Germination
Started germinating seeds in a glass of spring water on Oct 15/21. Once the taproots started showing the seeds were moved to 1.5 gallon fabric pots to finish the process. Seeds are from autoflower.ca and are feminized auto flower seeds.

Little more growth, this was my surgery recovery week so I’ve missed done documentation and I wasn’t here for a couple days only had a friend checking in. 24 hour light schedule some days and they didn’t get any more leggy after day 8 because I introduced a fan and increased light schedule. Using a bit of root booster in watering schedule but careful not to over do it.

Stilly leggy but added some more soil with organic compost on top and they seem to be holding up ok. Lighting I think is an issue but I’ve had some days with 24 hour light and this when I notice a lot of growth. Still have the fan on throughout the day to try and help strengthen them up. Uploaded a video for day 23. Seeing new growth every day and I’m getting excited 😆 Makes me want to start germinating more! I also added another 65 watt LED full spectrum grow light.

Starting week 4 by moving the plants to another part of my apartment and added a 65 watt LED full spectrum light to see if that helps. Still leggy looking but they hold up on their own so that can’t be a bad sign right? Watered today with 250 ml each of just straight spring water no extra nutes just what’s in the soil. That will be all the water for 2-3 days. Hoping for some good growth over the next week like last time. *Update* I found a great deal on a grow tent with carbon filter system (Spider Farmer) and stronger light (Mars TS1000) plus several other items and I could not turn it down. Pictures and more updates to come! I uploaded a video to show the new setup. *Day 29* Added 250 ml of water each with Hydrogarden TNT growth solution. 1ml per 250 ml. The new setup is great for controlling temp and humidity. Hovering around 40% but I have a humidifier just in case. Loving the new light too.

Wondering if this is some sort of deficiency or maybe I’m overthinking? I know I overwater sometimes and I’m trying to get that under control however my other plant doesn’t look like this it’s more solid green. Temp is at 75 daily and humidity is 35-40%.

Humidity seems a bit low but this looks like the plant is overstrained by water. I would let her dry out while raising the humidity up to 60 or at least 50%. Good Luck and Happy Grow 💚🌱🌈👍

Entering week 5 and I’m hoping things bounce back or they are least looking better. I haven’t watered in three days due to trying to dry out the medium (because of overwatering lol) but I will give them a very small portion of what I normally do today as the soil is feeling pretty dry today and I have to leave for about 24 hours. Leaves do look a bit better in my opinion and they both seem to be still ok. Ever since I got the grow tent I’ve setup an 18/6 automated light scheduled so maybe all the stress of a new home and new lighting schedule and humidity levels didn’t help. Any advice/tips are always welcome! Update - It’s amazing what a couple days can do. I was gone longer then I anticipated but my friend checked in to make sure they were good. I added 5 pictures at the end and white pistils are starting to appear and the leaves aren’t drooping anymore. Week is almost up, I think we are in the flowering stage now with both plants or perhaps in another few days?

Should I prune any of these leaves or just let it go au naturel? If so what should I prune? I’d hate to kill it by removing something I shouldn’t.

Not even close. You dont need to defoliate until the lighting is being significantly restricted to lower portions of the plant. Normally 4-5 weeks for autos, and usually about 5-7 weeks for regs/fems (about a week before flower) and then a second time for regs/fems about 3 weeks in to flower

So flowering has started and I’m really excited to see how the next couple weeks go. Soil is dry enough I think for another watering today but I may wait to avoid any overwatering issues. Will add bloom nutrients but under recommended measurements. Day 43 - Not much new to report, things are still looking good and both girls continue to grow each day ☺️ Added a couple pictures with some closeups.

Week 7 has commenced and so begins the 2nd week or flowering! Both girls are looking great and they are drinking more, usually it’s today I’d be watering but I had to water yesterday as I noticed the lower leaves and their branches drooping. She perked right up though! I’ll be gone most of the weekend so I’ll have a friend check in on the for me. Added some veg nutes yesterday to see if we can get her to stretch a bit more. *** Update Dec 8 3021*** So watering has proven tricky some days. I thought I over watered two days ago but after 12 hours the plant perked right up! Today same thing but I think I’m overthinking and the plant is doing it flower stretch? Either way I think she looks ok and I make sure to constantly monitor it.

