Quite a slow start overall , first run indoor but quite hopeful to see how things turn out.

Clones started acclimating to their conditions , very surprised to see the such speedy growth. I tried to be a little careful with nutrients at this stage as well as low-stress training a few stems to open the canopy.

Leaves seemed a bit thick and curled up, I am sure I had overwatered and decided to cut back on watering , humidity went down but after a few days they showed a big change.

New growth filled out nicely, defoliated and readjusted some stems to prepare them for my DIY scrog net , then fed them through as best I could for maximum light coverage.

The clones really started taking off at this stage, dried out a lot faster between waterings so I slowly increased the amount of water until the bags felt saturated enough. Tucked apical growth as best I could but my makeshift trellis had not quite covered enough of the canopy, mini humidifier also added much needed moisture for the girls too.

The girls started developing a light sweet smell on their stems , growth really surprised me and given they’ve pretty much filled out their space I decided to flip to flower, after letting them recover from a light defoliation and some topping for a few days, I also included a dose of Bio-Bizz Bio Bloom to help trigger the flowering phase.

I’m expecting another week or 2 of explosive growth, I’ve started seeing a few pistils shooting from apical stems. Been having issues controlling humidity during lights out but the girls don’t seem to be slowing down. Cleaning any growth that seems slower than the tops has also ensured a relatively even canopy, although at this point I felt like I was losing control and considered getting a new trellis net

The second week of flowering has been nothing but a breeze, lowered my watering a bit and the girls have definitely responded well , buds are starting to develop nicely although the canopy seems a bit uneven in certain quadrants which I believe might be a problem later on. For now, patience and a little more defoliation will have to do

Buds started fattening up and developing trichomes in the last week, I also defoliated any leaves covering bud sites and rearranged the scrog net to try and expose more light to the buds. It was an exceptionally rainy week so temperatures also dropped quite a bit , I’m hoping that wasn’t too much of a shock for the girls , especially for the two closest to the door. I’m still hopeful though, things seem to be heading in the right direction but as this my first try running indoors I will definitely take note of my mistakes.

A very pleasant week , girls have responded well to the increase in nutrients , buds are developing very nicely though. Very fruity smell and trichomes have started covering a lot of the leaves , I’m hoping this trend continues till harvest. In the new week I’m going to increase nutrient feed according to the Biobizz Feeding Chart where I’m hoping the buds will really start fattening up 🍃

I’m surprised every morning I check up on the plants, “frosted” is definitely an accurate description of what these buds look like and as far as smell goes , I can smell an intensely fruity and fresh fragrance. I also decided to clean out the grow box to prevent any mould growth, PM is a serious crop killer where I live, while reorganising the scrog net I unfortunately broke a little stem but I super glued it back on and tied it down with some plant wire ( after convincing myself that it’s not going to be worth drying and smoking it as a tester).I’ve also cut back on fish mix in the hopes to achieve a smoother smoke. The end is in sight and if the weather continues to stay relatively cool then I doubt I’d be running into any issue. By far the least stressful grow I’ve experienced, now it’s all about maintaining the girls till they get a little denser and perhaps even develop some funky colours!

Almost there! After almost 4 months of carefully tending to the Frosted Apricot girls they’re entering their last weeks of life, I was pleasantly surprised to see one of the plants started developing some deep purple hues , not too sure when this happened as I’ve got a blurple LED blasting down on the two on the left side. However, I’m sure the rest of the girls should follow suit soon as the original mother ( from which I got cutting from) did go purple in the last few weeks of harvest. Unfortunately I ran out of top max and it’s a schlep to find in my area so I’m hoping the feed they got today will be enough to carry them through until I do a flush. Trichomes are mostly cloudy and I’ve only seen a few amber trichomes on what I believe to be the most established plant, buds are rock hard though and the smell has somewhat matured or I’ve gotten used to it since my head is basically always inside sniffing and gawking at what I believe to be my best ever grow.

Almost there, trim jail and curing will be the next step but so far I’m very impressed by the colour on the buds and although they’re small they are super dense. I doubt the buds will get any bigger but I’ve decided to start flushing in the upcoming week as some of the fan leaves have started drying up and falling off. I’m very proud of my first run and I can definitely see where I made mistakes but I’m even more encouraged to harvest and get started with a new run with this same pheno (been maintaining a mother) slow and steady wins the race!

Grow Questions

Does light spectrum affect the colour of the fade on leaves? And, if so, what else does spectrum have an effect on? Photo’s are of the same bud but purple hues are only on the bottom of the leaves.

Thanks so much for the answer, I suppose there must be hot and cold spots in the tent but it’s interesting that not all the plants turned purple at the same time. Happy growing!

Hello buddy. The purple color comes from difference of temperatures so it means your plant got cold so in order to protect herself she produce a pigment called anthocyane which result in purple pigmentation. It is like she put suncream protection but against the cold. Secondly it can comes from the genetic too . otherwise effects of spectrum light are that your plant assimilate better the light if the spectrum is good it have an effect on the height , the internodal distance, the flowering for sure etc... It is for that we need to use special lamps for each stage . ( growth and flowering). It is a huge theme and there is so much to say we can speak about effect of spectrum light all the night.. So try to have a higher temperature during the night if you Don't want purple shades. Good luck. Peace

Hi there Leights, yeah the spectrum has a bunch of different impacts, for example in terms of energy production for the plant. but what's actually happening here is a temperature related issue. you're a bit cold at night, so that's why you're seeing these colors. Hope this helps ! 🚀

I’m going to run this strain again and correct the mistake I made in the first run, buds are a little less dense than expected but I probably could have pushed a little longer. However, the bigger the plant the bigger the bud so with that in mind , with my next grow , bigger is going to be better
