7/27 started germination
8/5 germinated replacement AP and BB, 18/6 light schedule originally about 35% power but plants were stretching to much even with light close so raised light to 24" and upped power to 100% over a weeks time and they loved it. Watered as neeed, usually every 2-3 days with tap water drawn days prior to off gas. The soil I used was Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Topped them once 5th set of leaves grew.
9/7 started 12/12 light cycle and top dressed with 2cps worm castings, 1/4cp 4/4/4, 1/2cp 3/9/4, 1/2cp budswell. Minor prune and lolipop.
9/16 installed trellis net, rewove to further out squares as needed over next week or so as plants stretched. Gave them a shot of CaMg+.
9/27 another light top dressing. 1/4cp budswell, 1/4cp 3/9/4 and 1cp wormcastings.
10/2 another dose of CaMg+ and some molasses.
10/8 day 30 of flowering. AG has been getting frosty and smells like lemonade. This plant has been a beast from the start, dwarfing the other plants which needed to be put on risers when the net was put in place to even out the canopy. This beauty is 30" tall.
The Blueberry has a faint berry smell. I had to pull 3 branches away from the netting to prevent buds growing around the net. This one is the runt at 15".
The AP measures in at 17" has a slight floral note to it and has just started to develope some frost and orange flecks in its white trusses.
The Banana Bomb seems to be a little behind its siblings in bud formation. Thinking I should have pruned more of the smaller stuff off so it wouldn't have to divert energy to so much getting as bushy as it did. It has been catching up in the last few days though and is 22" tall.
Haven't raised the light yet and hoping the stretch is over with only about 4" left of adjustment before I'll have to modify the way the light is hung to gain more room. Gave them some more CalMg with some leaves on the Blueberry and AP telling me they need it.
10/16 Top dressed them for the last time with 1cp worm castings, 1/2cp 3/9/4, 1/4cp budswel each. Wet weather has caused higher than normal humidity this week, so I placed a dehumidifier in the tent to counter that. All are bulking up. the Alaskan and Blueberry especially. The scents are getting stronger, fruity and floral.
It has been a crazy week so the the plants didn't get the attention they, well one of them needed. The Blueberry has taken on a ph and or nute issue. Run off tested good so I upped the CaMg+ dose for the Blueberry and added a small dose of Bio Thrive Bloom for added Magnesium and Sulfur. Also since the Blueberry was 4" shorter than the rest of the canopy I stuck a piece of styrofoam under it to make it a little more even.
I noticed since i rushed last weeks entry I must have reused the previous week info and accidently erased that weeks pictures.
Due to continued wet weather I had to put a dehumidifier in the tent to keep RH below 65%. With temps getting cooler outside and turning the heat on that shouldn't be a problem much longer since the furnace drops the RH to 30-40% when it is running regularly.
10/28 day 51 of flower. All but the Banana have a strong smell, either fruity or floral and candylike. The issue with the Blueberry stopped spreading but it did damage some leaves making them brittle. The AG isn't getting as dense and filled out as much as the other 3 but is a lot frostier and the strongest smelling. RH has leveled out in the mid 50's
11/4 day 58 of flower and day 98 total for the Acapulco and Blueberry and day 90 overall for the Banana and Alaskan. The smells are awesome and looking like they are getting close to harvest. Trichomes are mostly milky, leaves are turning colour, lots of purple on the Alaskan, a little on the Blue and yellow/burgundy on the Acapulco. I can't wait to try these out, I've grown an Alaskan before and even though that was a trouble filled grow and didn't develope good buds, it was still great tasting and frosty, this one should be way better. If I still have a pic of the first AP I'll post it for comparison.
Oh almost forgot, in the center of the canopy there were a few curled leaves so I raised my light the rest of its adjustment, so it went from 16" to almost 20" over the tallest tops.
Busy week not a lot of time to do a proper weeks entry, working retail sucks during the holidays. The first half of the pictures are from 11/9 and the rest from 11/13 and are not grouped by plant as normal. Pics don't really show it but trichomes are showing some amber on all so thinking lights out on Wed or Thur for Fri or Sat harvest. I might leave the Acapulco as it looks to be still filling out, for another week??? Hopefully the wonderful aromas that are overpowering the charcoal filter, translate to great tasting smoke.
Shut the lights out Wed on day 70 of flower and cut them down this morning. Next batch will will be autoflowers, Fastbuds Orange Sherbert, Lineage Genetics Grapefruit, Royal Queen Seeds Fat Banana, either a Canuks White Widow and or a Fastbuds Northern Lights depending on whether I decide to grow 4 or 5. But since I don't plan on starting that for at least a month I'm using the tent for the drying process. This should make it easier to control RH as now with the furnace on now it can drop to 30% in the house. Good for flowering but not for a slow dry.
I will fill my harvest weeks out once dry and I weigh and jar for curing.
Been drying for a week now, still have a few more days before ready to jar for curing. I did test a small bud off of each to see how it is.
The Banana is smooth and smells like Fruity Pebbles cereal.
The Blueberry smells like blueberries with a slight hint of cheese, I wouldn't say its harsh but it does tickle enough to get coughing on bigger hits.
The Alaskan Purple lost its floral scent and now smells kind of fuelish and sour. It is dense a.f. and looks like it was rolled in sugar and the purple colors make it the most colorful stuff I've seen in person.
