Germination

As I start to dry and cure my first grow ever, I was already feeling grower withdrawals and so I have decided to try and germinate 5 random seeds that I have. 3 came from some weed I smoked in Mexico 1 from my neighbor Mozart and 1 from a random finding at home in the Bronx. I place two Mexican seeds inside a ziplock with a wet napkin and they sprouted within 72 hours. I place the 3rd Mexican seed in a cococoir pellet and starter pod and it also sprouted within 72 hours. The two other seeds that we’ll call Lil Mozart and Wildling, were put inside a shot glass of water. 72 hours later they had just sunk to the bottom but that’s about it. Upon seeing the others sprout, I moved the shot glass seeds to a napkin and ziplock. Will give them another few days to germinate, otherwise I’ll consider them a lost cause. This will be my second grow and this start up is quite spontaneous and unpredictable given that I do not know the strain of any if these seeds and I don’t know how they’ll turn out. In any case, I will give them some TLC and bring you all along for the journey!

I returned from my travels (4 weeks) and let my father relinquish them back into my care. There is a hefty height difference between the two plants. One is about 5 inches and the other one is almost 9 inches. But the taller one is NOT happy with the move.

As I settle back into a routine, I have decided to move the two mystery Mexicans into my 4x4x8 tent under my mars hydro light I used for my previous grow. I also added a fan for air circulation and humidifier since it’s winter and the air is very dry. The taller one seems to be on the mend and rebounding.

I have repotted the mystery Mexicans into a 5 gallon fabric pot with regular miracle grow soil. I used Myco Bliss Organic Mycorrhizal Fungi to help the plants take root and poured half gallon of ph’d water (6.5) with 5ml of fox farm grow big nuts, respectively. I’m getting back into the groove of things and look forward to sexing them in the next 2 weeks. Wondering if I need to sex before I start any training. Thoughts or ideas are welcome!!

Although I still haven’t been able to sex these plants, I decided to top both of them to help with the undergrowth but I think it may have stressed them out too much since I also just recently repotted them to the 5g. I also brought down the light intensity since it seemed like the tent was warm. The humidity has been spotty, either too dry or too humid, but has stabilized at around 50% in the last day or so. Any indications as to what’s going on?

The mystery Mexicans are flourishing since topping them two weeks ago. I’m starting to see little white sacs near the nodes but I feel it’s too early to determine sex. Not sure how much longer I will need to wait to confirm but I’m getting a lot of feminine energy from both plants.

The plants are doing very well. The taller Mexican turned out to be a boy but luckily it’s not a lost cause because the shorter one is a female and I’m naming her Frida. I continue to LST and will flip to flower next week.

Frida is growing big, and is joined by a diverse cohort of autos in the new vivo sun tent, which is 5x5x5 so I’m a little worried I may run out of headspace.

I have installed a net so I can tuck the colas and prevent them from getting too tall. I’m giving them molasses and some fox farm tiger bloom.
