket in a bucket to keep resevoir cool. Was just putting frozen water bottles directly into reservoir every few hours. However, my roots were suffering because of it. Hoping this helps
Starting to see pistils and bud sites developing. I'm guessing since my manifold/mainline technique wasn't on point, on top of the decapitation of two main colas, is why it's so uneven. Next one will be better, but still hopeful for the harvest from this one. The nodes are so stacked, should be good. 🤞
The stretch has been real! Was worried it would be a short plant when I switched to 12/12, but this past week has proven that wrong. I'm starting to think it will only be an ounce harvested, but learned a ton from this grow for the next one regardless.
Finally found a way to tie down the stems but still having it mobile for daily water/pH checks, fills and the weekly resevoir cleaning. Command strip hooks and soft rubber ties. Put the hooks directly on the lid so it's still mobile! Was able to make the canopy more even, created a lot more light penetration through the middle, and stabilized the base. I think this will work for most of flower and I will get the plant yo yo's if they start getting top heavy.
Starting to smell so good! Noticed some issues after this week's feeding. Been dealing with a slight cal mag deficiency on and off the entire grow, so that showed again this week, along with nitrogen toxicity and possible potassium deficiency. Just trying to dial it in. Hope to get it all resolved for the last few weeks of flower. Shes definitely starting to plump up the buds!
Final week! Started the flush. We go out of town for EDCLV on Thursday, will be gone almost a week so I have to chop before we go. Trichomes are cloudy though, so should be okay. Hoping to get some Amber this last week. Will go into total darkness on Monday and chopping Thursday. Will dry the plant whole for a slow dry. 🤞
