Dropped 5 seeds in a glass of water at 21:00 on 27 October for around 20 hours.
Two of them sank a few hours in, two more around 12 hours in and one floated till the very end.
The two seeds that sank first grew a taproot quicker than the rest, followed by the 2 that sank later on and the floater hasn't germinated yet.
I always doubted the saying that floating seeds aren't viable but seems I've proven my self wrong. We'll see tho, maybe the seed just needs a few more days in the paper towel.
Did the paper towel method in conjunction with a heating mat and heating mat thermostat. Maybe a bit overkill but didn't want to waste any seeds.
The heating mat thermostat kept the seeds at around 26°C. Happy with the results so far.
First 2 seeds went in on 30 October, second 2 went in on the 31st. The floater ended up not showing a taproot but ohwell, was only planning on doing 4 anyway.
Will be starting 4 Nirvana Hindu Kush seeds soon to grow outdoors.
Only keeping the part of the soil that the seed might need soon wet, hopefully that's alright but I don't feel right about saturating the whole medium immediately like some sources suggest doing.
Keeping them under a 18/6 (18:00-12:00) light cycle, probably for the rest of the grow. The light is currently hanging around 85cm (33.5 Inches) away from the pots since it's a 400W light and I don't wanna stress the seedlings.
RH is hovering between 50-60% which is a bit low for fresh seedlings so I covered them with budget humidity domes, and temps with the light running seem to average at around 26°C-28°C.
//////////////////////////////////////// - Notes- ////////////////////////////////////////
3/4 Seedlings are growing nicely, one of them seems a bit slower than the rest. Broke soil around the same time as the rest but hasn't shown any true leaves like the rest. Luckily I have more seeds if it doesn't keep up, hopefully it doesn't get to that point tho.

💧 [4 Nov. 2021][Day 4]: Gave them a little water.
//////////////////////////////////////// - Notes- ////////////////////////////////////////
Plants seem to be doing well.
[10 Nov. 2021] : Replaced #4 with a new seed, hopefully it catches up to the rest.
[13 Nov. 2021][Day 13]: Made some rearrangements in the tent. Moved the lights closer, hanging 61cm (24 inches) away from the plants now. Was hanging 85cm away before so hopefully the sudden increase doesn't stress them out too much.
[14 Nov. 2021][Day 14]: Moved the light up a bit, now hanging 70cm away (28 inches).
//////////////////////////////// - Watering / Feeding - ////////////////////////////////
Struggling to determine when to water but I guess that's only natural. I've heard time and time again that beginners tend to overwater so I'm being super cautious about it. Hopefully me being cautious doesn't end up with me underwatering, guess we'll see.
💧 [11 Nov. 2021][Day 11]: Watered them all with 1.5ml/l of GrowGuru Amino Mix (ph: 6.5)
///////////////////////////////////// - Problems - //////////////////////////////////////
- Humidity is starting to become a problem. Saw it go as low as 36%! Since I'm sucking in air from outside my RH is super dependent on outdoor conditions. Looking at getting a humidifier.
- Found some thrips developing on a plant I brought inside from outside [Totemics - Strawberry Sugar Cookies (Deluxe Sugar Cane x Strawpicanna)]. In hindsight it wasn't very smart to bring it in from outside without inspecting it thoroughly, but you live and you learn I guess.
☢️ [12 Nov. 2021][Day 12]: Sprayed all the plants inside with some Biogrow Neudosan (20ml/l) to get rid of the thrips.
//////////////////////////////////////// - Notes- ////////////////////////////////////////
[16 Nov. 2021]: Planted another new seed in #4 place, since the previous one I planted didn't root.
[17 Nov. 2021]: Seed sprouted!
[17 Nov. 2021]: Noticing some leaf curling on #3. Think it's from low RH + high temps.
[18 Nov. 2021]: Added some long overdue tags.
//////////////////////////////// - Watering / Feeding - ////////////////////////////////
💧 [15 Nov. 2021][Day 15]: Watered them with 1ml/l Amino Mix and 0.5ml/l Fish-Mix (ph 6.5).
💧 [20 Nov. 2021][Day 20]: Watered them with 0.3ml/l Amino Mix, 1ml/l Fish-Mix and 1ml/l CalMag.
///////////////////////////////////// - Problems - /////////////////////////////////////
[19 Nov. 2021]: Noticed the dosage on the Amino Mix is 3ml/10l not 3ml/l. Woops. Have been giving them way too much I'm just happy it didn't seem to bother them too much. Adjusting my dosages from here on out.
