Germination was 11 for 11 with these Irie Testers. Rasta Jeff didn't tell me what strain these were so I just put them under Arise because they could possibly be an Arise cross. I also popped a couple Arise #4 x JTR to either keep a female for a mother or extract pollen if it's a male. I popped 2 of the 3 seeds and one doesn't seem to want to pop a taproot as fast as the other 12 seeds I started and they all popped taproots. I will only be vegging these for a month and doing zero LST in order to see it's main traits.
All the seeds sprouted. I'll give you guys another update on how they look in a couple days!
I forgot to add the Arise #4 x JTR, only 1 of the 2 popped taproot and sprouted. The other was having an issue cracking so I helped it a little and just put it in a solo cup just in case.
Everything is still going strong with the testers here at Day 5 since sprout. 1-2 are a little smaller, 1-2 are a little bigger, and the rest are in between. Seems to be going really well for my first tester run for a genetic company. I did only get 1 of the 2 Arise #4 x JTR seeds to pop so I'm hoping it will be a female so I can mother her out, but if not I'll just get to experiment with collecting some pollen. I'll check back in with you guys in a few days and maybe by then I'll start adding some recharge (microbes) into the mix.
Start of Week 2 started strong. 11/11 are still doing amazing for the Irie Testers. #6 had a slight leaf droop to it, but other than that, they good. Started adding some recharge into the mix, had to add a few tags to help some stand up, but just letting them do their thing. Once they establish a better root foundation I'll get them transfered over to the 1 gallons and over to the bigger tent with a stronger blurple. This is just until I move them into the 12/12 room. I'd like to give them a week or so 18/6 under the flower leds, but we'll have to see how far along my current flowering plants are at. I'll check in again in a few days, much love!
Start of Week 3. Got them started on a bit of recharge and almost time to start them on some grow terp teas. Everything is still going strong. I'm having a few that need a little help standing up until they can establish a stronger root structure. Going to get them transfered over to 1 gallons this weekend to get them prepared to flip into flower.
Got the testers transferred to their final homes, the 1 gallons. I also moved the A4 x JTR to a 2 gallon pot, so once it's large enough to take clones I plan on doing so. The testers wil be flipped sometime next week. The grower these tester genetics come from prefers the plants to be flowered in a 1 gallon pot, around a month after sprout. So, that's been the plan since the beginning. I also put them under the Bestva 380watt blurple which is quite a bit stronger than the 80w blurple I started them under. Not sure if I'll have another update this week or not, but I'll try and do one before the flip! I also got them started on some grow terp tea, but it will be changing if I go to flower quickly.
Last update before the flip. I went ahead and left the Arise #4 x JTR off now since I'll be extracting clones from it once it's begin enough, but it's staying in veg. The testers are doing great!. Looks like quite a few different phenos but a few of them defintely have some similarities. I'll have to be keeping a close eye on them over the next week because I'll be extracting males, in turn giving them a little more room to breathe. I'd like to get them under the lights in the main room, but until I can pull some of the plants to harvest there isn't much room. I'll probably let them stretch and spend the first month under the blurple, then light em up in the main room the last month or so. Started them on some of the New Millenium Ruby, just in time to start focusing on the bloom regimen. Lastly, I am also adding a new addition to my line up this grow. It's Roots Organics Uprising Foundation, which I'm essentially using as a source of micro nutrients to help the plants over all health. I'll be using them up throughout the stretch.
The plants are officially on their 5th day since I flipped them to 12/12. I will slowly begin culling these as the males are revealed. Since these plants are testers for females, all I need to keep are the females. At this point it's really hard to tell which ones are female/male so far. I do have one (#8) that is a female, so that's a good start! I'll need to start getting them on the flowering side of the nutrients. It seems to look like 3-4 different main phenotypes, a few a mix of the main types which is why I tried to take pictures of each plant, but they didn't turn out as good as I would have liked. These things should start stretching here soon and I'll check in with you all here in a few days!
Start of Week 2 flower and I think I have successfully culled all the males. #2, #6, #9, and #11 were all males and I think I got them all removed. They are beginning to start stretching a bit and showing a few different phenotypes. I'm also getting them started on their bloom regimen and getting the grow regimen lowered down to nil. It's just a matter of giving them what they want and keeping them happy. I'll give you guys another update near the end of this week!

