The best tried and true method is by looking at the trichomes. The little frosty bits. Your want them to be all cloudy with 10-30% amber mixed in on the buds not the sugar leaves. The Pistils or the white hairs are not a good indicator of when to harvest as they can dry out for many reasons. Lack of humidity, fan pointed on them, they been aorund to long and new ones are made. The plant will always have pistils on them so if you want for them to dry you will go past your prime harvest window. Its also important to note if your plant stretches and lot and is super tall. the top most buds will be ready first and the bottoms will be ready in a week or so.
