TheCannaProphet ~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2202 ~
Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together!
The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel.
This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential!
One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... π€ͺ But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth.

~THE SETUP~
~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78β distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78β where they stayed until their tap roots emerged.
~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78β with a 7.0 ph.
~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots.
~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4.
~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation.
~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings.
~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's.

Weekly Updates:
12/1- I soaked both seeds for 3 hours in 78β distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Vivosun Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78β where they stayed until their tap roots emerged roughly 24 hours later.
12/3- Today their tap roots were about 1/2 to 3/4" so at 11 am I transferred them into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78β with a 7.0 ph using a tine off of a plastic fork as a 'mini trowel' to make a hole in the pellet and to gently cover the tap root, leaving only the seed head slightly exposed. This method accomplishes most of the initial work the seed has to do by eliminating having to orientate itself, push it's root down and head up. By 10pm the #1 seed had her cotyledon leaves opened and the #2 isn't far behind!
12/5- Well this is the full Day One for the #2 FBT #2202 and the second day for her sister! I'll keep them in the covered/heated Jiffy tray until I see their roots beginning to emerge from the peat pellet, then I'll transfer them gently into their respective fabric pots. The #1 will be going into the 4g Gronest pot from FastBuds and the #2 will reside in a 3g pot by Wraxly, which I'm trying out for the first time.
12/7- Yesterday I checked the #1 tester and she had roots starting to emerge from her pellet so I transferred her into her 4g Gronest pot. After making a hole in the medium for the peat pellet, I coated the entire surface with Xtreme Gardening Mycos then placed the pellet in the hole and planted her in. Lastly, I watered her in with about 4oz of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of FishShit added which was then ph'd to 6.4 @ 75β after which I placed a humidome over her for 24hrs to ensure that the humidity stays constant.
The #2 tester is doing great and I'm confident that she should be ready to transfer into her fabric pot in the next couple of days!

Weekly Updates:
12/8- Today both the #2202's got placed into fabric pots that I had previously filled with some amended coco/perlite. Before I placed their Jiffy pellets into their new pots, I coated the holes with a tbsp. of Xtreme Gardening's Mycos which I love using! After putting them in their pots and making them snug and comfy, I watered them with just 6oz of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added and then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72β. After I watered them I placed a clear Solo cup over them to help them acclimate to their new digs. I'll remove the cup as soon as I see they're not stressed and are remaining perky.
Both of the testers look great and right at home in their pots! I had already watered the pots a couple of days before they were transferred to them, so they still don't need a whole lot of moisture and as I'm keeping the VPD in the tent on point I'm only watering about every third day right now.
12/10- Yesterday I removed the clear Solo cup from the testers. They're both doing fantastic and looking really looking like they've got a Sativa dominance in their genetics as they're the tallest of all of the tester strains I'm cultivating. ππ
Today was basically just checking on them as at this stage they're not drinking much. I have the RH in the tent set to 75% and with the temp's running in the mid 70'sβ my VPD numbers are real close to being ideal, currently running at .88-.90 but I'd like them to be closer to a .68-.70 during this early vegetation period.
12/12- I watered both girls yesterday with 0.1g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added and then ph'd to 6.2 @ 72β.
Today all I did was check on the humidifier (which is set at 80% RH) and refilled it with distilled water. The girls are looking fantastic and are starting to take off!
12/14- I watered both of the testers this morning with the usual 0.1g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner added and then ph'd to 6.3 @ 74β.
Onward to next week where these girls should be sprouting some new sets of leaves and getting taller! ππ€π

Weekly Updates:
12/29- Here we go into Week One of Flower! It's been a month since these pretty ladies popped out of the ground and they're both looking perfect and have pistils popping out everywhere!
Their fabric pots were still heavy when lifted, and they looked happy, so I skipped watering today and will check them tomorrow morning after the lights come on.
Since being topped roughly a week ago, they have two new shoots that are emerging and looking extremely healthy with excellent vigor and have a beautiful healthy green color! The #1 is now at 11" tall and the #2 a bit shorter at 9".
The #1 still has a bit of a funky texture/coloration to her but otherwise is kickin ass so I'm not going to change anything and see how she does.
12/31- Today was a 'dry day and all I did was refill the humidifier and some canopy maintenance, tucking shade leaves and gently bending branches.
It's been a little over four weeks since they were planted in their amended medium and it's time to give their microbes a good feed so they can continue to provide them with all the macro and micro nutrients they need so, yesterday they got a good watering with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with GreenGro's Veg, Flower, Green Aminos, Natures Brix and Granular Myco added to it @ 1.5 tsp/g and then ph'd to 6.4 @ 73β.
01/02- Yesterday I watered them from the bottom with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water to which I added 3ml/g of Earth Juice OilyCann cal-mag to prevent any Cal-Mag issues before they arrive.
I also have the HLG 650R set 36" above canopy and it's set at 60% power which is being controlled by a Trolmaster HydroX controller. The tent environment is on point with temp's running 70 when the light's off and 74β with the light on. I'm keeping the RH at 55-60% right now but will drop it as flowering progresses. Finally, I've been keeping the VPD in the tent running 0.85 - 1.05 which I'm happy with!
01/04- They have both been doing really well getting watered every other day and yesterday they received 0.5g each of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner which was then ph'd to 6.3 @ 72β.
They're both big girls and with their wide node spacing they don't really require any defoliation right now, just some LST and watch them grow! The #2 tester is maintaining great color, vigor and is progressing into flower nicely! The #1 is similarly doing well with the exception of her weird coloration in her foliage that she's had all along.
Well, there goes another week in our journey and I'm looking forward to the coming weeks as flowering gets cranked up! ππ

