This is my first ever grow. Im using sunshine #4 soil and am not planning on using any nutrients other than big bloom. I have one more seed that is germinating so hopefully I will be able to harvest three plants. I still have leftover soil so I'm thinking about getting a few more seeds of a different strain. If you have any advise for me please leave a comment below
Thinking about getting fox farms trio and starting feeding in the next week or two. I already have a little big bloom however I am not sure if its worth investing in more nutrients.
The first plant is growing nicely, however one plant hasn’t really grown at all in the past week, I’m not sure what might be wrong with it. Im leaving now for 11 days and having a friend water it for me. I have been watering a little more than every other day and am wondering if that is too much. I usually wait till soil is dry for at least a half inch before watering again and I don't water very heavily. I will start feed with FF big bloom and start LST as soon as I get back.
Just got back from vacation for 11 days an had a friend watering the plant. They grew a ton since I left. Im a little bummed they are flowering already because their veg growth isn't very big and it is looking like they will have low yield. Any tips on how to get more colas and higher yield would be greatly appreciated. I started a little LST, bending the main stalk just a little to allow for more sunlight. I would've started sooner had I not been away but oh well. I will start LST on other branches soon and will also start feeding with big bloom in the next watering.
The 1st and 3rd plant are definitely flowering now, the first is further in than the 3rd however the 3rd plant is bigger. All of them are definitely getting bigger and the lower branches are coming outward. The middle plant is still much smaller however I think its now beginning to grow at a normal pace and will begin flowering in a week or two. I've been noticing small bugs on the plants as well as small holes in a leaf or two. I'm thinking about spraying it with some kind of organic pesticide, however I not sure yet whether it is needed or what I would use. Ive heard neem oil works.
Last week I started noticing small yellow spots and holes in some of the lower leaves. I think it was caterpillars because I saw one on a plant. I also started seeing some webs at the top of the plants which is probably spider mites but Ive also seen a few normal spiders on the plants so I don't know. I sprayed them down with spinosad and now they seem to be doing better. I'm a little worried because I'm going to be leaving for almost 2 weeks in 5 days and I'm sure I can find someone to water them however I'm not sure about keeping track of pests. I'm also not sure quite how far away they are from being done with flowering so hopefully they don't finish before I'm back. It'll be sad not seeing them bulk up. Oh well.
Last day ill be seeing them for 2 weeks. Hopefully they don't finish flowering before I'm back. also hopefully no pests will attack them, I sprayed them down with some more spinosad today. The trichomes are much more noticeable now and there really starting to pack on weight. wish me luck
My friend is still watering it, I will be home in 7 days. Haven’t been giving it any nutrients, just strait hose water, hopefully it still produces good flower. The middle plant is getting super tall. I’m looking forward to training it as soon as I get home.
just got back from vacation, super happy to be back with the plants. I noticed they had a couple strings of web so I gotta watch out for these spider mites. The 1st plant is a way different pheno than the other two and has much more airy/leafy buds covered in frost. I haven't looked for amber trichomes yet but I think it will be ready to harvest in about a week. The 2nd plant just seems to keep gettin g taller. I did a bunch of LST on it today so by the time it starts fully flowering it should have a nice shape. the 3rd plant has super dense buds and looks a little further than the 1st from being finished. I'm super excited for harvest even though the yield won't be very big. I'm hoping to get about an ounce from each plant but I'm not really sure. lmk if that sounds reasonable.
I cut the tops down from two of them. The first may not have been fully ready however the spider mites won't stop shooting webs all over my plants so it would be better to harvest sooner than later. The other branches are less developed on both of them but I will probably cut them down sometime in in the next week or two. The middle plant is still far from harvest however that is the one the mites are attacking the most. I can clearly see a bunch of leaf damage and I'm taking off webs every day to keep them from building up. Hopefully I will be able to harvest before the plant dies and or before it is covered in webs. Also as of now I am drying them in a shoe box outside(because I heard drying inside stinks up your whole house for weeks) so hopefully it doesn't degrade the quality too much or get mold. I might be able to put them in my friends shed but I'm still seeing what's up.
cut down the 1st and 3rd plant. I was considering cutting downs the 2nd due to spider mites but I think I will ride it out another week. I mostly just want to watch as the plant gets more and more purple. It could easily go another 2 weeks if there were no mites but we will see. I've just started curing some of it and it kind of smells like hay as of now. I'm not sure if thats normal in the beginning because the chlorofill is breaking down but hopefully it goes away.
