So after our seedling germination, all 19 plants (10x Critical 2.0 and 9x Pineapple Chunk) have remained in their germination home while I have gone about building a new, sealed flower room, and while we waited for our Amherst Sour Diesel's to finish flowering in our previous flower space. The building has, without surprise, gone overtime as construction always does, and so all 19 of our new plants subsequently got a month of pre-veg in them, in the dome and under a 20W fluorescent tube. - (Not ideal, but we had to keep them safe while all the madness around us was going on and until we were finally able to get them into their new veg home.)
I am ecstatic to say that we have finally entered the concluding stages of the building, and it is time to prep the new girls for transplant and their awaiting 7-8 weeks of veg!
Let's get back into the swing of things as we were, firstly with a recap of the previous month:
- We planted all 20 seeds on the 23/07/2021. 10x Critical 2.0 from Dinafem, and 10x Pineapple Chunk from Barney's Farm. All 10 Crits germinated, while all the Pineapple Chunk's went missing (yes, went missing...,) and consequently led to me trying to replace all 10 seeds. Unfortunately, we were only able to replace 9 seeds, hence the reason we are on 19 seeds in total. The 9 new Pineapple Chunk seeds were started 2 weeks after the original run started with all 20 seeds, hence the reason they are smaller than the Critical 2.'s at this point.
- It is for the above reason why we started the new PC seeds in jiffy pellets, for safer and easier transplanting when we got to the stage that we currently find ourselves in. Because they all have root system 2 weeks less developed than the Critical 2.0's, we can't risk damaging an underdeveloped root system, and so placed them in the jiffy's for safe and easier transplanting.
- At this stage, we have all 19 plants labelled, as we begin the real pheno-hunting process and need to keep maticulous records of every individual plant. 1-10 for the Critical 2.0's, and 1-9 for the Pineapple Chunk's.
(Image 1-3): 15/08/2021 - 25 days after planting Critical 2.0 seeds / 6 days after germinating new Pineapple Chunk seeds.
(Image 4-7): 30/08/2021 - (Today, 15 days later) 40 days after planting Critical 2.0 seeds / 21 days after planting new Pineapple Chunk seeds.
(Image 8): 30/08/2021 - (Today, 15 days later) This one shows one of the Critical 2.0 seeds which decided to "top itself." At first, I suspected it was a dud, but waited and now see that it's simply a genetic mutation.
Let's go!
Hi guys! Thanks for the wishes! Will keep this one nice and meticulously updated. It's about time I migrate from my old school excel sheets and onto a proper interactive platform such as this one. Stoked!
