Germination went easy using jiffy pellets approximately 3 days. Setting this grow up for a SOG under the new 500 watt CMHs from growers choice. I have Sweet Seeds Jack 47 XL Auto starting as well but I'm going to do them in a separate journal. I grow No Till Method. I provide my plants nothing but R/O water and top dress with nutrients. The soil is my own recipe something between super soil and True Living Organics Master Mix. I supplement approximately 15% extra calcium in my soil so I can use R/O water without using a liquid nutrient to supplement the calcium. My room is an open 16 x 16 room which is just easier to keep cool over a smaller tent with intense lights in it. Walls are lined with panda film to help create the clean white look as well as reflect any light back towards the center of the room where my plants are. Yes there are 18 plants under the 500 watt CMH. Growers Choice recommends it for a 3 x 3 area for maximum yield. Since I don't mind a slightly lower yield for the plants on the outer perimeter I'm maximizing the the 4 x 4 space the light can handle for vegging. 2 plants from each strain the jack 47 xl auto and the dark devil auto will be at the perimeter of both of these light just because I hate wasting seeds and assumed 1 or 2 may fail germination I'm gonna see what they pull added in as well. My philosophy is no waste.
Plants are growing strong. Got a 100 gallon tank for water supply. It takes to long waiting for my R/O water to fill my 4 gallon sprayer so this tank can get filled I aerate the water and just fill my sprayer as needed. Also got the botanicare low tide 4x4 trays
So I have noticed though I cannot directly wet the area around the stem of the babies at the moment. When watering at the base of the plant they all get slightly droopy, so I water around it leaving the center dry. And it absorbs the water as needed. I'm doing this because if I didn't the pots would dry by the time of the next day and want a pretty solid root ball so keeping the edges of these fabric pots wet is a must
Grows going easy. Girls are growing fast. They are beginning to show pistols at the internodes. The dark devil you can definetly see that there's a couple different phenos. Some are slightly shorter and a lighter green while the darker green ones are slightly taller. One of them does seem some what runtime but she still growing well.
These girls stretched and stretched over this week.im letting the light stay closer to stop that stretch. Some internodes have way to much space between them but maybe that's a trait of this plant. Some of the girls are turning purple. I will Def get better pics when the girls start really filling in and the true beauty can be captured.
Right now her fragrance is much softer then the jack 47 xl autos but it's nice and sweet.
Girls are growing well. They are really beginning to fill in. Many are bringing in the purple like they should. The pic included is of one of the females with the darker purple. They still have approximately 25 days or so to go. Pretty happy so far with these girls and how easy and well they are growing.
So just like the Jack 47 XL Auto these girls have been super easy to grow. At the moment like 65% are purple the other 35% are green. The purple plants have a sweeter more subtle tone to her while the green one are slightly more pungent not as sweet. VPD on these girls are right around 1.2 - 1.4. 1 plant out of the 18 plants for both Dark Devil and Jack 47 XL were runs compared to the others. These both have been moved to the edge of the grow and put on top of 5 gallon buckets to help them get more light. They won't yield much but will be nice none the less.
Smell is getting stronger. Trichomes are all over. Because this is my first time growing her I treated the jack 47xl auto and these girls the same at first and the lack of experience with these girls will show in the final yield. As well my soil was a little strong for these girls but.on point for the jack 47 xl autos