The cold seems to have been keeping the spider mites away however its starting to get warm again. It's also been making the leaves and buds turn purple. I harvested the top which seemed to be more ready than the rest. It maybe could have waited a week however as humidity increases I'm getting more worried about but rot. I'm excited to finish this grow and way out my final yield, I think within the next week it will be done. This plant seems to be taking almost a month longer than the others, however it's worth it because the yield seems much higher. It's looking like I will have 3 ounces total yield. The buds from the other two are curing right now. I'm not sure why but one of them smells like hay. I hope that goes away as curing progresses.
Finally finished. Will update with dry weight in a few days. I have just left the first plant out and it has started revegging so I think i will just continue to leave it out and water it every now and then and see what happens. Overall it seems to have turned out great. I think I will start a new grow in s couple months, ill talk about the details in the harvest update .
Overall pretty easy grow. Plant number 1 and 3 finished pretty quick however the last one took a few more weeks although well worth it for the larger yield. Struggled a little toward the end of first two plants with spider mites and towards the end of the 3rd with aphids however overall no too big of an issue, I just had to pull a could strings of web off every few days. They did not yield quite as much as I would have hoped but it was my first time growing and I had someone else take care of them for over 3 weeks so what can I say. I feel like I should not have lst'd the first two plants as much but I guess you learn from your mistakes. I'm now about 3 weeks into curing the first two plants and they taste great and are pretty potent. The first plant is much more heavy on the sativa side and had more airy bud that smell like lemons. The other two are slightly more indica leaning. Very dense. One smells great, smelling earthy with fruit undertones, while the other, even 3 weeks into cure smells like straight hay.
Plant 1 yielded 17.3 grams
Plant 2 yielded 15.6 grams however around 3 grams were lost too mold
Plant 3 yielded 29.7 grams
Good first grow overall, not too many issues, pretty satisfied with results. I will start my next grow in December. For my next grow i'm planning to grow a clone and use no till methods with cover crops. I will veg it for a month or so under a 45 watt LED indoors. Then I will put it outdoor in a greenhouse, supplementing lighting on very overcast days. I will finish the grow just before april, before the days begin to get long again. Will probably be high maintenance but thats kind of the fun of it. Will probably grow some kind of OG or cookies.
dude they really picked up! you're going to have a great harvest compared to my single plant! all three are probably taller than my one ended up
i've got two more in bigger pots about 2 weeks in, debating topping the heartier one
i think i wanna do girl scout cookies or green crack autos next, or try to find a good OG kush auto that is similar to the photo version.
i think I need to kick up my wattage and thus light penetration too.
@@AUTOmicroORGANICautoflower, Thanks yeah I'm excited to harvest. I wanna do a gsc auto too although I don't think I have enough time in the season left so I'm looking for faster strains that grow in colder climates as summer is coming to an end. Good luck with your next 2, It would be interesting to see how they react to topping.
nice dude! i have one 24 days in i just havne't had the time to start the diary for that one, i didn't train it until last night, now its pitched over horizontally and running through a net - undergrowth is blowing up
i'm doing a water only, kind soil / roots organic, 300w led / scrog-lst - pretty impressed so far! I am seeing preflowers already - pistils on day 22
@@AUTOmicroORGANICautoflower, your plant looks good! Its growing so fast compared to mine, probably because its indoors, and I think I may be overwatering. I decided I was going to stay organic and only use the FF big bloom and not the whole trio. Im hyped to see how yours comes out!
that test harvest bud is fuckin huge!
I smoked the last bowl of my plant last night , hahah lasted about 20 days of constant regular smoking, so lets call it $200 saved on buying dispensary weed. The icewater hash I made was good too, got 2 pucks out of it.
The flavor/smell was on the sativa side after curing, and it just got better and better - it was really enjoyable to smoke as the flavor developed.