Week 8 of flowering and she is growing still. Bud sites are peaking out on the King Gelato and same with the Green Crack. The fan leaves are either moving out of the way or they are just coming up in between them. Just letting it go au naturel right now. Still feeding veg nutrients but maybe for only one more feeding we’ll see. Some days the leaves on the bottom droop down and then I’ll check on it later in the day and it’s fine. Not going to stress or mess with it unless it really needs it. ***Dec 13 - So King Gelato seems to have a potential calcium issue. I thought maybe overwatered but the schedule hasn’t been diverted or changed. Fed it this morning with CM Plus and water which was ph 6.25 so we’ll see what she looks like in the coming days. ***Dec 16 -I decided to pull the plug on King Gelato. I think it was my fault with the watering and after looking at the soil it was destined to fail. You live you learn.

So after 24 hours of feeding it CM Plus it doesn’t look any better. I’m hoping there is not another underlying issue. Environment remains the same. Pics are 24 hours apart. Or will it take a few days + before seeing improvements?

How are you watering? With fabric pots it is difficult to over water but it is easy to under water. Many people just pour water around the plant in the middle. This leaves the rest of the soil dry and roots only grow in moist soil. In an extreme case you can have a plant act root bound because it's roots are only in the area you water. With fabric pots you will use a lot of water. When the plant has only 3 or 5 nodes you might water every other day but when the plants get larger they may need watering every day. Water the entire surface of the soil, paying attention to give more water to the perimeter than the core. There is more soil around the edge of the pot and that is where evaporation is high. Fabric pots make it easy though. Water slowly from the top. If water erupts from the side of the pot water more slowly. Water and let it soak in a minute then water more. You should see or feel the outside of the pot get damp. You want the entire outer surface of the fabric pot to get damp. It can take 5 minutes or more for the water to soak all the way to the bottom but you want it all to get damp; sides and bottom. Once you've done that pick up your pot and get to know the weight. When it is dry it is noticeably lighter. Then the next day if the sides of your pot are dry and the pot is light water again. If the sides are still wet the next day, skip watering and check the next day.

So I pulled the plug on the King Gelato it progressively got worse each day so I decided to cut my losses. It happens you live and you learn. Green Crack seems to be going well still she continues to flower and I’ve switched to bloom nutrients for when I feed. I’m hoping she will be ready to harvest by the end of next month maybe earlier. Watered her today and was careful to make sure I got around the edges of the pot and also around her. **Dec 21** Added a photo to show progress. Flowering seems to be going well this won’t be a huge yield but I’m wok with that still excited to see how she turns out. Smells pretty good right now too! She’s shifted her focus to the buds as the lower leaves have gone yellow on some.

I am behhind 2 days posting an update because of Christmas however she is still doing good! Looks like the plant has shifted all the focus to the buds and she smells great! I was going to cut off the leaves that were looking hurting on the bottom but figured I’d just leave them be until they fall off. Maybe a few more weeks before she’s ready? I’ll keep everyone updated and posted as always 😉 ***Dec 28/21*** Added some new pictures, looks great and smells great! I hope the buds keep fattening up 🤤

Still looking and smelling great. Still not ready for harvesting but it’s getting close. Fed some more bloom nutrients today and I will continue to monitor the trichromes. Can’t wait to enjoy the fruit! ***Jan 5 2022*** Trichromes are getting milkier but still waiting on more amber like ones. Will continue to monitor it and also adjust schedules depending on the progress. Photo I uploaded isn’t the greatest but it still helps determine where I am.

Watered this morning with straight water and ph reduction. I may do that for the rest of the duration of her, not seeing amber trichromes but they are cloudy and milky. May cut her down end of this week or Monday next week will continue to monitor. She smells great and very frosty and sticky looking! ***Jan 12*** She really thickened up and looks and smells so tasty!! Still thinking I will move to 48 hour dark spot and then harvest and start drying and curing on the 17th. My guess was always Jan 15th for the harvest day so I think we are good. I’ll know by the weekend. ***Jan 14*** Sunday or Monday I will move her into the dark or maybe do one last watering and then when she dries out no more. She smells very dank and the bud sites all got bigger. Very happy with her so far!

This is it, one or two more days in the tent and then I’m moving her to another room to stay in the dark for 24 hours and then I’ll cut and trim and hang to dry. Very strong smell coming from the buds hopefully it tastes good! I used a jewellers loupe to examine the buds and they look ready so here we go!

So my first grow is just about done. Cut and trimmed and now hanging in the dark to try for a bit before transferring to jars to cure. Wet weight is 1.2 oz so I’m assuming maybe 10-14 grams once fully dry? We’ll see though. The smell went from super strong and smelly to still smell but almost some citrusy grapefruit like hints I definitely want to smoke some soon but I’ll be patient! Had a lot of fun and learned a lot of things. I’ll keep everyone posted on the final product 😉
