Week 6 from seed tomorrow. The smell on my fingers after touching the stem is like a bowl of lemons, fantastic! Cannot wait for this to finish. According to seedsman that is week 11? So 5 more weeks to go 😊
I have tied down the lower branches today so they're not underneath other branches, in the hope that this will help the bud sites be more exposed to sun light. Maybe someone can tell me of this is worth it with an Auto or not?
Lots of rain this week so ive put her into a wheelbarrow to make moving her out the rain more easy.
I live in a very remote area so dont have access to fancy nutrients. I mainly use animal manure (goat, duck and chicken) fish amino, crab meal and rock phosphate to make the best soil I can and hopefully I get no deficiency. But I do have a few fertilizers available which I have started adding.
Mono Potassium Phosphate at 0.5g,
1ml Bio Biz Fish mix,
1g seaweed
Added to 4 litres of water
I dont have a ppm meter so hopefully this mix isn't too strong for an auto.. we will see I guess
Into week 7 from seed. She is looking super green just like in the seedsman pictures.. I loaded the soil with the finest Chicken Shit 3 weeks before germination and its paying off, dont really need to give her any nutrients.
Something going on with the lower fan leaves. They look weak and drooping downwards. Possible overwatering.
Week 8 and the pistils are still completely white.
Ive had to cut back slightly on the fertilizer this week it was starting to increase the PH... At first I didnt notice until a few of the lower leaves became blotchy and yellowed as a result. Fixed the PH by adding a few drops of distilled white vinegar until the feed solution was at PH5.5 lowering the soil back to 6.5
Edit: Drooping fan leaves may have been down to lack of water.
Lots of rain and mainly cloudy most days but still lots of flower growth. It will do even better once the sun is out more..
Last day of the week - more and more pistils are beginning to turn orange/brown. Used a x30 loupe to inspect trichomes but difficult to hold it still to get a proper look!
Week 10 - not long now.. She looks good, just a little concerned with the fan leaves but from what I've read this is normal and nothing to worry about at this stage. Hope that is true. 🤔
I've kept the nutrients lower this week as I am worried about over feeding. The soil I mixed with alot of Manure from goats, ducks and chicken so I dont think I need to add anything else. First time growing... better to be safe than sorry.
I got to the bottom of last weeks droopy leaves - Underwatering!
I had been keeping her out of the rain and had forgot to feed water. Lesson learnt.
I noticed the roots get compact on top in a fabric pot if you dont slowly water in, the water runs off the pot and not through it. Fixed this by bottom feeding until the soil was fully wet - I guess bottom feeding is the way to go when this happens.
10-20% of Pistils are brownish now and most of the trichomes are cloudy with a few still clear and the odd one amber. Still trying to get to grips with the x45 loupe. I dont have steady hands 😆
The lower branches that were LST'd are getting really big now so for sure I will be pulling all the branches back next time.
Removed potential bud rot and will closely monitor. Hopefully she will be ok for 10 more days 🙏🤞
<Emergency harvest >
Constant rain for weeks combined with heat and humidity she was starting to breakdown. Spotted and removed bud rot initially and kept a real close eye on her but again there were two more spores I had to remove. Not wanting to risk losing the all the flower to bud rot I made the decision to harvested a week early. Some pistils were still white and if I'm honest I'm not sure about the tricomes, my loupe isn't the best but I could see the odd amber with a 50/50 cloudy/clear.
In the future, if I experience bud rot again i will just remove the rotten bud only and hope the plant pulls through. So many what ifs in my head and whether I did the right thing pulling her early or not..
Drying room isnt ideal. I have strung her up but can only get the humidity down to 76% after 24hrs with the dehumidifier on. The bud is wet through from the humidity. 500g wet weight is insane from this little plant. 111g of trim and sugar leaf too.