Weekly Updates:
1/12- Here we go into the 3rd week of flower for these girls and they're both looking amazing, especially the #2 pheno which has a completely different appearance than the #1. The #1 pheno still has her funky looking leaves but she's flowering nicely and otherwise is doing pretty well!
I'm continuing with my regime of daily watering, leaf tucking, branch bending and pot turning. I'm also closely monitoring the environmental conditions as I noticed that my co2 ppm was low and found that the regulator was bad. No worries as I always keep two backups for any mechanical/electrical equipment as they seem to fail when you need them most!
I have the HLG 650R's hung 34" above canopy and set at 75% now through a Trolmaster light controller and have my A/C unit in the grow room set to 65β which is keeping tent temp's at 73-74β with the lights on. The A/C is on a timer which shuts it off with the lights keeping 'night' temp's at 68β. The RH in the tent is a constant 44-45% and I've got plenty of air circulation on them keeping leaf temperatures at 72-74β.
1/14- Today I continued with the daily regime of watering with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water that was ph'd to 6.6 @ 72β. Before I watered I top dressed their mediums with 1/2 cup of Down To Earth Bio-Fish each to give an additional boost of P & K since they're into flower.
Both of the 2202's are doing great, with the #2 looking a little healthier than her sister but it's been that way from Week One! The #2 phenotype is looking better than she did and is producing some decent flowers, while the #2 is just phenomenal with great structure and an abundance of flower sites all over her!
1/16- I gave them both a heavy water yesterday with almost 0.75g and today they were 'praying' hard so I skipped watering them today and will pick it up again tomorrow.
I did some adjusting to the LST, tightening up a few of the wires to keep the canopy even on both and removed a couple of lower shade leaves on both that were useless.
1/18- I watered both yesterday and today when I tilted them they were both light, so I watered them again but without runoff.
The 2202's flowering is going well and their health remains on point! There's three weeks of flower behind them now with another 5-7 weeks yet to go which is going to be getting more exciting as they progress through flower! π

Weekly Updates:
1/19- Here we go into Week Four of flower and these testers are ON FIRE!π₯π₯π₯
Both testers are in a flower frenzy and are ready to eat! Today I gave both girls their last top dressing with Down To Earth 4-8-4 Flower Mix at a ratio of 2tbsp/g and Coast of Maine's Stonington Blend 5-2-4 Organic Plant Food at a ratio of 1tbsp/g which I simplified by using 1/3 cup of the 4-8-4 and 1/4 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 4g pot and 3/8 cup of 4-8-4 and 1/8 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 3g pot. After working the amendments into the medium, I watered it in with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74β. It will take a week for the microbes to begin breaking it down and will last for 3-4 weeks after that which should coincide with them finishing up, or close to it, enabling them to naturally 'flush' themselves out.
The #1 tester that has had the weird coloring and leaf texture is a beast @ 26" tall and I'm happy that she's come around! In my experience, more times than not I've had plants with issues when they started and debated yanking them but let them stay and all, and I mean every one, have turned out to be epic. I guess it's just dumb luck, or the fact I hate to kill any plants if I don't have to! ππ The # 2 is doing exceptional as well and is beginning to get some purple coloration of the leaves in her flowers!
I've also increased the power to the HLG 650R's the the Trolmaster Hydro X Controller to 75% which has them pulling 990w at the wall and have them hung 32" above canopy. I also starting adding in 4 hours of UVA during the middle of the light cycle for the remainder of flower. I've been monitoring their leaf temperatures and they're running 71-73β which is perfect! I have the AutoPilot APC8200 co2 Controller set to 1100ppm with a 100ppm window and the AC Infinity Cloudline T6 controller set to maintain a 74β temperature in the tent while the lights are on.
1/21- I'm watering these thirsty girls daily with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74β and they're both thriving! The #2 pheno stays in a perpetual state of 'praying'.... a VERY happy girl she is and the #1 is showing signs of purple coloration in her flowers!
1/23- I watered/fed both testers today with 0.75g of de-chlorinated water each with GreenGro's Natures Brix, Granular Myco and Flower Finisher mixed in, after which I added 1 tsp/g of unsulfured molasses and then ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74β. They'll be getting straight water from here moving forward as the medium has enough food in it to support them until they finish.
1/25- Daily watering continued today with both girls receiving 0.75g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74β.
OMG they're both looking fantastic with both looking tall and proud with a beautiful purple coloration expressing in their flowers and even into the leaves of the #2! I'm really looking forward to Week Five of flower where these ladies should really start to strut their stuff! ππ

