So sadly this diary wont be very detailed and have an abundance of pictures as this was just a freebie that I didnt really show the proper love too. I mixed up some bloom and roots organic nutrients with some happy frog in a 3 gallon fabric pot, wanted to go a simple route with just watering when needed.
The NL has been pretty short but she was stacking nodes about every inch or so and I have the light pretty far away for the other gals in the room. I noticed she was having some issues with a few of her leaves but i didnt want to do anything about it until i could figure out the cause. Ive learned not to react so hastily because that can do more harm than good. I did tie a few branches down to get some light to the lower canopy in hopes to get more tops from her.
The pictures are about a week later, and the problem she had started manifesting itself more. From what i was reading from her, she was having nitrogen toxicity issues from mixing up too much nutrients for her so i decided to flush her. When i did, i used tap water right from the tub and didnt bother to ph or dechlorinate it as that would have taken too much time. With her being an auto i knew she wouldnt have much time to recover before she went into flowering and a n-tox issue is not what you want to have first thing in flower, it took about a full week or more before she used up all the water in the soil but she came back swinging. The pictures up top are all within 6 days, and the exponential growth that happened let me knew she was going into a preflower stretch so i amended her soil once again with happy frog fruit and flower and only used a quarter cup.
Well she definitely outgrew what i thought she would, and seeing how much she has been growing in the last six days is crazy! I started to do a little defoliating but nothing to major. In hindsight I should have done a lot more. But she's pretty much out of preflower now and has stopped stretching. I have only been watering when the pot feels light and found about a half gallon works for her.
I didnt take any pictures of her the last week so we are now in week 7, She showed her pistils in week 3 but with flushing her it delayed a good amount of flowering so we have been flowering for about 4 weeks, since she has been doing her own thing the other plants in the 4x4 were having issues so i was tending to them more and took a couple weeks before i was able to show the northern lights some love. Have been picking off the occasional leaf and readjusting some of her ties
This is 9 days later and went another week without taking a picture and it haunts me cause she is becoming a brute, and a detailed diary on her would have been nice. But I really dont have much to write about because she has been chugging along, and i only ever have to water when she feels light to the touch which is about every 2-3 days.
Havent done a smoke on her but will update with a smoke report, So odd thing with her is that after week 9 of flowering she went another 4 weeks but her trichomes never went amber so i decided to chop her down when cause the majority of her leaves were dead from the flushing period. not sure why there isnt a dry weight option but she yielded 57grams of some decent looking flower and an oz of larf
So about her trichs not going amber and ive read from a few people that with this particular strain it doesn't seem to happen, but I also don't know where this particular bean came from besides NASC
