So... a thing happened trying to get the Autos going for this grow.
TL:DR; lots died and this is the champion
I started with two different autos, a cheese-sus christ and a blue hindu. I had issues with the grow mat and I believe it's going bad on me. Albeit, the first two seeds I went to germinate did so very well. I was also germinating two other photos that weren't quite ready yet and I decided to go another 12 hours. I was impressed with the growth of the tap roots within that time. They both managed to bind to the paper towel... I tried to get them loose and ended up breaking both tap roots badly and scrapping those.
Round 2: I start two more seeds, one of each. Mind you this is my second to last cheese-sus and we really like that strain. Anyways, the cheese-sus gets a nice tap root and the BH had nothing after 48 hrs. I decide to plant both and see what happens. Side note, the BH was actually a last minute buy and not really wanted in the long run. The cheese-sus pops out of the ground like a bull in a china shop!.... I'm pumped and excited to get the show on the road! Then THEY arrived... the spider mites. No Idea how they got there but they did. Thank everyone looking out for me bc it was only the tent with this single germinated cheeses-sus and a BH that refused to pop as theses little bastards killed that girl in less than two days...
Round 3! I start two more seeds, one of each. Mind you, this is my last cheeses-sus seed....ANNNNNNNNND it's gone. never germinated. I was upset. Wanted to just throw out the BH and be done with it but she popped out of that rooter like it was no one's business. Now i'm stuck with her... Hopefully she does well
She popped and started growing a little lopsided but has been slowly correcting herself. Getting the tent dialed in and ready for all three to go through their veg stage.
Her and the Hot Mess are looking like they're going to be beastly so I decide to through in a reduce amount of fertilizer in this week's watering cycle. I'm liking the effects so far. As for the rest of the tent, I feel good about the climate controls to move forward into full Veg.
Just a week of RO water and nothing special. She's doing all of the magic on her own. A lot more stretch to her than I had expected but I can see now she's going into preflower. An exciting time for her! I don't have any plans of yet for training other maybe pulling some of the lower bud site. We will see!
She has good structure and some lovely bud sites forming. I may need to reinforce the limbs as the weight comes on but we will see. I added some D2E All Purpose 4-6-2 at 1 tbsp per gallon and she took that well. I'll probably start doing little P-K supplements weekly and all purpose monthly. She smells great and I'm excited to see her continue with the good overall growth.
Well, I don't know why I forgot to supplement Calcium as this always happens in the first two weeks of flower. Hopefully, I've mitigated most of the damage. I've used a combo of the crush shells and the liquid cal-mag and will monitor her over the coming days. Otherwise, she's in the other tent as the photos are about to flip.
Looks like I really needed to supplement more cal-mag even with the dry nutes. I was really hoping the 4-6-2 would have had enough but a good learning exercise. She definitely went all over the place in needs which would explain the nutrients this week. Obviously, these weren't all done at once and I added the liquid nutes to help correct the issues a little quicker using a 1/4 the recommended. She's bouncing back nicely and looking like she's on the right track again. I did raise the lights as she stretched some more and the main cola was praying a little too much for my liking.
A pretty light week with just some balancing out and adding some more nitrogen to the soil as the leaves were still going a little yellow. I keep forgetting to supplement the root system properly so I added some boomerang this time around. The buds are fattening up very nicely and should be a decent yield in the coming weeks. No other real plans but to just water and watch what she needs. The smell is really starting to pick up and its pretty mouth watering!
I did raise the lamps another few inches as I was seeing a little stress on the upper most leaves.
She just hulking up nicely and I don't have many complaints. I wished I had caught some issues earlier but I think it's more just has to do with the dry nutes becoming available. I'm still happy though and I'm going to give her another week or so before harvest. We can't wait as it smells amazing in there!
This is a lovely flower, smokes smooth, fruity with a hint of pine. The high can be described as starting strong in the head, like a kick, then melting to the rest of the body. General feeling is a little stupid, like walking through a doorway and forgetting what you were doing constantly. Some have reported that it aids in body aches as well.
Overall, a fairly standard plant as far as needs. She bulked up big time in the last few weeks so I wish I had stayed a little more ahead on feeding but still turned out well. Using just the dry nutrients was a fun test and I'll continue to use them to supplement grows. One thing that made us really happy was there weren't a ton of leaves to trim making the harvest only taking an hour trimming everything by hand.