Day 17 update, middle of Week 3. Found a couple of different phenotypes. Since I'm not sure what the parents are I've found #1, #3, and #4 are taller, with smaller branches and tighter node spacing. The smell coming from them has a piney, earthy, and kushy smell sometimes having a sweet even minty undertones. #5 would be the complete opposite, more than likely representing the other parent. It was smaller in stature, but the branches were a bit bigger with a very nice node spacing and bud node number. The fan leaves also are always praying really hard where the other plants were droopier. It also has a very strong smell of what I imagine what burnt crayons would smell like. #7 was similar to #5, but it was a little taller and the node spacing/branching wasn't as nice as #5, but better than the first 3. Then #8 and #10 would be the best representation of a 50/50 split of these two parents (imo). They didn't stretch as near as much as I thought they would but it could be because they are in a smaller container than I normally use. I'll check back in again with you all next week. Hope everyone has a great Christmas, holiday, or whatever you celebrate and if you don't, just have a good rest of the year!

Start of Week 4 and these plants are doing great! One of them is starting to lighten up a bit in color so it may be time to start upping the dosage of feed. They seem to be through the stretch and honestly it seemed pretty minimal. I'm used to flowering larger plants so maybe I just didn't notice as much. Seem to have 3-4 different variations of phenos. Not a whole lot going on right now with them though, just got them on cruise control. Did finally stop the grow side of nutrients and am fully on the bloom regimen. I'll check back in the beginning of Week 5!

Middle of Week 5 Day 32 and the plants are through the stretch and into bud/trichome development. They are honestly doing great besides one struggling with some deficiencies. I'm pretty sure I got an Arise cross of some sort, because I have a few that smell alot like the Arise I grew earlier last year and the structure of some is almost identical. I've even heard he gave some Polecat 91 x Arise out in the testers so I believe that's what I may have. I think he also mentioned there is some JTR and Grateful Dawg crosses as well so time will tell.

These testers are beginning to trich up and are focusing on bulking up. I've quit giving them any grow nutrients and am focusing fully on bloom the next 2 weeks then it's time to start flush. Some are doing better than others, lots of variations, but they all seem to have a constant juicy fruit/body odor thing going on right now. Some are just heavier fruit where some are on the stinkier side. Letting the plants do most of the work this week and I'll check back in with ya next week.

Start of Week 7 and these testers seem to be pretty special. These photos were taken at Day 43 of flower and it's time to start lowering their nutes down to nil for a flush.
Start of Week 8 and I have one last gallon with a little bloom nutrients in it and after that it's all flush. I've had a blast having the opportunity to test these genetics for Rasta Jeff over at Irie Genetics. I had 7 females out of the 11 I germinated and popped. 100% germination rate and on average every 2/3 seeds is female, but that's tough to gauge honestly. On average they all seem to haver mix-matching smells of a sweet/fruity hints similar to juicy fruit gum and then chemy backends much like the cleaner type chem smell. One of them has a pretty gnarly stank to it, like a big ole pile a poo. Most are pretty lanky with main top growth and minimal lowers. Decent branching on average, but I think it could be better and same with the nodes on the lower branches. There were none. Besides a couple plants most all of them just had the main top per branch and that was it, which isn't good for yield. 2-3 of them had a some bud nodes on the lower branches, one in particular is great. #10 has slowly became my favorite due to it's dominant juicy fruit terp with a piney/chemy backend. The buds are dense and the most frost of the bunch and it has more bud nodes than any other of the plants. It also has a good amount of lower branches to help increase yield. #7 has had the most issues so far, but the smell is really starting to pick up finally. It's just that the bud structure is pretty spindly/larfy and I don't see it yielding much either. #5 is the odd man, it's the shortest plant and has larger fan leafs that really pray out to the light. It has more citrus notes to it unlike the other plants as well. It reminds me of some Arise I grew last year. I'll give you guys another update next week!
I just started harvesting these and it's gonna be a bit staggered. Bud is great, most have a nice fruity, chemy, pine smells in random varieties. Seemed to be a main top dominant strain and would require multiple topping/ stress training to get the best results. I'll have more feedback in a few weeks to a month, but seems like good solid bud for being testers. Still unsure on the cross, I wish he would tell us since most of us are finishing up.
Still harvesting these things so I'll try and have some more updates here soon!
Just chopped down #4 & #5, I went ahead and trimmed up #1 & #10 around after a 5 day dry, which is the faster I've ever done it but they were really small and it's dry as hell in my area right now. I also had to make room for the other plants because I'm kinda struggling in the space department right now, but it's mainly because I've been trying to utilize all my stuff to the max. #1 still has a bland smell to it somewhat chemy/piney, but as it cures I know it'll get a bit stronger. #10 I gave an extra day and it smells much better and has a gassy, juicy fruit gum profile I LOVE. I'll have one last update (maybe one more in a month or so, especially when I find out the cross) when I chop the last 3 plants in a few days.
