Germination

-This will be my first bloody skunk auto seed. It will go in the water for 18 hours then directly into the soil. - Will update how I made my soil in week one of veg. - This seed will go under my vegetable light in my closet for a couple of weeks until my tent is free. - If it starts to flower before my tent is ready, I have a Spider Farmer sf-1000 in my basement for Vegetables and will put it under that until my tent is ready. - This is just the first of many bloody skunk autos to come. - Oct 9, 2021: After ~ 20 hours in a glass of water, the Bloody Skunk Auto Seed from @SweetSeeds has popped open. - I placed it directly into homemade soil to finish the germination stage. - I also placed a transparent cover on the top to keep the moisture in. - I only sprayed the center of the pot with water so as to not over water. This spray has a small amount of SuperThrive in it. - Will update what the soil is made out of in week 1 of veg.

How long does everyone keep the cover on their seedlings before exposing them to the flow of air via fans? Some people remove the covers as soon as they pop. Others keep them on for a couple of weeks. Let's start the conversation :)

In 35+ years of growing, I have NEVER covered my seeds or seedlings, only clones NEED extra humidity. Cannabis is not a rainforest plant! Seeds need good air exchange to germinate and air circulation for health and strength once they sprout. There is no NEED for a cover of any sort, this is an outdated myth from the 1960s. Nice choice of breeder though, all their genetics are "A grade" ! Hope this helps, Organoman.

Has anyone ever had the inside of the seed stay on and keep the two cotyledon leaves together? The outer hard shell has come off. I've been spraying it to try and soak it off but it's quite hard. Anyone ever successfully deal with this or will it just pop off on its own?

Yes, spray with water and take some fine tweezers and remove the membrane. I’ve done it several times. It’ll be fine.

October 21, 2021: - Just added water for the first week and a half. Added ~ 400mL of water a couple of days ago. This was the first medium soak this girl had received. - The leaves look healthy and the stem is green and strong. - The white powder you see on my plants and on my soil is diatomaceous earth. - She is in my vegetable closet with other plants under the Spider-Farmer SF-600 light.
