Budders I soaked the seeds overnight in water with about .5 Tsp of Real Grower's Recharge per one gallon of water, then soaked the peat pellets in the liquid and planted 8 seedlings. I misted the dome and now have the seedlings germinating in a dark place. I will give an update once they begin to sprout.

All 8 seeds from WeedSeedExpress that were planted have germinated.

The seedlings were getting very long, with a couple falling over, so I decided to go ahead and transplant them into their two gallon fabric pots. I made a mix of 80% Ocean Forest soil from Fox Farms and 20% perlite, transplanted plants, and fed a mixture of Real Grower's Recharge, along with some CaliMagic and ArmorSi.
This grow will be different, as I will be experimenting with Real Grower's Mondo One and Done Garden Food. I am one of the lucky 100 people who were able to order this product for the price of shipping so people could run trials to see how well it works for growing. So, I mixed 36 grams of this plant food per each two gallon fabric pot, but only for the four plants on the left side of the grow tent. I will feed the four plants on the right side of the tent the General Hydroponics regimen that I used for my last grow. I am interested how the Mondo One and Done will perform next to General Hydroponics. If it works well, I will probably use Mondo for my future grows.

I removed the two T5 florescent lights and dropped down the two Bloom Plus 150 watt LED lights about 20 inches above the tops of the plants dimmed down to 50%. I also added 2 60 watt Red and Blue LED clip lights to add supplemental lighting, turned on only the blue lights to help keep the nodes close, and set them about 8 inches above the plants.

I must remind that the 4 plants on the left are getting the Mondo One and Done. The plants on the right are getting the GH schedule listed above. All plants are getting ArmorSi and CaliMagic, and Real Grower's Recharge, every other day.

Budders The grow looks good so far. The four plants to the right are being fed every other day with the General Hydroponics nutrients listed above. The four plants to the left have Real Grower's Mondo, and get some ArmorSi and CaliMagic every other day. All plants get Real Grower's Recharge watered in once a week.
The blue LEDs have really helped to keep plant nodes very close. I will perform the first FIMing tomorrow.

Budders These girls are growing great. I FIMed and defoliated them a couple of days ago, and decided to flip them into flower today, as all of them are about 12" to 14" tall. I also sprayed them with some Regalia Biofungicide spray yesterday.

I must give credit to these wonderful genetics from WeedSeedExpress.com. I vegged for a total of 26 days, and they were all about 14" or more tall. They are also beginning to become more fragrant, which is very welcome, because the Bruce Banner I grew last time had no smell really until the nugs were cured. I must say, these girls are growing like weeds, lol. I really look forward to harvest and cure.
08/27/2021
The four plants on the left side of the tent have 72 grams of Mondo/Grow Dots plant food from Real Growers, the same guys who make Recharge, so I give them a gallon of water every other day with just Armor Si silica and CaliMagic. The four plants on the right side get a gallon every other day with the General Hydroponics nutrients listed above. As a side note, Scotty Real from The Dude Grows show said he was informed by his lawyer that he would not be able to use the name "Mondo", so he is calling them "Grow Dots" right now. Who knows what the final name will be, lol.
This grow is proof that you do not need seven or more weeks of veg growing indoors if you have the proper genetics, lighting, nutrients, and basic grow conditions, including paying very close attention to the VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit). If your environment is really dialed in, and you still need more than seven weeks of veg, you should probably look for different genetics.

I put a third fan underneath the canopy along with 2 T5 grow lights. I had one T5 under the canopy of my last grow, which I think definitely helped develop the lower buds. I also removed a few more large fan leaves.

Sprayed plants with weekly application of Regalia Biofungicide from Marrone Bio Innovations. This spray is made from the Giant Knotweed plant, which helps prevent powdery mildew.

Budders Three of these plants were almost four foot tall, so I added a third layer of trellis netting and bent three of the tops over, underneath the netting to make a more even canopy. I don't expect these girls to stretch much more. The buds are really starting to develop. It looks like I should have a good yield, as there are definitely more buds developing compared to my last grow of Bruce Banner.

Budders I once again had to tuck the tallest tops under the trellis netting. I sprayed the plants with their weekly spray of Regalia Biofungicide from Marrone Bio, so even though my plants are quite bushy, I do not expect problems with PM, as air constantly moves, humidity is kept relatively in check, and these genetics are know to be very mold resistant. The best buds will be kept for flower, and the lower buds left for live rosin concentrate.

The four plants on the left side were given Gro Dots, and the four plants on the right are being fed the GH nutrients listed above. All plants receive ArmorSi and CaliMagic, along with a weekly dose of Recharge. I also spray all plants weekly with foliar spray of Regalia Biofungicide from Marrone Bio.
09/23/2021
Today I fed the nutrients listed above, removing the Liquid KoolBloom, and replacing it with GH KoolBloom Dry. I also exposed the plants to two hours of UVB light with my T5 UVB florescent grow light. Currently holding a temp between 82°f - 84°f, and between 62%-64% humidity, keeping a VPD around 1.5.

