Another grow season under way!
I am growing these in the 4 x 4 next to the Purple Mana strain by Bodhi. The Ziggy's Stardust will be going in my 3 x 3 by themselves in a couple weeks.
These are all regular seeds, so I am hoping for 2 females of each strain.
They all popped within 24 hours in the paper towel and then I moved them into starter plugs. By day 4 I moved them into reservoirs with some feed. EC started at .6, but I increased it to .8, PH 5.8-6.0.
I am starting this grow using Remo Nutrients, but I may switch back to botanicare. I got some mold in my Grow nutrient bottle and this is the 2nd time I had problems with the 4L jugs with Remo's nutrients. I use a 1L bottle that I fill with the 4L jug for my daily uses and there is still mold. The 4L jug has only been opened 3-4 times and was stored in a cool dry place (closet), so there shouldn't be mold. Maybe that means they don't use preservatives and that's a good thing, but botanicare is cheaper and I can get it locally easy... places by me don't have Remo nutes 😔.
Breeder notes on strain:

Res change this week.
Increased from EC 1.0 --> 1.1.
Feed is about a 2-1-2.1 NPK ratio.
PH a little low for a day or two (5.6-5.7) but now 5.8-6.
Moved plants around a little. I have a couple that look like they may be males, dominating their space.
Like the others, I'm not sure when I will flower. I think I might flower 1 res in a couple days and top the other and let it veg for another week.
I am only rocking 270 watts in the 4 x 4, so I am going to change the lights in the next day or two so they can get used to the increased intensity before flower.

About 30 days old today!
I moved them into flower a couple days into week 3 of veg. They have really took off since last update.
I removed the biggest plant because it was a dude. I am pretty sure I have 2 solid females. Like the rest of my grow, I will have to wait a few more days before I am completely sure.
I was having some PH issues. The PH kept dropping. I think I was a little heavy handed with the PH down. All of my reservoirs were dropping, so it was definitely something I did wrong. So I did another res change a couple days ago and they seemed to have responded well.
PH target 5.8-6.1
EC 1.25-1.35 (PPMs 630-680)

Good week!
As you can see my tent has a few less plants than last week. I removed all the males and decided to keep 3 TKNL5 hazes. 3 female/2 male ratio. 1 was small and stunted for a while. I think she had some root troubles early and then was covered by 1 of the males, so she didn't get much light/energy, but she is moving along well now.
Defoliation yesterday. I removed a couple dozen growth tips/nodes off all the plants.
Target PH - 5.8-6.1
EC 1.25-1.35. Res change yesterday to all bloom nutrients.

The TKNL5 Hazes are beautiful so far.
Looks like I have 2 different phenos, which is awesome.
I am labeling the plants A, B, and C. A is front left, B front right (same res), and C is back left plant.
Since this is an F3, one would expect around 75% of the plants to be the Haze dom, so looks like Plants B and C are the haze dom. The males seemed to look a lot like Plants B and C as well.
The front left plant (A) is either TK or NL dom.. I am guessing TK since the leaf structure reminds me of some Kushes I grew. I guess it doesn't really matter except now I will have more variety. yay. 😁
Increasing EC from 1.25-1.3 to 1.35-1.4 this week. I will add some bloom booster and probably keep the feed around 1.35-1.4 the rest of the grow.
PH 5.8-6.0

These girls put on a lot of size this week. There is probably another week of stretching, so I have to make sure I keep raising my light.
I am doing a lot of fan leaf tucking and some defoliation to expose the tops. I have 1 plant tied down still
I changed both reservoirs after about 12 days. EC seems stable at 1.3. I increased the PPMs to 700 (EC 1.4) and they shot up to 800 (EC 1.6) over 2 days, so they like 650-680 better.
Nothing else really going on except keeping my environment stable.

Have a good week!! 🚀🚀
Another week of a lot of growth. The tallest one put on about 10" this week and the others probably around 8". Crazy that the tallest plant almost got chopped because it was a very slow in veg, now she is a beauty.
I did some defoliation this week to clean up the middle and remove a lot of the smaller side branching. I left a lot of the larger fan leaves. I am losing a couple of them a day, so they will thin out naturally before the end of flower.
EC 1.4. - It seems 1.4 is a little hot as the PPMs rise to 1.5-1.6 over a day, but they look ok so far. Topping off the res with 10-12.5ml bloom, 2.5ml cal-mag, 1.25ml hydroplex and liquid karma every couple days.
PH 5.7-6.1 - Finally stable towards the end of the week. I started using less cal-mag and more bloom on my top offs and it seemed to have help. Trying to reduce the amount of cations in the res so it isn't so acidic when the plants eat.

These girls are stacking very well.
I have a couple orange/rust spots on the tall TKNL5 Haze (Plant A). I think it is too much Ca causing some K problems over time... could be all the P too.
I am not going to use any more P/K booster during res top offs and completely remove it in the res change next week.
I plan to add some epsom salts to replace the Magnesium Sulfate from the P/K booster. (spoiler alert: mag sulfate is epsom salts).
Otherwise everything is going great!
34-38" tall
EC 1.4 - Rising to 1.5-1.6 every couple days. I want to push them and the edges don't look too burnt, so I am not going to bring the EC down to 1.3.
PH 5.8 is the target. PH ranged from 5.6-6.1, mostly at 5.7-5.9

Updating a day early this week so F48.
Gave them a defoliation to clean up the middle and remove some smaller branches.
PH 5.7-6.0 - Stable over the last few days
EC 1.4 - Rises to 1.5-1.6 over a couple days, but as I said last week, I want to push them and the leaf tips aren't too bad.

