Wedding Cake by Purple Caper Seeds

Setting this wedding cake off from purple caper seeds today. Hopefully it will be a female so I can turn it into a mother plant. Will be staring off in root it cube, then to 4inch Rockwool cube and then finally to my flo gro 500 system. I will be using mainly Dutch Pro nutrients.

Just about through 2 weeks now and I have transferred into 4” Rockwool cube as roots were coming out from root it cube...will be keeping the low powered LED lamp on them for a while now until I transfer again to the flo gro.

Transplanted into Flo gro 500 this week. Feeding schedule is for pump to come on for 10 mins every 12 hours...water temp is between 17 And 21c average 20c most of the time.

I have applied some low stress training to manipulate the shape. Just waiting for it to pack on some more height so I can top

I have topped this week and turned the drip pump on 24/7 now....also upgraded airstone pump to a twin pump to maximise oxygen levels due to the 30c heatwave England is having. Frozen ice bottles and watered down nutes is a must until the heat dies down or until flowering tent is free (air con machine in tent)

Transferred into my 600w tent a few weeks early due to the heat. My 1.6m x 1.6m tent is equipped with a cool tube,fan controller and portable air con to keep things comfortable. I’ve applied some low and high stress training this week and some topping. Just giving it a couple more weeks max before I take some cuttings.

She’s exploded in growth this week, still keep topping and training (low stress) and pruning away. After seeing MagicMikesMeds grow diary and chatting with him I’ve decided to take some cuttings and give it a go. If I’m successful with the clones one will be a mother and 3 will go in the nft for a couple of weeks then flip into flowering.

I’m so pleased with how’s she’s turning out, she’s such a resilient plant. I have been applying the method of massaging the main steam till it flops over just so it grows at a more even height. Just waiting on 3 clones to root into the rockwool blocks so I can get them into the nft gt424 and then flip them to flower. The rest of the clones will go through a selection process to find a mother to keep and give away the others to a fellow grower.

Finally got all my cuttings rooted and managed to get 3 of them in to the nft. They have spent 2 days in and I’ve now put them into flowering. My big girl is a whopping 3ft now and she stinks. I’ve never grown a plant so big in veg before. Hopefully she don’t take over too much space or I’ll have have to evict the others to make room. I won’t be changing any nutes just yet, I’ll introduce / mix in flowering nutes once the stretch is over.

She’s a monster now, stretching is just about over and the pre flowers are out. She’s drinking about 5ltrs of water a day so because of that im just topping up with ph water and cal mag. Will be switching to flowering nutes in a couple of days. The little ones are doing ok in the nft, 2 of the 3 are doing very well.

I’ve had to throw a net over and pull it down just to maintain the growth. I’ve switched to flowering nutes now. She’s drinking over 5L of water a day

Nothing new to report in really. She is producing lots of bud sites and starting to get smelly. I’m trying some PK9-18 from Buddha Tree which was recommended by a fellow grower. I’m currently having to top up 8ltrs of water a day now because she so big.

Well things are coming on pretty nicely, lots and lots of buds popping up everywhere, not much height put on now just weight. Still drinking 8ltrs of water a day.

Increased nutrients this week with positive results and also chucked in some Dutch pro explode to help boost things. Bud seems to be growing everywhere now. I reckon I have another week or two before I change my hps bulb to a sunmaster 600w 10k finishing bulb to help boost uv-b exposure and get my buds nice and frosty, I will possibly add a 600w LED light to help supplement with the 10k bulb.

I’m now using my 10k uv-b finishing bulb with my hps for the last 2 weeks to boost oil production while I’m going through the flush phase for 2 weeks. She’s nearly ready now....can’t wait.

These pics were taken just before she was chopped today. I’ve been flushing 10 days of pure ph water. Microscope showing 30% amber, 60% plastic white and 10% glass trichs so to me I’d say it was ready. Will post harvest report once I have it dried and weighed

Well it’s all dried and stored away for the cure now. Had to anticipate for high humidity because of the uk weather so used a dehumidifier to help things along in drying. Fantastic strain to grow with minimal problems. Smells of musk and spices in the jar but once you crack a bud you get a sweet creamy smell...the smoke holds onto that creamy cookie taste with a soothing faint cherry undertone. It was fun watching my big girl grow but next time scrog scrog scrog if I decide to go big, she could of done better that way but it was fun and I learned something onthe way. I also used a 10k uv-b metal halide finishing bulb from sunmaster and the end of my grow and I was very impressed with how it helped produce some very sticky and smelly buds. I would recommend this bulb to anyone, I was sceptical at first but after a few days I could see the difference in resin production.
