(Picture for placeholder) I had been having trouble in the germination part of the process. I ended up doing the glass of water method and transferring the seed into a rockwool cube where I then put into a humidity dome. I guess that's when the party started because she shot through that so quick I was shocked honestly. (I'm a first time grower so everything's shocking.) I'll probably do that again with my next grows. It was cool.
I put a little collar on it because I had issues with my other seeds getting algae and had to reclean everything. Anyways, algae proofing as much as I can.
9/17/21 I probably shouldn't have started with DWC but whatever. I've introduced her to the nutrients.
9/21/21 I finally found a root popping out of the side of the leca but now I'm starting to question what
the root situation is like underneath the rockwool cube and why it was prioritizing the leaves and not roots?
(Unless there's a huge root system I can't see inside?)
She growing big and... weird? o.O Hmmmm... can you find the imperfections? She looks healthy so I'm not too worried and I'll continue with the same nutrient schedule.
She's veeeeery short and bushy. I'm stuck between letting her grow naturally or trying my hand at LST. I think I'll just let her do her thing first and go from there though.
I'm pretty sure the issue is that the lights were too close.
Start of week 5 was 10/10/21 but I've been busy so I haven't been documenting. She's drinking a lot of water now and showing signs of flowering.
Started massaging the branches out so they don't cover each other as much and still haven't trimmed either.
10/17/21 No problems so far. I did accidentally fracture one of the main branches at the base the other day but I think she's recovered since.
She's really filling up the space. Since I'm new to this let it be noted that she may be in flowering and I can't really tell.
I severely underestimated how tall she would grow and now I am left with a big plant and a small tent.
I'm not entirely sure but I think she either has a little nutrient burn or the lights are burning the leaves, (I'm guessing it's the nutes though)
Still no LST or anything. I am tucking her leaves here and there to make sure she doesn't block light to the lower sections but it's still a little dark down there.
Does anyone still recommend I go in and do some defoliation?
Hey! Happy growing my friend! I hope you do well and get some good results! I will come by sometime to see your progress! Keep on growing!
