Medicine is expensive and, luckily, I am now able to grow my own where I live. I started growing in this 2x4 Gorilla Lite tent and "piece-meal'ed" my setup together. I started with one Mars Hydro TS1000 and was fortunate enough to get a second one before I started flowering. I used a 6-inch AC Infinity fan for exhaust and a 4 inch AC Infinity intake fan. Using a Gorilla carbon filter and it works great.. I added an Exhale CO2 bag at this time not really realizing that it wouldn't do much good for a few weeks still... It's impossible to find oscillating clip on fans where I live so I had to make do with some non-oscillating fans. Grew in 100% Purple Cow Indicanja soil and did not give ANY nutrients during the vegetative stage (they did just fine). I probably under-watered versus over-watered for quite some time as folks at the friendly local grow store kept telling me that I'd inevitably overwater at some point as a first time grower so I waited a long time in between watering fairly often...
Added some red/blue plant lights that I had laying around in the garage as I heard that they could help with bud formation... They're so low wattage that I doubt it but figured it couldn't hurt..?
A little bit of nutrient burn from the Buddha Bloom but I've either heard that it's great to have a little nutrient burn on the tips as you're "pushing the plants as far as they will go" or that it's a terrible idea and to start scaling down nutrients at that point... It doesn't seem to be hurting the plants at all but, with my newness, I decided to scale back nutrients after I saw this nutrient burn...
Things really started to pick up this week... Flowers are filling out and I tried to introduce the trellis net but had NO CLUE really what to do with it other than to kind of support flower sites and move things in and out of the net... So, I'm not utilizing my space here well at all but... I'm learning!!! :) Blueberry smell really coming along here. It really does smell like fresh baked goods when I open the tent up.
Learning about trichomes more and more after getting a 60x microscope phone attachment from the local grow store. Colas are looking beautiful and frosty. Trichomes are starting to change color to light amber here and there but most are cloudy. Began feeding her again after a fellow medical grower stated that I should feed all the way until harvest... Getting mixed information about flushing, 48 hours of darkness, trichome looks for harvest, etc... So much information at this point as I get closer to harvest...
Looking at the trichomes, everyone around me is telling me to harvest now... Only 40 days in.. But a couple of days later I went ahead and harvested...
I had no clue what I was doing and still ended up with a little more than 2 ounces of great medicine out of this girl. Disappointed that I didn't get more but more disappointed with myself that I didn't do enough research on the training techniques that I was trying to use and my methodology. Learned a ton and have lots of information to use on my next run. Harvested at 42 days... Crazy...
