In 6 Weeks my wife and I will be going on vacation for 2 weeks. I originally wanted to grow this plant organicly in Coco but I will not be able to water it while on vacation so decided to move the plant over to a Kratky or DWC as the plant will be fine for 2 weeks in a 5 gallon res.
Transplanted the seedling into hydro. Removed the plant from the Coco by washing the roots with plain water. Split a rapid rooter in half after soaking in 600ppm seedling mix hydro solution. Placed the rapid rooter in a net cup lid for a 5 gallon bucket. Filled a bucket with 600 ppm seedling solution and made the water level 1/2-3/4 inch inside the cup. Placed hydroton pelets in the cup and surrounded the rapid rooter.
Will have to hand water for the next few days until the roots can reach down to the solution. I did the same with a cutting of Blue Dream last week and it did not take long for the roots to make it to the water line.
I added a table spoon of Dr. Maryjane solution (mixed 2 dry grams per liter in an opaque contaner) to the 1.5 gallons of solution. Same benificial bactiria as Hydroguard. Hydroguard is hard to find in Canada but Dr Maryjane keeps the root rot at bay.
