Welcome to my attempt to grow a strawberry sorbet in 30g of Coco... The plan will be to veg her for 21 days once she's out and then straight into a 12/12.
No idea how this will go but it is all good fun.
The container is in fact a tea strainer with 20 micron mesh. I was hoping it will air prune and I will feed by dunning into a cup of feed so there will be no down pressure on the substrate.
Well dragon strawberry sorbet has breached and I think I may have had her in a bad spot under the sp150 last week as I feel she was not getting enough photons and she has stretched looking for light.. I'm gonna get creative with bend her later today to keep her down a bit.
Otherwise she seems fine in her tiny tea strainer.

Baby dragon strawberry sorbet was tied down and lost 5cm of her height and now has a nice coil in her stem. She looks a bit off in pics as she did not appreciate being tied down but I chose to ignore her..
Now she is fine and has rotated back around and growth to the light continues.
Had a lot of roots start to come through the holes in strainer an thought I had blown it and it was gonna turn into a root all but they air dried and self pruned... Can't believe this is working..
Tune in next week.. I have no idea what will happen. Lol

This poor poor girl. She dried out has suffered massive issues with lock out cal mag off.. whatever. I was too busy keeping the other room happy I kind of took my eye off the ball with this little girl.
So. I have controlled her EC to a 0.8 and give her 4 or 5 waterings by hand a day. I don't really know volume I pour until I have run off at the EC I want..
She will come good I think as long as I keep a closer eye on her. All new growth is showing greener even though tips are burned from the substrate being too hot after it dried . I think she will he fine..
Just some low doses of humic acid more roots and some growzyme. A little spray with fastplants spray before lights off
Fingers crossed she will come back from my abuse😭🌿

Just can't get on top of this girl. She keeps drying to quick and I can't keep up with her.. she needs 100ml 10 times a day as the Coco dries so quick. I'm looking at setting up an auto feeder for her.
Still showing signs of unhappy substrate slight improvement over last week.
As things are getting more automated with my flower room I hope to have more time for the solo.

Don't know what to say. This was a lot more challenging then I expected.. I will do some more solo cups for personal development but I don't feel I have helped this lady very much. Early life was just not managed and I think she is all messed up.
She goes into the flower room today as per the green buzz solo cup rules. 5 weeks veg so that's forced that hand. She looks better now then in the past and new growth stays green if not a tad small🤔.
Added some grow and will just see how this pans out.

She's been in a 12/12 for a week now but not looking like any transition is happening yet.

Hello growmies.. you know what she looks okay now.. new leaf is green and lush and she pushed a whole node in the last week.
Feeds up to around 1.5 all is good and I see some flower sites
Come back next week for some kind of surprise.. I don't know what's going to happen but I feel I know what she needs now and I have a nice routine with her..
I don't think solo cups are so bad anymore..😜

My little strawberry sorbet goes well. She has flowers at least and all her new growth appears to be in good health.
Feeds are down to around 4 a day not really sure how much just squirt until I've had some runoff. I guess going through a litre of EC 1.4 every 2-3 days..
I have made a deal with BudXs to smoke the entire harvest in one. Dunno about that but will try..🤪

Ha. She's still alive. She's got quite the little bud on her now and smells actually pretty decent. Not much in the way of frost on this girl but for 30g of Coco and a heavy hand I'm very happy with her.
I will just keep her going as the flower room is running anyway. I can't remember the flower time allowed for this challenge? Maybe someone who knows could remind me in the comments..👍🏼

Last week for the solo dragon cup. She's not gonna get any bigger and I'm pushing my luck she will just end up a bud of seeds..
So next Saturday she comes down for a weigh in and a lol..

So much learned about nutes. Particularly green buzz nutes. This was a fun experiment and I shall take the lessons learned and carry them forward with future grows.
What to say.18g wet from 14 weeks. But it was about the journey not the destination on this one. And we learned a fair bit along the way. Glad I did it and got some cool swag from GBL for doing it too. Thanks for the hats nutes and beans.. 💚💚💚

@Mrs_Larimar, great advice Mrs. L! I've been growing less than a year. You're right, every next grow I feel closer and closer to the plant and having that symbiotic, 2-way relationship with them. I will definitely watch those videos, see tutorial diaries and just keep on making mistakes so I can keep on learning! Thanks!!!

looking vidos from bruce bugbee, reading tons of books like ed rosenthal, kyle kushmanetc.... listening to other growers, and failing....
i learned alot in answering ( trying to anser) growquestions... and reading the answers of the other growers
Nice. I have a similar strainer I use for coffee when camping....makes the coffee taste like shit and was gonna toss it but now I will copy ur idea if u don’t mind :P
So it did air prune on its own due to tea infuser cup!?! Nice! I might just try this! Will probably use soil as I don’t have any spare coco… any additional advice for a first time cup grower?
@Theia, definitely my next aide project grow!! I do have some light mix left too! I don't know anything about EC... but I will read up on that! And thanks for the offer of advice! Always appreciate grow vets sharing their knowledge to noobs like me!

Lightmix I think would have been better then Coco. Too much time needed. EC and pH seem to be vital in such a low amounts of substrate.
Lots more I'm sure but it's one of those I don't think I have learned anything until I am doing it in a practical way..🤪.
