Can’t wait to blaze this tempt purple punch cross! I’m running a data log on the drying process and weight lost day by day. Let’s get an exact percentage of weight lost. I will post when 7 day dry at 60F/60%RH is complete.
So I wanted to do an experiment to see what the rate of total weight loss is day by day under a controlled drying environment so here it is:
Purple Aliens
Purple Punch x Aliens OG
Wet weight after trimming and cutting branch by branch: 390 g. Bud with stem weight deducted in final weighing (no trim weight included)
IMG_1463.JPG
Day: Recorded Weight (Recorded Temp./RH)
Day 1: 390g (63F/62%RH)
Day 2: 197g (65F/56%RH)
Day 3: 160.4g (66F/59%RH)
Day 4: 139g (67F/55&RH)
Day 5: 133g (61F/60%RH)
Day 6: 128g (64F/59%RH)
Day 7: 123g (60F/61%RH)
Final Weight 123g (with stems)
- 26g (stem weight)
Final Dried Bud Weight: 97g (buds only) 24.87% of wet weight
I hope this gives everyone a better idea of what their yield will potentially look like if you wet trim. Good Vibes and Happy Growing!
First - love the analytical approach. Thanks for doing the work on the drought/light dep approach.
Ballpark - about how much did you turn the light down during ‘daylight’ hrs on a percentage basis?
For drought, did you soak her first? Or would that be counterproductive.
@Laxzeus32 decent watering with recharge cal mag and kelp then a 6 day drought. The key is a nice rehydration and feeding when the drought is over. The study was 11 day drought however, I cut the drought time down do to using CO2 since plants drink more water and nutrients with CO2 at 1000-1200 ppm. The light Deprivation was 11 hours of light a day for the last week of life with 13 hrs off. During the drought I dimmed the lights to about 80% with viparspectra p4000. Also, with uvb supplemental 15 in am at lights on and 15 mins pm at lights off before bed. Just enough to stimulate a response to produce more trichomes during the day and ditto that at night. Too much uvb and it will burn the leaves so keep it simple. It is key to have the temp and humidity at 75-80 F at the highest and a nice low 35-40% RH
