Like the ILGM MW seeds, these nyc diesel and ethos crescendo seeds both popped out of the dirt about 48 hrs after introducing moisture. 24 hrs in the paper towel, then 24 hrs in the soil. I'm using cocoloco/mothers earth perlite/natures living soil (super soil recipe). Well see how this goes. I'm an outdoor/synthetic weed tree grower, this seems to be the exact opposite.
They are growing slower then the other plants in the tent. They're not suffering from light burn as much either though. The nyc diesel is a little bit.
These plants are lagging behind the maui plants, but the crescendo has perfect leaves, is short and stocky plus it was the only plant not burnt by the lights. They are both 1 leaf set behind and I wanna top them at the same time as MW, so I'm gonna let these get to 6 nodes and top all 4. I've been cutting the growing tips off everything below the 3rd node in prep for the mainline. I've seen a few fungus gnats, any suggestions would be appreciated.
I topped them both toward the beginning of the week. Both responded well. They are both short/stocky plants. After I mainline them, I'll
flip the lights and weave them into a screen. Im slowly increasing the nutes next week.
Both plants are growing shorter then I expected, especially the diesel. I'm putting them into a screen with maui waui plants that are much taller. I'm gonna late the 2nd/3rd/4th set of branches grow up instead of sideways like the mw plants. Hopefully this will help compensate for height differences. They're both sensitive to the lights. Crescendo more so I moved the to the outside of the tent. I used mosquito bits last week. Sprinkled some on the surface and then soaked some in water and sprayed the soil. This stuff works almost immediately. Everyone who grows indoor should have a bag. I'll repeat the process every 10 day or sooner if needed.
They are just now growing thru the screen. They're in a screen with 2 mowie wowi plants that are double in size already so hopefully they don't get run off the screen
Weaving them thru the screen. Unfortunately I found root aphids while trimming the leaves off. I set a leaf in the dirt and they hopped on. I thought it was cal deficiency but root aphids cause the same symptoms. My best guess is they came Ala cart in the coco Loco.
These don't like the screen as much as the maui does. Really tight node spacing, thick hard branches , and generally bushy structure aren't really good for the scrog. It's my first time. If I was to do it again, I'd just mainline them and be done. The just scrog with the maui alone.. These are definitely outdoor candidates though. I learn something everyday of every grow tbh. On a positive note. My girls friend asked me what I sprayed(laced) the crescendo rbx1 with. Lol. She said it's so potent it can't be just weed. So I hope this crescendo x headband cross is just as potent or better.
These plants have very strong lateral branches. Especially the crescendo. It also has 3 shoots coming out of the nodes now. I'd say the screen is about 70% full. No issues to report. I've snapped quite a few branches but it don't seem to phase them. 1 was hanging by the skin basically and just regrew a knuckle. These plants won't take as much space up but there's substantially more budsites. I'm giving 1.25 gallons if nutrient solution every 3 days. And the plants will be droopy and weak feeling. They perk up within 1 hr of feeding. That's how I know when to water.
I thought these wouldn't be as good in the scrog but they have tight node spacing, so there's a ton of growing tips. I'm having to cut leaves off the nyc all the time to keep the tips exposed.
Both are so dense with short interludes and 3 tips at every node on the crescendo it's getting crowded. It's gonna be interstate in flower next to the sativa dominant maui waui. They like the lights around 20" away. They get nutrient solution every 3 days. They start to look thirsty after 4 days. Lights get switched 2/20. I stopped taking leaves about 4 days ago. I'll defoliate around week 3 or 4 of flower.
They've formed the first tiny flowers. Been 1 week of 12/12. Neither is really stretching much yet. I'm gonna have to defoliate them sooner then 4 weeks into flower. They're bushy
They are starting to form bussites everywhere. Nyc smells sweet, crescendo smells pungent. I'm having to trim leaves everyday as they die. And culling any budsites that aren't getting light.
They're about 6-8" above the screen. Some shorter. I mightve flipped too soon. They're shorter then I expected. But they are full if trichomes already and the 2nd set if hairs are popping and calyxes starting to swell. I defoliated them pretty good. They needed it.
I can't wait to grow these both outdoors. They are tight node, dense, with thick hairs and tons of trichomes. I'm most excited about these even though I think it might be too dense. I keep the tent below/at 50 humidity so hopefully I'll be ok. Scrog is a ton of work. I been defoliating for 2 weeks every day a few hrs. I can't do it all in 1 shot. It's very hard on your back and I'm in shape.
Trimmed off more leaves and buds that weren't developing. Nyc has a sweet, flowery smell. Hb×Crescendo is spicy and earthy. Both are very dense but the hb is looks better imo. Scrog is kicking my ass, I doubt I'll do this again lol. It is constant.
The crescendo is turning purple. Found a nanner in it. Not sure if it's the reason I found seeds in a mw plant. It's far away and I didn't see any seeds in between. Idk well see how it smokes and how seedy everything is. It's a few weeks from done so I'm not culling them.
The nyc looks the frostiest. They're about 75% cloudy, still sticking up. No amber on the calyx, specks on leaves. The hb cross is thick and dense by far the heaviest in my tent. It's about 50% cloudy trikes. I feel like they're both about 2 weeks from done. Nyc has taken on a sweet but dank smell. Hb smells like a used eraser. The hb is turning more purple everyday. I stopped the recharge treatment. I'm really just using flower fuel at this point and cal mag
They're still popping white hairs every few days. Coming up on day 65. I'm guessing they'll be ready next Sunday. I'm just waiting on the calyx to swell and trichomes to get cloudy and bend over. They've taken on different smells now. Nyc has an earthy almost chocolate smell. It's weird. The hb tingles ur nostrils and makes me sneeze. I can't really describe the smell.
Both getting chopped today. The hb x crescendo cross is so dense and stinky. It's turned purple. Smells like earthy spices. It's very unstable tho. Found nanners early in the grow and pollen sac yesterday. No seeds yet. But I'm sure they're in there. The diesel smells like chocolate and sweet skunk. Not near as dense but it's beautiful. Probably the prettiest plant in the tent
The bud had a few seeds in it but everything else is wonderful. It's got such a strong taste and smell. It has hints of cocoa, and a sweet pungent darkness to it. Not the strongest bud, but it's great for work as it motivates me a little bit.