Budders The buds are still packing on weight. I checked the trichomes and most are now cloudy, so I am thinking it will be another week or two before harvest. I would estimate I will get about 12 ounces out of this five square foot space, which I will be very happy with. I have four more Chiquita Banana seeds, and some Symbiote seeds from Dark Horse Genetics, so I think I will grow four of each strain next grow. I am extremely happy at how these Chiquita Banana plants are growing. Absolutely awesome genetics from #WeedSeedExpress.
10/15/2021
It is difficult to see, but I have about four colas that have given up, and can no longer support their weight. I really look forward to seeing what the actual
harvest weight may be, but it is not a huge concern, as most of this harvest will be just for myself, and a couple close friends.
10/16/2021
Some of the buds have become so heavy that I need to support them. It is hard to tell by the pictures, but some of these buds are huge, and very compact and heavy. I am looking forward to seeing what the final dry bud weight will be. Very solid genetics from WeedSeedExpress for sure!

Budders I checked the trichomes with my small USB microscope camera, and most of the trichomes are cloudy, with just a few beginning to turn amber. I am thinking it will be harvest time by this time next week.
Chiquita Banana from WeedSeedExpress is an amazing, wonderful strain to grow. It grew very quickly, and produced quite a few very large, resinous buds that smell very sweet, like very sweet fruit, candy, and a hint of fresh green banana smell. I have tried a couple of sample buds that was dried very quickly, and it has a really nice smooth, sweet taste. I will give a better review of the smell, taste and effects after it is properly dried and cured.

