Curiousity Grow! (Roleadro 45w flat panel LED grow) An experiment to see how well low watt flat panel LEDs perform in cultivation. First 4wks. are going to be on a 22/2 lighting schedule with a 24hr. dark period (at the end of those 4wks.) before switching to a12/12 cycle, final 2wks. will be 10/14. Only being fed twice before final flush, once with weaker grow nutes then after coming out of the 24hr. dark period with weaker bloom nutes, no PK booster. Humboldt Organics with 1tsp. of Mykos in the soil mix with 20% added perlite inside a (liquid) quart sized travel coffee container.Germination took roughly 48hrs. paper towel method with a few amendments halfway through; 1st 24hrs. with a speckle of Mykos unPH'd bottled water (guestimate would be 7.0PH), 2nd 24hrs. fresh paper towel with a drop of Hydrogen Peroxide unPH'd water again. If a male pollen may be collected for future breeding if it is selected for this process. At the end of germination was planted and by light's on the following morning was noticeable above ground and the shell slid right off, time for the cabinet and this experiment. **Noted nutrients are Humboldt Nutrients Grow Natural, Honey ES & Equalibrium all organic and are it's first of two feedings before it's flushing. Second feeding will be bloom nutes. The Mykos is 1tsp. in that 1qt. container, Percentage on the feed chart may look startling a bit at 1st glance.**

Day 9 lowered planter to the current bottom of cabinet, canopy is now -11in. under LED panel. 1st set of fans looking a bit ragged from watering with -nutes before ground was broken, let alone germination complete/transplanted. Day 14 branching prominently displayed under canopy on multiple nodes.

Day 16 (wk.3) returned the inside to original dimensions: canopy would be 12in. under LED on bottom; But remains elevated at 8in. under panel. Day 18 afternoon tied down Midge and removed another fan for better penetration, figured best result for this low watt may be had this way....however, I may have just increased my veg time a couple more weeks, at least, to see these results come to being. Day 19 flushed with AN PH perfect Grow, Micro & Bloom w/Myco Madness, grabbed (1.25ml/gal. measurements on all additives) also removed the last fan to allow better light pen. Got a couple more beans in the ground to keep this diary going, if my overzealousness kills the first.

Day 26 Calling it quits with the 45w Led, this light and I simply cannot work together. Have decided to place the 150w UFO plant in the tent and ride out the rest of this grow with the 150w UFO. It was clear 1/2 way through week 2 this flat panel would not suffice for the purpose I was testing it out for. This diary will continue under a different title next week.

Day 29 Start of Reparations! Midge will be under vegetative growth as was transplanted to a 1/2gal. plastic container with a new grow space & 150w (Growstar) 2nd Gen UFO. Hoping the extra veg. time and bigger pot are kinder to Midge. Day 30 Took an underbranching off and tied another LST point, also bent Midge's main stem over a bit more and noticed the tiny 1in. diameter 9 finger leaves growing!

This week Midge is still seeing some after effects of nute burn and a lil bit of nitrogen toxicity from the (fresh transplant soil having) time release beads in it. It's going to continue to be a bit of a touch and go struggle getting Midge healthy again. Removed a few fans throughout the week for some better light pen. Was gifted almost 200 regular (Squirrelly Girl) seeds from a local grower, upon his passing and I question why I kept this grow going at times...eh, some experience in trying to grow/maintain smaller plants, topping/mainlining & LST I guess....

Can't comment on taste with Midge... turned out a male plant, but the smell had been slowly intensifying into a straight sweet skunky smell up to the day it was plucked.

This grow was under a different venue than I'm used to, but that's what experiments are about trying different things....just do it with gifted seeds instead of ones you paid for, LOL. At least with the end results here...I feel better about the conditions this plant was under. No more 45w flat panel LED gave that to soimeone with a houseplant that may benefit from it's low intensity. I've got some half gallon fabric pots coming in the next couple of days, going to be putting down either a Red Poison or a Gorilla Glue (FastBuds) when those fabrics arrive.

Cool attempt dude, really cool. Shame it didn’t work out but best to pull the plug as soon as you know. I’ll keep an eye out for the next experiment! Cheers 👊

Thats what I figured, going to keep the diary going under another title. Will be under the 150w cree cob UFO for awhile until moving into the tent, if I decide to go that far with Midge.

I ordered a 45w Led panel from the 'Wish' app. I received 3 x 15w Led panels lol

I'd just use the 300w the entire way through and put the panels up surrounding your plant during flowering for the extra boost, but I don't think 15w panels (nor 45w panels) would contribute enough for a flower booster, lol...better off sticking with red spectrum LED bulbs for the boost.

I got a 300w led now. I'm trying to use the cheap panels for syarting seedlings and the 300w for flowering. i think I ended up getting my 300w from amazon for similiar price dude

@AnxiousWreck420, I don't believe anything worth while will come from using these panels, probably going to be small airy buds on midget plants. The light I primarily use is a 1000w LED, Growstar GS1000, alongside a 300w Growstar (2nd gen, the one with the cree cob) UFO LED. For a low budget grow I would suggest grabbing up that 300w UFO, got it for $68 on Amazon.

Very healthy. Led is working so far, adult plant may not suffice, curious to see

If this lil plant turns out a female, most likely the low intensity LED will produce tiny airy popcorn buds; At least that's my thoughts on this type of light.

Really fast initial growth, gonna follow to see effects of low watt led

On Day 20 Midge was placed in the 48x48 only for the picture, was put back immediately after the flush/change.

Midge has had quite a bend in her routine: Her next feeding will be with Advanced Nutrients PH perfect technology 3 part....and this "bend" will be clearer on wk.3 update. Read up and flip through the pictures!

I already met some results of underestimating this LED as far as closeness and from nuting the soil before planting from germ.... Got side tracked with putting together a grow box/nutrient package for a friend. Updates to resume at end of wks. for daily pics to tally up.
