I'm really excited the test out my newly built space bucket and put it through its paces, after a lot of deliberation I decided that Dance World from Royal Queen Seeds will have the honor of being the first strain grown in the bucket. I intend to really push this strain to see what it can do in 10 weeks in my smaller growing space.

I decided this week to start adding nutrients at a very low dose at 1/8th of the recommended dose. I'm quite happy with how growth is progressing so far. There is a slight deformation in one of the first leaves but i'm not worried about it at this stage.

Its the end of week 3 and the forth node is just coming through, I think I might top her towards the end of next week. Roots are starting to show through the bottom of the air pot and there are no signs of any deficiencies. I haven't changed anything to the feeding schedule and iv only needed to water once this week. Really happy with the progress so far! I also decided to add a carbon filter to the space bucket to help with any smells in the future, its made from a plastic food Container filled with activated carbon, I still want to get another fan to help pull air through it.

This week I upped the Coco Grow nutrients to half strength, I was worried that it might be too big of a jump up but she seems to have taken it in her stride and is showing some nice growth. The next time you see her she'll be topped and re-potted into a 5L air pot.

- Started this week with a fresh re-pot into a 9 litre air pot and a topping. - She started showing signs from my accidental over feeding last week so diluted my nute mix by half and only gave her about a litre on the day of re-potting. - Worried the plant is looking a bit small compared to other grows at the 5 week mark. - Timelapse looks a bit different this week, iv been messing around with speeds and white balance. Hope you enjoy -next week I will start intense training.

- oops accidentally broke a new stem while training, I was a bit too aggressive to early ☹️ -Gave the medium a good flush on day 40 and topped off with about 500ml of nutrient solution - Didn't film a time lapse this week, it's been hard to get consistent shots when training every other day.

- Fed her 500ml only once again this week, she doesn't seem to be drinking much as the Coco is staying moist for most of the week. - I'm continuing to train the 3 main stems at least every two days, I'm going really slow coz I'm scared about breaking another stem. - I added a heat mat at the end of the week because I want to experiment with raising the ambient temperature around the plant and seeing if it speeds up growth

07-AUG-18 - Started this Week off by topping the three main branches and doing a minor defoliation removing the leaves on the first node of each branch. As well as mixing up a fresh batch of nutrients and feeding her 1liter of solution.

Hey guys, compared to other grows in the week 8 stage, my plant looks quit small and stunted. Does anyone think I could have done something better? maybe I was too aggressive with training or defoliating. I was hoping to be flipped to flower by now.

In order of priority. First temperature, for lights on 21°C (70°F) is low, you need to get it above 23°C (73°F), with the right temperatures the plant will explode with growth. For lights out 15°C (59°F) is too low, try to keep ir above 20°C (68°F); Second, pH. In coco ir is a must to meassure it and adjust it. You probably have many nutrient lockout due wrong pH. Third, EC/PPM. Again, in coco it is a must to meassure it, in order to feed the right anount of nutes. Fourth, humidity. Just like temperature, with the right RH, the plant will grow real quick, 30% is too low. Your exhaust is probably too strong, tone it down and your temperatures and humidity will go up.

- Really happy with her recovery this week from the topping and defoliation, she's starting to show some explosive growth. I think I might up the nutrients to full strength next week, does anyone think this might be a bit much of an increase? - Continued with some slight training, just making sure the main branches don't pop back up and that they are pulled down as much as possible to save on height. - Did some minor training of the new shoots towards the end of the week, just trying to pull them into the empty space and even out the canopy a bit. - She also seemed a bit more thirsty this week , up until now iv only been watering one litre once a week, this week I gave her a total of about 3 litres spread over two occasions.

- She grew crazy this week, the canopy has filled out very nicely. - Continued with training, just trying to pull the tops into the free space. - Did a large defoliation on day 66 removing all the lower fan leaves below the 2nd top. you cant even tell with how well she filled out. - There are currently 18 tops! I'm contemplating removing one or two and making clones just to free up some bud space. What do you guys think? I'm worried there wont be enough airflow late in the flowering stage. -Shes showing some slight nute burn on some of the tips, I don't think ill change anything tho because shes growing so quick and she will probably need it next week. - Think I might wait one more week to switch to flower, if she stretches too much I might be able to lower her in the space bucket a little bit more, otherwise i'm pretty much limited with the height of the LED.