☢️ [20 Nov. 2021][Day 20]: Sprayed them with a 30ml/l solution of Biogrow Neudosan.
[21 Nov. 2021][Day 21]: Noticing a tiny bit of nutrient burn here and there by looking at leaf tips, not adding any nutes next watering.
//////////////////////////////////////// - Notes- ////////////////////////////////////////
[22 Nov. 2021][Day 22]: Starting to LST, hopefully I'll do it correctly. Seems like something that's hard to mess up. Hopefully I didn't jinx myself by saying that tho.
[23 Nov. 2021][Day 23]: The plants seem to be responding well to the LST.
[24 Nov. 2021][Day 24]: Seeing some signs of pre-flowering.
//////////////////////////////// - Watering / Feeding - ////////////////////////////////
💧 [26 Nov. 2021][Day 25]: Watered #1 and #2 with plain water (ph 6.5), and #3 with a solution of 0.5ml/l BioBizz Fish-Mix (also ph 6.5).
///////////////////////////////////// - Problems - /////////////////////////////////////
Seeing a bunch of nutrient burn, woops. #2 seems most sensitive.
🌡️ It's starting to become warmer because of summer and the tent is reaching up to 32°C (90°F) at times. It's not even peak summer yet, so I'll need to figure out how to bring the temps down asap. Tried adding extra fans but didn't seem to work. The light seems to raise the temperature around 5°C higher than the air coming in.
🌡️ Update: I haven't exactly done anything to solve the problem, but we're getting colder weather for like the next two weeks so I have some more time to procrastinate! :)
☢️ [27 Nov. 2021][Day 27]: Sprayed the plants with a 40ml/l solution of Biogrow Neudosan.
//////////////////////////////////////// - Notes- ////////////////////////////////////////
💐 Okay! So. It's finally flowering I guess? Not sure if you would still call this pre-flower but ey. We're here now. Think I definitely stunted the plants by feeding them too much. Gonna lay off of the nutrients for a while. Might feed some light bloom nutrients next week. We'll see.
//////////////////////////////// - Watering / Feeding - ////////////////////////////////
[30 Nov. 2021][Day 30]: Watered them with plain water (ph 6.2).
//////////////////////////////// - Watering / Feeding - ////////////////////////////////
[6 Dec. 2021][Day 36]: Watered them with 1ml/l of BioBizz Top-Max (ph. 6).
[11 Dec. 2021][Day 41]: Plantsitter gave them a little bit of water.
This was my first attempt at growing a plant. Went much worse than I expected, but I've learned from my mistakes and I'm sure that by fine tuning the environment in my tent a bit more I'll be able to grow much better bud.
Hey there…I hope you don’t mind me chiming in and offering some assistance.
I’m no expert growing indoors but have grown plenty outside.
So I’m learning myself.
The one thing that jumped out at me was the plants looked bone dry in every pic…or almost every pic.
Seedlings need very little water and they often get overwatered, but once those plants are somewhat established, say 2-3 weeks, you wanna soak your pot completely edge to edge and top to bottom.
Then if you have a good draining medium you should wait until they are totally dried out to water again.
Small plants in veg may take 4-5 days but once they start flowering and stretching they can drink a lot.
Feel the weight of your pot and once it’s light you can water/feed.
A decent rule is about 1/3 (or just a bit less) of your pot size….so a 3 gal pot would take 1 gal per watering……5 gal would take roughly 1.5 gal.
If your soil is amended, you shouldn’t have to feed it anything for at least 3 weeks.
Then tread lightly but without good watering habits the plants won’t do well.
Good job getting some good looking smoke from your maiden voyage.
Now let’s increase those plant sizes and yield by 10x at least.
Hello there! I had a lot of fun reading you diary. I'd like to ask,do you really test the ph with a ph tester? If you use those liquid ph test kits and then add the nutes the ph will reach an extremely low point, ph=4 for example, and then an Nitrogen deficiency will happen sooner or later.Check the following link if you wish or you can search it by your self. It might help.

Hope my advise come in handy and will help you grow😉
Check my diaries if you wish.
Peace MH
Forgot to mention that ONLY IF YOUR LADIES WHERE HEALTHY(!!!) you should cut those popcorn nugs on the lower part around week 4 or 5 maybe.It a waste of resources.
