So got the package for the contest "Taste of USA" by Green House Seeds. The package was awesome, thank you so much GHSC team.
As you can see I'll be growing this strain in hydroponics inside a 60x60 grow tent.
There will be a lot of "first-time" things I want to test on this growth.
This will be my first-time GHSC strain, nutrients, and first-time photoperiodic strain.
Also, I'd like to use toping and scrog first time as well.
Later I'm also planning to make and use some soda & yeast DIY C02 Generator.
Hope this will be a great grow/harvest for me, and an interesting diary for everyone.
First week of nutrients started. 0.6 g/l GHSC Grow Powder.
update: some problem occured. new leaves got yellow. dropped ppm to 400 from 700. ph 5.8. looks better now hope it will recover.
EC is crazy high for this stage, example is i max out at 1.4-1.5 in peak flower with huge plants. That needs about 1.0 EC and probably get away with 0.9. Also raise light for a few days till recovered. Ph and everything else looks good although raise it to 5.8 just to rule that out.
Feel free to check my hydro diaries to get a idea of my EC levels, less is more sometimes brother👍
So think it is almost recovered and looks better now. ppm still 400 so i didn't add any more nutrients for now. ph down to 5.8 again.
update: topping done. also full reservoir change. ppm up to 500. nutrients down to 0.33 per liter.
for now it's going well i think. full res change. had low humidity problem - under 30 %. did some towel & water bowl thing and it works ok. adding another 5-7%.
also did another topping on 4 branches. so there will be 8 main stem.
have to leave the plant in this condition next 7 days. hope it will be ok when i arrive.

Back home.
All 8 branches looking well. Thay have grown fast during this 7 days.
The roots look healthy and white. This week want to try not to change full res. Just going to add some nutrients so that the ppm goes to 600. Let's see how it will work.
Also did some lst on every branch. Trying to make them as horizontal as possible for now. Hope to start scrog next week.
So finally arrived at flowering stage.
light cycle changed to 12/12. and nutrients change to hybrids powder.
plant looks healthy and the roots are white and healthy as well.
decided not to do scrog. sadly the box is small (60x60x160 cm). and after lst the branches are touching all the walls already. so I don't think scrog will work here.
also decided not to do soda & yeast CO generator. as discovered on the internet it must have some really bad smell. can't try that at home sadly.
Had some interesting week. got new box. built it on balcony. much bigger than previous one. 120 x 120x 300 cm.
So no more height problems. but now having temperature problem. at nights it goes too low 15-16 degrees Celsius. will need to add some kind of heater.
did full res change. hybrids powder to 0.8 per liter. ppm up to 700. ph 6.
also another thing, almost 2 weeks on 12/12 light schedule and still no pistils. hope they will come out soon.
update (02.10.21): added bruder lamp. still having some temperature problems. night 15 degrees, day 19 degrees. humidity 70%.
refilled with 5 liter of water from last res change. ppm down to 620.
Things going pretty well so far. Pistils started to show up.
temperature raised as well. having up to 20-21 degrees during day time.
also started greenhose feeding booster. tds meter is not working ok anymore. going to get new one. ppm should be around 700-800. ph 6.
update: added linus light bulb, 40w, 3000k.
Flowering goes slowly not much to do. didn't do full water change this time. just added some nutes to raise ppm up to 700 again.
also added thermoregulator for bruder light bulb. it will turn off automatically at 20 degrees and turn back on at 15 degrees.
buds getting full slowly.
bought battery operated water pump, it made life easier lol.
full res change done. ppm up to 750. ph down to 6. roots look healthy but couldn't take a picture, not easy anymore to raise plant with on hand to show them.
full res dump again.
ppm up to 900.

a few words about GHSC nutes.
it is just amazing. first time i'm using it. no need to take 50 different bottles. u just have 2 or 3 powders and thats it. all u need is to keep it simple ^^
more about it in review after harvest.
also temperature is dropping lower and lower, winter is coming.
UPDATE:
as it seems having N toxicity and MG deficiency. dumped res , decreased hybrids powder to 0.4 g/l , also had to use calimag 0.8 ml/l. hope it recovers soon.
Hello growers.
can anyone give me some advice please.
leaves seem to be dark green and edges are more light yellow, with little brown spots on them.
what could be the reason and how can i fix it?
Hi there Grileon, that's classic Mg deficiency, that's exactly how it looks in a text book. Normally you always want to be adding calmag to the tank. One more thing : i see some N toxicity happening, especially on the plant with the "dark green" 'shiny' leafs. You might want to fix both issues as soon as possible. Hope this helps ! 🚀
Full tank change one last time. Flush week starts, no nutrients this time, just pure water. And did defoliation as well.
To summarize, still didn't get big and fat buds as I wanted.
Had potassium and calcium deficiencies, but not too much I think. also som N toxicity.
But I blame the light more. It's really good quality light, just not enough for this box.
So Dark Phoenix was harvested. Great strain from GHSC, and amazong nutrients from them. Was a great experience.
I wanted the buds to be much bigger but I think this is almost maximum with this light.