Budders I decided to harvest halfway through week 9 of flower, as it looked like about 15% or more of the trichomes were amber color. The total weight of the four plants that got the Real Grower's Grow Dots was around 26 ounces, and the four plants on the right that got the General Hydroponics nutrients was around 29 ounces. So, I must lower my dry bud estimated weight to be around a half a pound. I was thinking it would turn out to be a little more, but I am very happy with the quality of this Chiquita Banana strain and grow, and think that the yield is not bad for a small 20"x36" tent.
I will give a final update after the dry and cure is finished.
It was very surprising, I ended up with the same exact bud weight for both strains. I will say that the buds that were given the GH were larger and more compact, but I think this is to be expected. I would use Grow Dots as a replacement for a three part nutrient system, and still add silica, cal mag, and things like Liquid KoolBloom, Ripen, or any other bud enhancers like Green Planet's Massive, which I plan to try next grow. I am fairly happy overall with this grow, but I feel I have also learned lessons that I will take into account into my next grow. A sneak peak, I will be growing two Humboldt Seed Co strains next grow. I am waiting on them to show up in the mail in the next couple of days. Can we say Pineapple Muffins and Jelly Ranchers? Lol. Sounds sweet and tasty. We shall see.
WSE chiquita Banana is an awesome strain,,,did one awhile ago and have 1 in my greenhouse with WSE Purple Haze...great genetics....good luck with the grow....enjoy.
Luck with your grow👍
When you grow photoperiods in your tent you can veg your plant as long as you want.
Genetics has very little to do with how long YOU choose to veg your plants or how big you want
your plant or plants to grow, of course good genetics and good food helps your plant to thrive.
If you veg a plant, for example, for 10-12 weeks and then flip to flower the plant will almost double in
size and produce just as much as 3-4 plants that were flipped at 5-6 weeks.
In my opinion if your going to flip at 4-5 weeks you may as well grow autos because you can get
just as big of a yield in 8-9 weeks from seed as you can from a short veg. period with photos.
So it all boils down to personnel preference and how big of a monster you want to grow,
I don't want to come across as pushy, but I had to respond.
have a great day👊
HI@northernMike, that is cool that you grow other plants. I have downsized, but just a few years ago I would grow many different types of heirloom tomatoes and other vegetables. I also had a mushroom grow house where I would grow oyster and lions mane mushrooms. We had a hurricane a few years ago, and I gathered up as much live oak and water oak trees that were downed from the storm in the Inlet close to where I live as I could, and took them to a man an hour or so inland who has a store that sells wood pellets for BBQ grills. He also had a machine to make pellets, so I had him grind about 500 lbs or more of wood a couple of times to use for substrate for my mushrooms. I don't want to go into what was involved in sterilizing and inoculating my substrate, but at one time I had over 200 four pound bags, which would be just under 2 kilogram bags growing at any given time. I was able to produce a couple of pounds of mushrooms a day, but my downfall was the pests, my grow set up, and not having a proper regimen for pests. There were other factors involved, but I ended up loosing my grow space. I lost a ton of money, and also learned a ton of lessons.
After seeing how my state will approach legalizing weed, I decided to say fuck the government, and grow my own. This was also because of frustration trying to purchase good weed on the black market. It is totally hit or miss. Compared to the homegrown that we now smoke, I would say it was mostly a miss, though I did have some brief moments of having a connect that could get some fire from Colorado. So, I now have a small 20 inch by 36 inch tent. You are Canadian, so I have no idea how to convert that to metric. It is a total of five square feet, so I still don't know what that converts to, lol. Anyway, I grew some tomatoes this summer, and gave a few to the neighbors, but I am now growing some heirloom radishes and some wasabi arugula. This thread has gotten long, and I must drink more beer and smoke more dope, so I will bid you ado. Till the next go around, keep a growin and a smokin😉
P.S. I forgot to mention why I wanted to speak to you. I noticed that you said that you keep your temperature at 24c, which would be 75.2 degrees F, and that you are also using LED lights. In my humble opinion, this temperature is way too low. This will certainly hinder optimal growth during the vegetative cycle, and even the flower cycle. LED lights are much different from HPS or other lights previously used. The leaf temperature offset is completely different, because LED lights don't emit UV light. Before with HPS, 24c, or 75 degrees F would be perfect, because the leaf temperature offset would be so different, and the leaf temperature under those lights would read about 82 degrees F, event though the temp of the room was 75 degrees F. So, with LED lights, the Leaf Temperature Offset is much, much lower. So now with LED lights, it is imperative that you keep temperatures around 82 degrees F, or 28c, with humidity around 62% to keep that perfect VPD for flower. If you would like a guide for VPD, check out the link below from the Pulse Grow website:
https://pulsegrow.com/blogs/learn/vpd-charts-in-fahrenheit-and-celsius-with-leaf-temperature
Last thought, I would suggest checking out The Dude Grows Show if you don't already. I have learned some much from this show. Here is link to a cool show about the proper VPD for perpetual grows, but there is some really good info in there. There are other shows where they discuss VPD, and why it is so important to maximize a plants growth potential. For me, I use it to make my plants grow, flower, and produce as quickly as possible. You master this concept, and you will see huge results, I promise.
www.youtube.com/watch
Hi@northernMike, I have had my eye on Strawberry Banana, and will be very interested to see how your grow progresses and what you think about the strain. I understand about getting other weed mail order. I live in a prohibition state on the south east coast of the US, but I happen to know of someone in New York who has been supplying Manhattan with weed for more than a decade. He is now expanding and going legal since the legalization in New York, New Jersey and Delaware. Sometimes it was very hit and miss, and I agree that there is nothing like homegrown. But, I will say I got some Strawberry Banana from him, and so far it is my favorite strain, and I have been smoking for over 25 years.
I forgot to add that I think your style of growing is cool as well. Mr. Cunuks Grow just did about two or three videos where he did the exact same thing. He said he would probably not do it again though, lol. I think he was talking about the fact that he Monster cropped it before, and it took so long to grow and fill out the space. We will see how yours goes. I have a feeling I will be smoking while you are still growing, lol. That is the east coast in me, got to give you some shit😜
As far as ways to grow, I think everyone should grow the way the want to grow. Growing for me is therapeutic, no mater what the plant. And as long as someone is trying to grow something and enjoying themselves, that is all that matters to me. The reason I grow the way I do is because I have a very small grow tent, and I grow in a prohibition state, so it is very important for me to grow and harvest as quickly as possible, while maximizing harvest. Also, I purposely choose genetics that are very resistant to pests and mold, prefer hot and humid climates, and perform very well grown in the Sea Of Green method. I believe you will understand why I do this once this diary is complete, and will see I am maximizing my 5 SQFT in the least amount of time possible. I don't believe I am shortchanging the yield, terpene profile, or yield. I will be utilizing my UV2 T5 bulbs the last three weeks of flower for a couple of hours every other day to boost Trichome production. I also make sure the microbes in my soil are well fed and replenished with a weekly dose of Recharge. I also give a weekly application of Regalia Biofungicide to help prevent powdery mildew. Also, something really huge that I definitely believe and adhere to is keeping proper VPD during all phases of growth. I keep about a 1.1 VPD for veg, and then really try to make sure my VPD is always around 1.4-1.5, with plenty of air circulation. So, I try to keep a temp of about 82 degrees F, and about 62% humidity. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how our grows turn out. I will says this, Budders only grows the Dankest Dank, lol. I have briefly checked out some of your grows, and you can definitely lay the frost on the buds as well😉. Take it easy.
Hi@northernMike, I flipped mine this quickly because I have a small tent without much room above, and these plants are growing very quickly. Genetics is absolutely huge, period. Also environment is huge.
If your genetics and environment suck, forget about it. You will more than likely have shitty plants that will absolutely need more time to veg, no matter what nutrients or microbes you have in your soil. Also, you will rarely see any large commercial grows veg more than 8 weeks, 9 tops, and they have all the overhead room you need. It is just my opinion, but the only time it really makes sense to veg 10 or 11 weeks inside is if you are trying to grow huge plants and have the room and space for it, or if you are doing some crazy SCROG training. Anyway, growing is very subjective, with a million ways to get to the final goal. No offense taken, we just have different opinions.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Greetings from L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
