This week was slow and I have lost all my sprouting pics up to week three so I’m be a bout a couple weeks behind on picture progress. But the grandmommy is growing just perfect and loves all purpose fertilizer.
This week is like seedling stage it takes forever to start out but this time was easy. She sprouted out and within a week was growing nodes and praying to the led light.
I lost my pics of this weeks entry Somehow they got erased so I’m going to add next weeks progress so I don’t get behind. The leaves and branches are reaching out great and I don’t believe I’m going to top this one. . Just grow her out and flower as much as possible.
I’m lost and mainline her like I do my autos because her genetic is growing just like one. Only good advantage to that is I can make really good clones and also have cola sites where popcorn buds would usually be if I do this right. I’m only gonna do a minor defoliant and clone cutting at week two of flower and take top fans off at flower to see what she does. With a ten gallon fabric pot I’m aiming for a pound, at least challenging it if they reach the 60-100 cms like it says it does.
I mainlined and cut anything lower to reach up except a few sprouts for clones at week 2-3 of flower cause of the genetic. I’m going to let them reach up and flip over to 12-12 and blow out some colas as high as I can get them.
I was going to have the intention of letting it veg for a good 12 or 13 weeks before I flipped over but then I decided that I was going to run her 12 hrs because of the rate she is rapidly growing. For future reference if anybody decides to grow grandmommy purple, she grows very fast. Extremely fast. My week 4 and this weeks photos are three days apart and there is a four inch difference which notes how fast she raises up for light. I have defoliate twice all the lowers and not once did she wilt over or stress out. It’s very resilient to stress training so if your one of us growers who like to met up and tuck as far over as you can, this is the ladie for you. I bend over and she reaches hours later.
This was a very good week for the grandmommy purple at least. Her clones are almost thre nodes high and throwing pistils before her first week is over. But unfortunately for the royal queens shogun seedling it’s not so good news of a week. My washer sink clogged and made a flood in my wash room. And wouldn’t you know the one place where my veg area is set up is where all the water wanted to go and decided to wash out my seedling from its pot. So yeah it’s Been a good yet crappy week cause it tried to come back but decided to die four days after. Better luck with the next rqs that comes in a month or so
I didn’t do any defoliation this week because I had my vegging tent get flooded out by a drain and lost my shoguns I started. Gotta start them over in a few weeks when the seeds come from royal queens. But as far as these grandmommy purples go, I love this strain so far. They are eating every bit of the dry amendments I’ve gave them And reaching up . There is eight main branches with cola formation on each side and the middle nodes are starting to stretch up with them. I cannot wait to see what these buds turn out like, especially the colors. There’s 12 weeks to go and hopefully It’s sooner with her rate of growth. Only thing I’m worried about is she’ll keep reaching With her stretches And make budding start longer than I’m anticipating.
Here’s a good question.Would it be more efficient to take clones and monster crop Them from a harvest I’m currently working on From it’s mother?, or would it be better to just let them all grow on the original plant By lollipopping them and Scrog which would yield more you think
what up gnome , the only technique tha gets you more yield is lateral branching, so if you rip them out you have less lateral branching less weed. it's quite simple from this perspective. Everything you do is to promote lateral branching. hope this helps ! 🚀
Done some minor defoliation on her and increased water from a half a gallon to 1. I need to pull her top down about six inches to stay even so I dont have to cut it. I switched up her amendments to give more dr earth instead of black magic to increase bud sizes. Gonna be a great harvest I’m hoping she rapidly started flower a week sooner than I thought. I assumed it would of been another week before the flowers started to bud out
I done my final defoliation this week and plan on tucking whatever grows out till harvest. I cut all of the lower nodes and fans on each branch To prevent as much popcorn formation as possible. There are bud sites every 3 cm on every branch except the center ones Which are what I plan to clone and make mother’s out of if the strain is as strong as they say it is. I also might end up putting all the clones I cut in one gallon pots and flower out beside the 10 gallon to make more in numbers instead of size with final yield results. So far this is been a very easy plant to maintain and it absolutely loves all purpose dry amendments. If I was using an aeration system I would probably use liquid but from now on any type of grow in soil or Coco will be dry amendments.
The bud formation has been growing tremendously over the past week. The only thing I’m really concerned about is the coloring of some of the buds inverse tricomes. There’s about four or five different flowers that are already starting to get orange stone and they haven’t started to swell yet. I don’t know if it’s a depression thing I should be looking out for or if that’s just a genetic making some of the embers turn orange as they swell I’ll find out in a couple weeks I guess And I’ll keep my eye on it
The buds have really started to swell out pistols are eating every bit of that light as they reach out and duplicate. I have some gorgeous looking Buds and there were a few colors on a few of my buds and decided to just chop them off in case it was a deficiency problem. They are very healthy and growing very vigorously I cannot wait until they swell up and make big buds That are purple toned
I done my last defoliation for this grow so no stress comes till harvest. I might take a few big fans at the end for light penitentiary purposes. She has a delicious lemon and mint smell to her aroma and she’s half way there with tricomes covering her sugar leaves everywhere. There’s so many she looks wet by her buds and it sticks to ya already. Cannot wait until she is finished. I also started my blue dream and Girl Scout cookie seedlings.
