3/12 - seed #2 has sprouted! Let's see if I learned anything from round 1.
3/17 - Day 6 - Didn't mention it before, but growing with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil mixed with extra perlite. Using a 2 gallon smart pot.
Anyways, I'm really struggling with low RH again. I have a humidifier right outside the intake fan yet it's still hovering around 30%. I think I'll have to step up to an actual grow tent to correct that issue. But we'll see, my last plant did alright with similar low humidity as well.
3/24 - Day 12 - this one is really slow out the gates so far. leaves have been droopy all along too like I'm overwatering, but I've only watered once so far, and that was a week ago. soil was dry at least 2 inches down today so I said fuck it and watered. also added 1/4 strength nutes even though I'm in FFOF, which I know is a hot soil. but I want to see if that'll help Jumpstart some growth. can't really afford such a slow start with this auto, it's supposed to have a short lifespan. so we'll see how she responds!
3/29 Day 17 - Looks like growth is picking up. Leaves were nice and perky until today when they started drooping. I always thought I was overwatering, but maybe I'm not watering enough? Soil didn't feel dry that far down, but I figure I'll try and water it anyways to see if it's droopy because of thirst instead.
I'm also seeing a tiny bit of discoloration on the leaves, so I moved the light away a bit further, and added a small bit of calmag. Hoping the extra nitrogen wont be an issue. But hey, I'm here to learn, and what better way than trial and error?
4/4 Day 23 - This crazy chick is starting to flower already! I'm really hoping for some explosive growth the next few weeks or this will be one tiny plant. Pics are right before watering so she'll perk back up by morning. Added one more round of calmag to be safe, added in carboload, and will start Bud X next watering most likely. Weird how small this one is compared to my previous grow, especially because the environment is so much more dialed in this round. But besides the size, she's looking good!
4/6 Day 26 - starting a little LST. It's still a tiny one but I figured why not.
4/11 Day 30 - this plant is so tiny! I'm pretty bummed as at this rate, I'll be lucky to get a quarter off it. I'm almost ready to just trash it and start over but I'll let her go an see what happens.
4/12 Day 31 - turning the temps down slightly, really want to bring out the colors in this one. If I won't get a lot, at least they'll look nice. Hopefully.
4/15 Day 34 - leaves got droopy again even though soil wasn't super dry. Watered anyways, added in B52 nutes as well.
Watered on 4/20, going to stop any LST now and just let her bulk up. At most some leaf tucking, even though it's tough to hold off, LST is addicting. But looks like the lower temps are working to start bringing out that color. It's a real short one but I'm hoping she puts on a lot of weight!
4/25 Day 44: some pretty explosive growth the last few days! Just doing some leaf tucking, nothing else for now. Moved my LED a bit closer too. Starting to get a bit of a stank and the blue colors are starting to show up. I'm excited, shes turning out much nicer than it looked just a few weeks ago! Now let's just hope she keeps bulking up.
4/28 Day 47: I just couldn't help myself, gave my girl a decent haircut. Got rid of lots of the lower fan leaves that were blocking lots of light and airflow. Should let the hidden buds get lots more light to bulk up, and less energy will go to those fan leaves and go to the buds. I just hope it doesn't stress her too bad.
5/1 Day 50 - last watering with Big Bud, just B52 one or two more times, then it's probably flushing time (if I even decide to flush, didn't first grow and that ended up just fine)
5/5 Day 54 - watered again, just the trio and B52. I feel like I'm getting close, probably water with plain water next time and then cut it down a few days later or add a 2nd plain water cycle, depending on the trichomes. It's hard to tell but I think they're just starting to get cloudy. Saw a few ambers but just a few.
5/8 Day 57 - decided to try out a late flower haircut. My RH remains pretty high and she was pretty dense in the middle so I wanted to get more airflow in there to avoid any mold. This also exposed a lot more of the small budsites to the light, so hopefully that helps them bulk up a bit more. Still think I'm a week or 2 away from harvest at most.
5/10 Day 59 - watered with just plain water today, will give it another 5 days and see, either harvest then or water again and harvest 5 days after that. Definitely getting close though!
5/15 Day 64 - flushed today, showing about 10% amber but then also new pistils still sprouting so I dunno what's going on. But I will reevaluate in 5 days and see if I water 1 more time or chop her. I really think knowing when she's done is the most underrated difficult part of this process.
5/19 Day 68 - harvest time! Weird plant, saw lots of amber but then a bunch of white pistils were popping up as well. Am leaving town in a few weeks so I had my hand forced a bit anyways so I decided to cut her down. Only 112 grams wet, with a lot of foliage, so I'm thinking I'll end up with a halfie or so once dried and trimmed. Haven't decided if I want to wet or dry trim yet, will watch my RH for a few days and decide then.
