coming up on day 21 from sprout. in the middle of last week I made sure to check that the light was 12 inches from plants.
They're still growing happily. I'm still a little sad about whatever is going on with the Purple Kush CBD. (Future Grump: yup, I'll figure it out in a day or two.)
This is the
7/28 - Bottom watered a bit. I don't want to overwater. Turned the light up a notch (up to around 400-500ish PAR). This is the first day I noticed a smell in the tent.
7/31 - I'm overwatering. That's why the Purple Kush CBD is sad. It was a slow accumulation of water in the soil from the previous waterings. I realized that the soil is holding on to way more water than I thought. The pots felt light, but then I don't have an dry pot around to check. Sticking a skewer through the dirt, I can see where it's still coming out wet. Began withholding water, as I don't think there's anything else I can really do short of transplanting (eek.) to let them dry out.
@Growing_With_Friends, these are all autos. so plant em, give em light and water (at a constant schedule basically) and they grow thru life automatically.
i chose to go with autos for my first run because i didn't want to deal with changing light schedule and stuff. i wanted a harvest of some sort, and decided that autos would get me there, and also give me a chance to just try out a "super soil" growing technique. i'm going to do autos on my next run, to try to apply what i learned this time and see improvement. i will eventually get to photoperiod plants because they look fun, and it's not so weird now that i've done at least one grow.
in hindsight on autos, and having only read about photos, it feels right now, like autos are less work and less forgiving of imperfect conditions, whereas photos can be a little slower, but because they're slower and you have a natural "recover from mistakes" point in between veg and when you decide to flip to flower, they might be more work but more forgiving, because you have time to adjust and fix things, and let your plant heal/grow/recover along the way. make sense?
Looks awesome man, my first autos are definitely not going to be the biggest either, but it’s not always about yield, I prefer quality over quantity.
Plus, whatever happened this grow will teach you what and what not to do next time :)
The AK47 is a humble producer! Enjoy your harvest bro! Nice grow! I’m doing a x4 grow! including GOD’s GIFT. Check out my GHSC CHEM BRIDE Diary! Thanks!
Great diary, it’s been very helpful.
I’ve just started a similar grow using the Coast of Maine soil and amendments. Now I have a good idea of what to watch out for.
You’re doing a really good job for your first grow! You haven’t killed any of them! Lol
But seriously, it’s looking like you’ll have a decent harvest. I’ll be following!
Amazing grow! Really good job dude! I wish you the best results with the most delicious buds!
Nice to see your journals! I will drop by some times to check your progress!
Feel free to come by and say hello!
Happy growing 🥦🤩