- As you will see in the time laps , I had to make some repairs to the strip lighting in the space bucket this week. I'm really glad this happened now and not in the flowering stage and i think everything is as ready as it could be for the switch. - She continued to grow a lot this week, shes also getting a lot more thirsty. - Fed her 2 litres of nutrients twice and in between gave her some plain rainwater to combat the nute burn. - I decided that 18 tops was getting to cramped in the space bucket so I took 3 cuttings for clones. So then there were 15. - At the end of the week I gave her a good flush with plain water in preparation for switching to flower nutrients tomorrow. - Super excited to switch to flower! Cant wait to see what she can produce.

- She stretched so much this week, i'm worried shell get too tall for the bucket. - Drinking a lot more as well. - No signs of pre-flowers yet, if heard this could be a trait of this strain. - Cant take any photos because my phone camera broke, enjoy the sick time-lapse tho!

- Not much to report this week. Shes still stretching like crazy. - Lowered the pot down in the bucket a few Centimetres because she reached the top of the led strips already. Now shes reached them again, hopefully she doesn't stretch much more because i'm quickly running out of space. In the worst case scenario, ill have to move her outside. - Finally some pre-buds started forming towards the end of this week. - Its drinking a lot as well, giving her a good soaking of about 2 litres every 2-3 days.

- The stretch has slowed down a lot this week, big relief! - Not much else has changed. shes still drinking a lot and the buds are starting to take shape. - Thinking I might add another fan because night time humidity is reaching 70% sometimes and i really want to avoid bud rot.

- Defoliated the bottom half pf the plant at the start of the week removing all leaves and little stems so the plant can put more energy into the buds on the main stem. - Some of the outer leaves are getting burnt from the strip lighting. Nothing I can really do about this, next grow ill make sure the plant doesn't get so big. - Looked like the plant was getting some slight nute burn so I decided to back off from the Canna PK this week. I might bring it back in week 17 if shes looking hungry. - Installed a feeding tube to avoid spilling nutrients on the buds and reduce the amount I have to move the plant in and out of the bucket. - Tested my runoff Ph and its at about 6.5. Should I lower the Ph of my nute mix to compensate or is this normal? - Buds are coming along nicely, smell is very fresh and light.

Should I defoliate the canopy a bit? The canopy is super dense and I’m sure there are some bud sites that are missing out on light, I’m also concerned about airflow to the buds. Is there a risk in defoliating at this stage in the grow, should I just let her do her thing?

Hi @KA_LE! Well, there's always a risk of stress, especially if you tuck too many leaves at a time, but if you do it slightly and remove only 3-5 leaves by week, your plant should be fine. Your plant is extremely bushy and a defoliation will obviously reinforce the airflow and the light penetration. However take a moment to think twice before removing each leaf, and remember your plant won't generate new leaves at this stage. Go ahead, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

- Not much to report this week. Shes choofing along nicely. - Removed 4 leaves from the upper canopy to let light to some other bud sites. - The general smell of the plant is very green veg smell. only when you touch the buds can you smell and extremely sweet residue on your fingers, almost like cotton candy with a hint of citrus. - Reduced the ph of the nute mix as i'm consistently getting a runoff of between 6.5 and 7. - Also sorry about the lack of timelapse this week. My Gopro battery decided to puff up and not work :(

- Nothing much to report this week. buds are starting to fatten up nicely. - Added a spacer to the bucket because the light was starting to burn the tips of a couple buds. If I left it any longer it would have gotten really bad and i decided moving the plant outside was no longer an option because the days are starting to get a little too long. Didn't want to risk a Re-veg. - I brought the Canna Pk back this week at 1/4 strength and decided to start cutting back on the liquid silicone. Next week ill cut both out completely and stick to the basics.

What a grow! I just want to start by saying this first grow did not go how I originally thought it would. The first major thing was time, I thought this was going to be a 12 week grow max but I made some mistakes early on which stunted her in the veg stage quite a bit. This being that I defoliated way too early and way too often in the first 5 weeks of her life. I'm not going to defoliate any leaves while topping. It also took me a while to get the hang with PH'ing the water to the correct value, I didn't realise how important this was and often allowed it to fluctuate quite a bit during veg. I also let her get way too big for the bucket I was growing in, I probably should have switched to flower at least two weeks sooner but I was obsessed with seeing how many tops I could train into her. Turns out 15 is way to many tops for the size of my bucket and the quality of buds would have been much better if more light was able to penetrate the plant. Definitely something to take into account in the future when growing in this bucket. In the end, though I'm still really happy with the results and yield. I got just over 2 ounces which is double what I thought I would get and they are really nice airy buds but packed full of trichomes. I learnt so much in this first grow, I know next grow will be even more amazing as I will be able to take everything I learned and reapply it. Thanks to Grow Diaries for this amazing platform and the community for all the help and encouragement.
