Few of weeks off then straight in for grow number two! All the same strain this time to avoid harvest issues and gone for the Afghan Kush Auto by Fastbuds which has the potential for an 8 week run time which sounds insane! Loving the strong indica vibes on the strain report so can wait to see what she does!
24 hours in a glas of water then straight into the soil with temps around 23-26c days and 20-22c nights. Humidity 80-90% and lights on 20/4 schedule.
Growing steadily, added grow to the schedule on day 13 and held on with the root too. Starting to think about training methods and should I treat all 3 the same or mix it up a bit and see what comes from that?
As per the grow question on day 15 the smallest one was looking more and more sorry for itself over the last few days. I left it alone for 24 hours as thought itay have been over watered but it didn't respond to that so I flipped my approach and gave her a bit extra compared to her larger sisters and on day 16 she's perked up quite a bit. 3 plants in identical conditions and still get differences, I'm really loving finding out more and more as I grow! Speaking of which I had a go at fimming with one of the plants this week and started the LST on the others. She's responded that so after some light defoliation and LST on day 21 I grabbed the trimmers and fimmed another one! They also responded very well to the addition of a Mars Hydro TS600 on day 19 hanging with the SF1000 at about 28 inches from the plant tops. I'm not working at about 40w per square foot and something in the realms off 300 to 400umol so hoping for some dense nugs come harvest!
Day 15 for 3 Afghan Kush autos by Fastbuds. All in same conditions, feed from same batch etc but one is clearly in some difficulty where the others are thriving. Only my 2nd grow do I am a bit lost and confused by it. Any ideas?
I cant really explain why but my last grow the same happened, one was really stunted but the others were growing fine. I personally just deemed it to be a bit of an "handicapped plant". That said, I would keep it going if possible just for the experience, it actually surprised me how well it performed considering its messed up start, it was really weird in its grow pattern, growing in odd intervals with how it branched out and all sorts of interesting stuff. It was actually my most yielding plant that grow, although the weed was not as strong as the others. Hope your grow goes well mate! :)
I have added a Mars Hydro TS600 to my tent along with the Spider Farmer SF1000 in my 2x2, how far should I move them up away from the plants? I'm guessing I don't want them as low as the SF1000 was on its own which was around 15"

Based on the specs of the TS600 and the PPFD chart, I would say that you would be good at around 18 inches. Now, by adding the second light to the mix, their will also be light received from the coverage of the other light. Your plants look like they may benefit from having both lights set around 18 inches and go from there. 15” seems close…attempt to avoid heat stress, light stress, burn, etc. As new plants they are still very easily affected by the light. Things going well this week, lots of good and strong looking growth this week. 1 and 3 continued to respond well to the fimming and I topped 2 in 2 places towards the end of the week with plenty of LST and defoliation too. Really please with how things are going, the adding of the Mars Hydro TS600 has been amazing!
Steady week, bit more LST and defoliation. Pre flowering on all 3 plants well underway and lots of possible bud sites showing up. Interesting growth where number 2 was topped in 2 locations so excited to see what develops on her and the fimming in the other two looks.to have done them good.
Flower coming along nicely, definitely looking at longer than the advertised 56-63 days but I'm hopeful of a strong harvest looking at them so far. Keeping it all crossed for that to continue!
Week started well but then on day 44 external heating issues meant I needed to warm the room up the tent and in a rookie error I stood, fan heater in hand and blowing at the open tent, as I looked for the best spot to put it for a short 20 second period. That was enough time to heat damage small areas of all 3 plants which worsened over the next couple of days. On day 49 they all had pretty big defoliation sessions which helped in removing the damaged areas and despite the issue of my own creation they all appear to still be doing well with the trichome production starting up all over the place.
Nothing major of note, light defoliation where needed and buds have started putting on some weight. Humidity rising a bit but not overly bad, just keeping an eye on them on the run to the finish line. We have super hard water but even 5l of that with a full load of the biobizz range is dropping the pH to 5.8 or less so addres pH up to the arsenal at the end of the week.
Some pronounced curling on some of the leaves of one plant to keep an eye on but other than that nothing major. Could be, and I feel most likely, from the accident with the fan heater as the lights are a good distance away. Don't think it's stopping them much as the frost has really started to spread over the buds
Heading towards the end now, curling remains but the buds are looking great, smelling strong and feeling so so sticky! Can't wait for harvest, thinking another week or 2 to go.
Just water now for the run to the finish line. Opened a window to drop the temps down a few degrees lower as the buds have swollen nicely this last week, sticky as anything and the trichs have gone over 95% cloudy with a few splats of amber. The lights went out on day 77 for 48 hours, harvest incoming!
AK is lovely strain i was grow this baby in soil few times... beautiful leaves bud nice grow. just fit your higrometer in half of your box not directly on soil 👍👌
im growing two of these at the mo and both are a little ...erm...lets say special lol Both pretty deformed, dont know if its anything I have done but all my other plants are thriving! very odd and annoying as I really wanted quite a bit of this strain, may just have to grow it in photo
