NY Diesel Auto 2021Q3

She did nothing the first 3 days in the coco. Woke up on day 4 to see her about an inch tall but still bound up in the seed shell and membrane. I wet her and plucked it off around 7AM. By 2PM she was praying to the light!!!!! Day 6 I increased the light to 15%. That raised my tent temp to 82°, from the steady 78° it has been all week. She loved it!

No real update to start the week. Day 8, seeing some yellow. It's either too much light or too much water. Going to dial back the light to 5% Day 10 Light coloring on inner leaves doesn't seem to be any sign of issues. Finally got the light where she quit stretching. 2 new leaves I think. Adjusted my clip fans so she'll get some wind to strengthen her lil legs. I like a thickum!!!! Sprayed topsoil with neem to fight off gnats. Shopping local for sticky strips. Day 11 top filled with 2 cups of coco-loco mixed with 1 cup of worm castings and a half cup of perlite, to make up for the stretch. 10/4 Starting today, I'm going to age her from the day she popped through the dirt instead of germination date. She first saw light on 9/23, making her 12 days old today. She's doing great after the topfill.

Starting week 3 strong. Still a bit leggy so I'll topfill one last time. Day 14 Adjusted clip fans so she gets more wind and strengthens that leggy stalk. Day 16 Top filled with half gallon of coco-loco for additional leg support. I'm happy with the fill line now. Gave her an Oz of water with Fish Sh!t. It's not time for her to be watered so I went super light with it. Next watering will be a full dose (0.5ml per 16oz) Day 17 AM Doing some comparison research and wondering why this girl is so small.. turns out she can take a lot more light than the 5% I been giving her. Bumped light to 25%. If she takes it well, I'm going to go to 50%. Day 17 PM She loves the extra PAR but it raised the tent temp to 89°. Turned on the inline fan and it dropped to 83° but RH went to 50%. Gotta get this dialed in tomorrow. Day 20 Wondering when I should start LST. She seems so small, not bushy at all. The stem is really stiff, I'm scared to break it or uproot it. Leaves look healthy. For week 3, I feel like she should be further along. Another 8 days should be the start of flower. I don't see how. Not feeling encouraged at this point. Day 21 Gave that stiff stem a light massage and it softened up enough for her first LST. Soil was at 30% moisture so I gave her roughly 12oz of water PH 6.35 with Fish Sh!t. Temp is 80° Humidity is 56% without the inline fan. Day 22 She is putting off smells. I didn't think it was possible in veg, but the tent definitely smell like weed. Turned the inline fan on low speed.

Starting off week 4 with some LST and a faint weed odor in the tent. I plant to top dress this weekend. Day 25 Top dressed 3Tbl veg, 3Tbl flower, 6Tbl earthworm castings. Watered in with 6.35PH spring water containing .5ml of Fish Sh!t. Adjusted LST stakes. Day 28 Bought tie downs because she pulls the stakes right out of the coco. She is strong, bushing, and resilient. Lots of inner growth to manage.

Day 29 This NY Diesel Auto is full of tricks. Look at that growth structure. Double branches at every node. I wonder if that's something genetic or stress related. I also notice a small, light, spot on a leaf that appears to be the start of a rust spot. Gotta keep an eye on it. Day 31 Took her out of the tent to inspect her and clean the tent. She looks good. Found another leaf with rust spots. There are white tips on all of the larger fan leaves. The pot was light so I watered 6.4 PH with .5ml of Fish Sh!t. Took the humidifier out. Day 32 Found sacs on her tentmate. Gonna keep this one even if it seeds. I'll grow the seeds. This way I still get to experience my first harvest. I'll even dry it, trim it and cure it. I'm sure to learn something valuable. Day 33 She's beautiful and bushy. Even canopy. Need to nip and tuck to get light on bud sites. Day 34 Pot is half heavy at sunrise, will check again tonight. Gave her a neem oil top drench and did some leaf tucking. Snipped one leaf that was blocking a bud site. Switched 6hr dark period to noon thru 6pm. It's cheaper and cooler. Just need to make sure there are no light leaks.

Day 35 Starting week 6 strong. LST done on more branches, exposing more bud sites. Light bump to 65% to 70% (280W). Watered 24oz 6.25PH.