The Acapulco Gold still has a lemon/lime scent, tastes good and as of now seems to be the more potent of the 4. This is another one that is covered in trichomes.
Can't wait to see what all are like once properly dried and cured.
Great strain, smells like mixed fruit with a banana undertone. Has a faint banana taste and is very smooth smoking. Very dense when cut but seems a little airy now that it has cured for 3 weeks. I think I could have had much better results if I hadn't let it get as bushy and had been better about taking the lower/smaller bud sites off to concentrate more energy to the tops but even so I can't complain with the results. Dry wt. doesn't include trim for dry sift or test samples taken during drying and curing.
Still learning as I go, could be better but also a lot worse. Still have 3 beans of this strain so we'll see how those turn out for comparison when I don't leave as many of the smaller bud sites.
For some reason it keeps changing the wt harvested from 100.5 grams to 2800 when I save the week, I have tried editing it twice to 100.5.
Buds look awesome, colorful, dense and sugar coated. But the scent took a turn for the worse. While growing had a pleasent floral note to it but the last week or so and now dried and cured has a rank smell almost like burnt rubber. I will admit to not smoking much of this because of the smell. The flavors are nothing like the grape flavor of the first run, this time its almost like butter and licorice. But i havent tried it with a full cure yet, hopefully it got better.
Had high hopes as this was my favorite strain from my very first grow, but even though it looks better and was a trouble free grow, kind of disapointed with the the result this time.
Only plant that showed major signs of nutrient and or ph problems, but still turned out pretty good. Seemed to need a lot more CalMg than her other tent mates and was a little more stunted as well.
This has got A1 genetics, took off from from germination and never looked back dwarfing the other girls in the tent from day 1. No issues, no spotting on the leaves, strongest smelling. Had to be careful when watering, just barely nicking this plant made it look like you had honey on your arm. I think I made the same mistake as I did with the Banana Bomb by letting it get a little too bushey and not cleaning off enough of the minor bud sites, but still ended up with some great smoke in spite of that.
@Cannabeast40, Thank you, didn't have much luck outdoors with the wet and humid weather we had here, lost most to mold, but this should make up for it.
Hello, I have the same light, seedlings are 4 days old, I used the recommended distance/% by sonofarm but they're stretching a lot, then I did 25 inch 50% and wasn't enough, after reading your comment I increased to 100% just not but I'm really worried they'll burn, any advice? isn't this light supposed to be like spider farmer 4k I don't understand why they stretch thought to even put my old burpe lights back, I hope to hear gum you asap, as I'm I am panic mode and there isn't many users of this light out there 🙏
@Jelka, coverage shouldn't be an issue, the light will flower a 4×4 area. My tent is 4×5 without the divider to make it 4×4, so I lose some reflectivity on the one side with the light centered over the 4× grow area and the light has been great. Once I put it to 100% I've only turned it down to take pictures or while pruning for less eye stress. I kept it roughly 18in over the top kolas the whole time. The heighth difference your plants have could be just a different phenotype, not all are the same. My plants have almost a foot difference between the shortest and tallest. So to keep the canopy close to level, I propped the shorter ones up with clean styrofoam and 1/4 pallets. If they are already 25in you're going to have to start thinking about how much room you'll have between the light and plants when they hit the "stretch" and possibly double in size during flowering. You can control height with Low Stress Training, Topping, ScrOG net along with adjusting the light. The Journal tab on here has some helpful articles on how to do these methods and people like Bill Ward and Mr Canucks Grow have informative videos on Youtube. Hope this helps you with your grow.
@Vt_Kind thanks for the reply, the light is at 75% at 25 inches now 18 days old, I have 5 plants 3 gallon under this light in 4x4, so it's tricky to get them all positioned correctly, as the biggest plant is now the smallest cause its the one at the edge of the light, so maybe if i increase the distance to 30 inches and set it to 90% or 100% might help cover all plants? or I might just Increase the light at the current distance, no clue what I'm doing, happy grow, and any videos and info. regarding this light is much appreciated.
@Jelka, Hi, When I upped the light to 100% the only issue I had was the plants got almost to bushy with the nodes growing really close together, so much so leaves were kind of interweaving. I had no light burn issues at 24 inches above the plants, so maybe putting the light higher up or dialing it back 10% might have made the nodes spaced a little farther apart but the plants made it just fine. I haven't had any experiance with Spiderfarmer lights but the Sonofarm seems to be a great light. Its now sitting only 16 inches from the tallest tops, since i ran out of adjustment with the way i have it set up. Since it didnt seem to cause any problems i decided to wait until the plants finish before i modify the way the light is hung now so i can raise it higher for future grows. I do want to compare my 600w hps to the Sonofarm at some point as i haven't had an issue free grow with the hps to be able to compare it to this crop with the Sono which has been my best grow to date.
Will be starting an autoflower grow in the next week or so, sorry it took so long to do the harvest report out for this run.
Happy growing, drink milk and keep it to the right, or left for our U.K. friends.
Hey man I just bought this light and noticed a huge difference between the ppfd map and actual measured ppfd. Do you notice this as well? In only reading like 1k when I should be getting 2700
Awesome garden friend, it is one of the best I ever seen, really.
I wish you the best