F55 since the flip to 12/12.
EC 1.3-1.4 - They are eating less now. I started the week around 1.4, now brought it down to 1.3. I will bring it down to 1.2 in the next 1-2 days. I am no longer using the P/K booster on top offs and reducing the cal-mag.
PH 5.6-6.0 - Some drops. Mostly 5.8-5.9
I contacted the breeder and he stated plant A, or the front left plant, is a NL hybrid while the others are the haze dom. I love getting different phenos as I wasn't really expected too much difference as they are F3. The males all looked the same, so I got an outlier. cool beans. Also, the fact I sent an e-mail to the breeder and got a response fast (within a day and he lives in Alaska) is pretty awesome. I am definitely popping more AK bean brains stuff in the future.
My guess is 3-5 weeks left on all the plants, the NL hybrid cloer to 5 while the others probably 3.5-4 weeks,

EC 1.15-1.2 - Started to bring the EC down. Same reservoir as last week, but I've been topping it off with bloom and very little cal-mag.
PH 5.9-6.1 - PH has been staying closer to 6. I had to use some PH down, which has been rare for this grow.
Tent is getting very sticky and stinky. Hard to describe, but lots of spices and smells like good ass weed lol. My nose isn't the best at picking out smells.
2 more weeks I think for the Haze dom plants. The taller 1 (NL hybrid) is a little behind that.

Day 69 since the flip.
Still not much amber and a little more clear headed trichomes than I would like.
I think I am going to harvest the entire tent F80-F84.
EC 1.0 - PPMs were rising through the week. Today I dropped the EC to .9. I don't flush because it doesn't do anything for my setup.. as long as I bring the EC down the final 2 weeks or so.
PH 5.6-6.0 - A drop or two, but otherwise stable around 5.8-5.9.
Smells are rocking. When I open my tent my wife says it smells like hashy garbage.. so a lot of funk coming from the tent.
Have a great week!! 🚀🚀
F76 today.
A lot of cloudy trichomes, very little amber if any.
This will probably be my last update until harvest. I think I will give them another 5-7 days... maybe more, depends if they keep throwing out pistils or not.
EC .8 - They are still drinking a lot of water, but not a lot of nutrients. I brought the EC down to .7 and will keep it around there until harvest
PH 5.9-6.2
*Harvested at the end of week 12. Next update will be in a few weeks after the dry and some cure. 🚀🚀
Have a great week!! 🚀🚀
AK Bean Brains - TK NL5 Haze F3 (Haze Dom)
I grew 3 plants and 2 were heavy haze leaners and the other was an NL leaner.
Harvested at the end of week 12.
Smell: The haze leaners stink like sweet garbage. It smells like cleaning an old dirty, dusty basement. When it is ground up, the garbage smell isn't as strong and it becomes citrusy. Very dank and stinky.
The NL leaner has more of a spice smell to it. Musky, but mainly earth, spices. Oregano comes to mind.
Effect: The garbage smelling plants (haze) puts me in a bubble and I can't get anything done. I spent 2 hours trying to do a few dishes earlier and they are still there. Stoney stone.
The NL leaner is a more active high where I can get more stuff done, but it still packs a huge punch.
Edit after 2 month cure: TKNL5 Haze has to be the strongest bud I've ever smoked. It won't put you to sleep, but make you lose time. I've been smoking it quite a bit and no real terp lock yet like some other strains. This is the shit you give people when you want to show off. Stinky as hell and it rocks your brain.
Excellent stuff by Mr. Bean Brains.
These were grown in 5 gallon DWC. The NL leaner and the smaller haze in the front shared 1 5-gallon reservoir and the back Haze had its' own 5 gallon res.
I harvested all the plants at the end of week 12.
I hung the whole plants to dry for 8-10 days and have been curing for 2-3 weeks now.
My female:male ratio was good (3 females:2 males). I had 1 plant growing differently. I e-mailed the breeder, just to get some more knowledge, and he stated the 1 was an NL leaner.
The NL leaner needed plant yo-yos to support the buds because they were breaking the stems. I like the NL leaner, it is super frosty, has a great smell, and the effects are great, but those hazes leaners...
The haze leaners are stinky stinky. Strong smelling, funky terps. Everything I expected and more. The high puts me in my own bubble where I am not doing shit.
I harvested a total of 275 grams off 3 plants. The NL leaner and the bigger plant in the back were 120-130 grams each and the smaller plant was about 30 grams.
A total of 455 grams in the 4 x 4, just over a pound. Not superb, running 450-480 watts, but still an extremely successful grow.
Looking back, I probably harvested this a week early, but I needed the dry space. Next run I will try to push the plants another 10 days or so.
Thanks for following along!! 🚀🚀
@StunFlower, There was only about 1L left, so it wasn't a total loss. I am confident if I contacted them they would replace it like they did with their bloom, but I'm still going to make the switch to botanicare and see how I like it. Also I feel weird contacting a company twice in less than a year asking for replacements. I might stick with the 1L bottles from now on.. costs a little more overall, but much less hassle.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Peace & Love - L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
@GYOweed, haha. TY. Yea you know how grow diaries is, but I don't mind. I mainly do this for my own notes. Too many shills on this site, but it has a great format.
@StunFlower, I don't have the space to veg longer. It is a pain in the butt to run all regulars in my setup. I could swap some plants to other reservoirs, defoliate, and some other stuff, but that is a lot of work and stress to the plants. I could have taken clones, put them 12/12 and found out the sex, but that is more space, time...
As you know, luckily in DWC you don't have to veg long at all to get nice yields and big plants.