Day 38 Adjusted LST ties, added one more. Watered with no Fish Sh!t. Light is on 75% / 300w. Day 41 Leaves have a droop, she is thirsty. Will water when the lights come back on. I keep considering light defoliation, but with the LST and tucking, every bud site is getting light. Might be selfish or naive, but I want to leave (pun intended) them and see what I get. Night 41 Gave her 24oz of PH6.25 spring water with Fish Sh!t. Adjusted LST ties. Clipped 2 dying lower leaves (inner canopy, no light). Clipped another 2 leaves that were blocking bud sites or were suckers. Light is at 77% TRICHOMES!!!!!!!! Day 43 The droop is worse. The leaves and leaf stems are drooping. I originally thought I overwatered, because I did water more than I ever have most recently. But when I lifted the pot, it was light. She's been drinking!!! So I watered at 6.4. There is one lower fan leave showing nute deficiency. Either Nitrogen or Potassium. The droop then must be a combination of thirst and hunger. Hopefully, she bounceback from this little famine once I feed her (maybe tomorrow). I'm going to buy some calmag because the worm castings bring too many fungus gnats. I'm not about to deal with that again!🙄🤨😤 Day 45 Top dressed with 1Tbl each of veg & all purpose nutes, 4Tbl of flower nutes. 2Tbl of worm castings, 3Tbl of coco-loco, and a pinch of Azoz. Watered it in with 6.3PH water. Leaf tucked, LST adjustment, and snipped two yellow leaves and one sucker. Top drenched with Neem Oil to preemptively treat fungus gnats.. Even canopy! Lots of bud sites, but like 4 or 5 mains! I am hoping this ends the droop with no stunting. Next top dress will be day 60ish. Day 46 She is on the rebound! Leaf stems are standing up straight. Leaves still have some droop, but are clearly recovering. She'll be back to health in another 24 to 36 hours. I added another humidifier to the room. Night humidity goes into the upper 30s. With the room humidifier, I hope to keep the tent RH at 50%. Stocking up on distilled water, going to need it to finish this grow and dry. Today I watered @ 6.3PH with Fish Sh!t added. Fresh, new, microbial residents to put the recently amended nutes to good use. Adjusted LST ties, tucked some more leaves. Canopy is on point! Day 47 Bottom watered roughly 6 to 8 ounces of water. Day 48 Bottom watered again. Looking a bit better. Now I have to make sure I keep her moist but not overwater. Day 49 Still recovering, but showing signs of progress. Canopy maintenance is pretty much daily at this point. Vigor is good here. Considering a worm tea, as the top dress hasn't kicked in yet. Maybe I will just stick with Fish Sh!t.

Day 49 From Seed Droop is almost gone. Color and texture are on point. I cleared out a lot of center bush and unlikely bud sites. Adjusted and added LST ties. Neem top drench. Day 50 On second look, the color is light and dinjy. The pot was light, top and bottom watered at 6.5 with Fish Sh!t. Probably just 1st grow anxiety. I will never underwater again. This sucks. I don't know if I need to do anything other than what I already have. Environment is locked in, water is PH perfect, food and microbes are in the soil, light is at 100% (400w). There is no smell at all. Her day 34 tent mates are funky, but not her. What does that mean? Day 51 She has roughly 40% of her leaves perky. I did some research and found I should be watering to slight runoff to ensure the roots at the bottom are being hydrated. I haven't been watering to runoff at all. That's why I notice the biggest improvements after bottom watering. The perk up is reassuring but she is still light green, which tells me she's not eating the nutrients I top dressed on day 45. Going to do a worm tea tomorrow. Castings, agave, Fish Sh!t, and a small dose of nitro. Day 53 Took the LST ties off. Watered (top & bottom). Neem Oil top drench. 25 to 30 days left and still no smell. Day 55 Watered, did another neem oil top drench. NOT using castings on the next top dress.

Day 56 Pulled about 10 leaves that were showing some deficiency. It's an 86 day strain so it's not fade. Top dress is supposed to last 2 weeks, it's been 11 days so she is hungry 3 days early. She was hungry earlier than expected on the last top dressing as well. I will top dress tomorrow. All flower nutes, no castings. Day 57 From Seed Top dressed with 5Tbls of Flower Girl and 1Tbls of Tomato & Vegetable nutes. Watered in between 6.0 & 6.5 PH. Water had a heavy dose of Fish Sh!t. Day 60 Top dressed 2Tbls of Garden Lime with 5.5PH water. The Garden Lime raises soil PH by .5, hence the lower PH water. At least I hope that's the way it works. Trichomes are developing, still no smell. Day 61 Watered with organic coconut water and spring water 50/50 PH between 6.0 and 6.5. Preparing Roots Organic Bloom tea for Day 65.

Day 63 Worm Tea - 3Tbls of worm castings, 1Tbls of Terp Tea Bloom, 1Tbls of Organic Blue Agave Lots of crispy dead fan leaves. BUDS FINALLY HAVE A SMELL.... DELICIOUS!!!!!! Day 65 Finally broke down and added some CalMag. 32oz of 6.3PH spring water. Added 6ml of CalMag to the gallon I water from. Packaging calls for 3 to 5ml per gallon. Added a trellis net 18" from the ground. Day 68 CalMag finally slowed the yellowing / dying leaves. She is still drinking a lot and the nugz are growing. With roughly 20 days left, I am hoping they fatten up. Day 70 I finally got the breeders product details and found out it's a 70 day pheno. I had been reading a different breeders info of the same strain and it was quite different. So, what I saw as a calcium and magnesium deficiency was actually the plant fading for the past 2 weeks. That's why nothing I did stopped it. It stinks sooooo gooooood! Citrus, pine, and light gas. Sticky to the touch and all tops are 65% dense. Not bad for my 1st full grown plant. Now I have to wait for the other tent-mates to finish up (~16 days) to chop, hang, and dry. I will be checking trichomes between now and then, just to document the transitions.

Day 71 From Sprout Watered with 32oz of spring water PH 7.0. The terps are poppin!!!!! Super sticky. It's so hard not to touch the buds. I really wish I could hang it to dry, but I have to wait for the other plants to finish up. Day 74 Watered top and bottom. Inspected for pests or foxtail, none found. Buds are getting more dense, but not really fatter. Day 76 48oz of pH 6.5 water. Sooo sticky!!!!! Day 78 Removed trellis net, rotated / repositioned the pot under the light. Watered with unPH'd distilled water (32oz) on top and 12oz bottom.

Day 82 Started 24hr dark period. Chop Sewy tomorrow!

It's been fun to grow NY Diesel Auto from Seedsman. I will definitely grow it again, and I have all my notes right here on Growdiaries so I can do better. Can't wait to dry, cure, and smoke it!!!! Dry weight is 40g
