Just threw this seed into my DWC bucket a few days ago. It took about 3 days to germinate and pop out. I'm using a RapidRooter, and don't do anything special to get them started. I used to germinate under my bed on a heat pad, but was having too many failures. Since I started setting up my DWC and just throwing the seed in the RapidRooter, I have had 100% success rate. Seed appeared this morning and is in the process of opening (as of the photos). I'm excited to get this girl growing. Since my two plants in my 4'x4' tent were not topped (and I have new space open from a recent harvest), I plan on topping this plant early. It might add a week or two to my grow, but I seem to get much bigger yields when I top versus not. Also, I will be moving to the Advanced Nutrient Connoisseur line for this grow and going forward. Using ViparSpectra 300W LEDs, which use about 128W of energy.
Plant looks healthy. I upped it from 75 to 150ppm halfway through week 1. Will try to push it to 300 later this week. Added more hydroton to cover the RapidRooter. Top feeding 5 minutes every 2 hours. Roots appeared below netpot at day 8. My first grow with Connoisseur.
Had an issue this week. I think it was too much nutrients for the plant. I ended up watering it down and it is starting to heal a bit. I should not have picked this week to top, but I did top this plant at the beginning of the week. It was not the cause of the drooping, but likely contributed to it. I'm going to keep it low on PPM until I see a bit more recovery. New growth is starting to come back. Is this strain sensitive to nutrients? Seems so. Roots still look very health, regardless of droopiness.
It did not like 350ppm, and showed some clawing last week. I reduced PPM to ~150 and, stupidly, topped it then too. Plant has come back well. New growth looks good. I have sort of bent the large fan leaves under a lower node to allow more light penetration to those nodes. Plant handled topping well but likely slowed the growth cycle. I may have another go at topping in a week or so when it has started to stretch.
Plant is doing great! I topped it last week and it has recovered extremely well!! It looks to be in a pre-flower stretch, so I’ll likely be doing some more LST the next few days. Going to add a bit of bud ignitor, too, as it goes through it’s transition. Great root system in place.
Plant had a few issues this week due to pH. My meter busted and I just got a new one. pH swings definitely caused some leaf discoloration. Looking better now. The plant is also bit short, but I might use that to my advantage. New growth is looking good, buds are definitely starting to appear.
Plant is super healthy. Responded really well to topping and training. Buds are developing nicely, and I’m hoping to see some nice bud growth over the next couple of weeks.
Plant is looking really healthy now. Training has given me a level top. I will keep an eye and balance them as needed over the next week. Should see significant bud growth this week. I defoliated a bit and did a little more lollipopping. Might slow for a couple days during recovery, but should look good after that. I’m happy with this plant so far! Great response to topping and training. It is sensitive to pH swings, for sure.
Plant looks awesome! Really tight node spacing, which I’m happy about. Hoping that will translate into big, condensed buds! Training so far has gone really well. I don’t do anymore LST - it’s maintaining its shape decently. I do a little bit of defoliation here and there, but only to expose lower leaves. Otherwise, just keeping it pH’d and giving her nutrients.
This is looking awesome!!! Buds are starting to fill out. I’m hoping this will go another 2 weeks or so, and that I can get a great yield out of it. Trichomes are everywhere. Looking and smelling fantastic!!!
Plant looks great! Bulking up quite a bit. Covered in trichomes. They are clear still, but I expect them to cloud up over the next week or so. Going to flush in a day or two... probably will flush for 2-4 days depending on trichomes. Leaves are a bit discolored because of my lack of closely monitoring pH through the grow. Nevertheless, this girl is performing great! Smells very good, but hard to pinpoint or describe.
UPDATE Day 73: Flushing commenced.
This was a fun plant to grow! It germinated quickly and then went a little longer than I expected. This plant took well to training and topping, and some severe pH swings as I neglected the PH for a few days. The leaves showed deficiency symptoms, but the buds turned out massive and dense. Not a super strong smell, but a nice pleasant one. Hard to pin point. Smells earthy and a bit diesel-like. Plant was a great strain to grow!
Great plant! Handled pH fluctuations and yielded well. Not too strong of an odor at all. Tons of trichomes. Big, dense buds. Really liked this strain. It took topping and training really well. Would definitely recommend! Updated weight after drying. Will add smoke report and tastes/effects after a quick cure.
SMOKE REPORT: This strain is a fantastic strain to smoke. It is very potent -- it seems like the strongest stuff I've grown out of 8 strains or so I've tried. It's got a fruity, citrusy smell to it -- which I was surprised by. It smells very similar to Big Bang, if anyone knows how that smells. I would almost say that a grapefruit is the closest thing I could describe the odor as. Again, the smoke itself is very strong. To me, I smoke this if I just want to get super high. It is a long-lasting high, too. Perhaps not the best weed to smoke if you're trying to be super creative, but great if you want to relax. This is one of my favorites -- and I'll grow this again soon, for sure!
@therivernile, absolutely! 2oz is a decent yield, though I’ve found myself on a never-ending quest for more density! 🌳
This strain smells amazing and is super coated in trichomes. It seems like it’s going to be a great smoke, though I can’t be sure until it gets a slight cure at least. I’d definitely grow this one again. It handled itself well even despite major pH fluctuations.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy,
Think you'd grow it again?
2 oz would be plenty per autoflower in my mind, I've heard of people getting 3+ oz but to be honest I prefer quality over quantity.
@therivernile, Slippy? Slappy? Swanson? I was way off!
Ended up with 53 grams of some good smelling buds! I think if I would have been more attentive to the pH after weeks 6 I may have gotten a better yield. Still pretty happy with just under 2 oz!