I did my last defoliation this week and cannot wait till there finished. I cut all my popcorn sucker branches off and currently am trying to clone them for spring. So far I love the strain it grows in any direction you pointed. I’ve been the branches over and they start reaching up. I am just now halfway done flowering and they are completely covered with Frost and try combs, I could cut them now and they would be fine but there are pistols still popped out everywhere so I am going to let her grow her full potential
This week was a really good week as far as cola formation. Last week the pistols were reaching everywhere and I was hoping that they would swell up and those pistols would dissipate which they did. More pistols are starting to reach which makes good news for me because my colors are going to be even fatter than what they are now.This is the Second grow that I have done a main lining with no top. The main color is much higher than the rest of the canopy but the side branches that I did top are just where they need to be. It actually works when you and your plant straight 90° for future reference for anybody else who is interested in ever being curious to try it this way . I talk to my side branches to make one cola turn to two colas on eight side branches at its second node and have been rewarded for it. They still have another three maybe four weeks to go. The leaves are just now starting to turn their purple tones I have to say I have enjoyed growing this photo period from Herbies. They have a good strain seeds I’ve topped royal clean twice and she still alive and growing vividly
This week is one of the most exciting weeks cause you know the end has come and you get to start over fresh. This was a good run and I can’t wait to chop and weigh in the scales. These buds are huge and thick. I’ll give more on smells and taste effects when that time comes. I gotta hand it to herbie’s seeds. They sure did make a great genetic. I was going to push a few more weeks cause more pistols popped out the edges but seen foxtails start to bump out and I would hate to seed up this lovely thing. Update soon
I have to say that this strain is special. You have outdone yourselves with the grandmommy. She grew massive colas and smelled exquisite all the way from veg to harvest. Even hours after I done had it put in the jar to cure the smell still lingered on my fingers and in my house as if I smoked it. I had to put down a plate underneath to catch all the crystals falling because there were so many of them and I also had to clean my scissors every two branches from the glue it produces. The high is kind of subtle at first, it was like when we were younger and You realized You was stoned but happens almost minutes after. Listening to Music while it’s smoked is a must do because you hear every detail of each instrument and you can fine tune out parts you don’t wanna hear and still hear all the dynamics. The level of concentration is phenomenal. Also all yo need to smoke is two tokes, it doesn’t take much at all and a joint will last you for days. What makes this special is even though if gives you a unique high, it still knocks you out when Decide that it’s time for bed. I am a very light sleeper and I slept all night without waking up. For me that makes this a winner and two thumbs up.
The growth cycle for the Grandmommy purple is very fast you have to watch out. At first it kind of takes a slow start but once they start reaching and praying for light, They grow rapid at about one maybe 2 inches a day if you have the optimal location I recommend this plant for anybody this thing was awesome and a joy to maneuver. This plant handles high stress low stress like a champ and the branches bend very easily and she is very durable
@Cyrusdavirus, yeah they do. sadly she passed away to harvest complications the other day lol. I was gonna call the cops and make a report but they’d arrest me. And whewww. She’s starting to smell up the house from decomposition lol. Hahaha . I had to hide her bud parts in jars so nobody would find her lol.
@CRiSPrGrow, I always mainline without topping till it almost snaps the top and let all the lower nodes grow in the middle. It’s kind of like letting them grow laterall without having to lose the lower nodes. I’m taking the clones from those lower branches in a few more weeks. But thinking laterally imma veg them All in a single solo cup side by side with there mother and monster crop the clone straight into a giant bud. I experimented with a autoflower clone and it actually rooted and made a huge bud. Look at my gelato diary I put it in there for reference. If I make a couple dozen clones in small cups and straight bud them, that’ll be a lot of small yield to equal high weights if that makes sense.

@wenworg, the depression thing I was talking about was in the soil. I used as a reference to how much mycobacterium vaccae that was in my in my soil. It works on plants the same way antidepressants work to us. It was just a random thought that the myco vaccae in the super soil I made were destressing the plant and making it milk out the orange coloration to guard itself as a protection barrier. They are living organisms so it could be possible or I could just be crazy lol. Either way they turned out okay.
@wenworg, it took me a minute to get what u asked me. When my plant started to bud out of the preflower stage , my buds were popping out milky pistils that were dying some of the flowers an orange color like something was spilled on them. At first I though it was cal mag from a watering but It worked itself out eventually a few weeks after I tied my biggest fan leaves. I just went ahead and cut those flowers off me cloned them to be safe than sorry.