Weekly Updates:
1/26- Well here we go into the fifth week of flower and oh my these testers are on fire!
They're both stacking their flowers and they are just about equal in appearance and development, although the #1 tester did have issues earlier but has come back strong!.... a freaking Purple BEAST! This strain so reminds me of FastBuds Purple Punch that I've previously cultivated with similar structure, coloration and that smell....Sweet like candy with a aroma that reminds me of a grape Jolly Rancher hard candy! The #2 pheno doesn't have the weird leaf structure and coloration as the #1 and she has developed a beautiful purple hue in the leaves of her flowers which are really starting to increase their trichome production.
I skipped watering today but will be watering in the morning with the usual 0.75g of de-chlorinated water that is ph'd to 6.5-6.6 @ 72β
I'm turning their pots 1/4 turn daily just before the UVA kicks on (they're getting 4 hours of UVA daily in the middle of the light cycle) and continuing to tuck and/or remove shade leaves to keep the light penetration at it's highest.
I've got the HLG 650R's at 85% now and hung at 32" above the canopy. The tent temp's are at 73β with the lights on and drop to 68deg with the lights off. The AutoPilot APC8200 co2 Controller is set at 1200ppm's now and the tent is maintaining an average co2 level of 1100ppm's currently. Humidity levels are constant at 38-44% giving VPD's in the 1.40-1.60 range.ππ
We're about halfway to the finish line and the coming weeks should be getting very interesting indeed!
1/28- I watered both yesterday with 0.75g each of de-chlorinated water that was ph'd to 6.5-6.6 @ 72β, after which I gave their pots a turn and tucked in a few shade leaves on the #2 pheno that were blocking light from flowers on her.
These testers from FastBuds really remind me of their Purple Punch but with a twist! They have a fruity, sweet aroma but you also get a sour cheesy note mixed in... Blueberry Cheesecake??? We'll have to wait and see!
Both pheno's are expressing purple hues in their flowers. The #2 is showing the purple coloration extending into the shade leaves on her cola's, while the #1's leaves remain a pale green with some yellowing beginning to show in the lower foliage but otherwise appears healthy and is making some gorgeous flowers!
1/30- All I did today was water each with 0.5g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 72β and turned their pots. Both are looking exceptional!
2/1- Well there goes another week and our journey is quickly coming to a close with both ladies now 59 days from breaking ground. I'm checking their trichomes daily and anticipate that in the next couple of days they'll be going in the dark for 48 hours before being harvested and hung to begin the drying/curing process!
I watered both with 0.75g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 72β, turned pots and told them how beautiful they were!
Onward to the Ninth and final week for these two testers from FastBuds! So far, this has been a super fun grow with these two testers that were super easy to cultivate and the end result (as always from FastBuds) is some epic cultivars that check off all the boxes! Stay tuned for the finals for these two, it should be interesting to see their yields and flowers!
ππ Thank you for checking out my passion in life! Please visit as often as you wish and I hope you've enjoyed this journey as much as I! Grow Strong! πͺππ€
~BANANA PURPLE PUNCH by FASTBUDS~
Well, they've done it again... A hard hitting cultivar with a sweet fruity aroma, beautiful coloration expressed in purples, magenta and pink hues that checks off ALL the boxes!
I grew two plants and there was a definite difference in the phenotypes, with the #1 growing taller and having wide node spacing.
The #1 also had a really funky leaf structure that, at first, I thought might be a nutrient issue but was, I think, a 'genetic hiccup'.
Regardless of her appearance I let her finish and was glad I did as she produced the highest yield of the entire run of eleven 'Testers' she was in. Her buds were dense and super sticky, had a beautiful purple color and smelled like a cross between grapes and overripe banana's! π€ͺπ
The #2 tester grew a bit shorter, had tighter node spacing and was noticeably bushier than her sister. Her coloration had the same gorgeous purple, pink and magenta hues but they were more subdued. She also expressed more contrasting green in her flowers along with bright orange stigmas covering them.
Both plants were super easy to grow and did well being given water ph'd to 6.4-6.6 throughout their growth cycles and responded great to topping and defoliation (on the #2) so I'd recommend this strain for everyone from beginners to expert growers!
I waited for the flowers to cure for a few days before trying them out, but went ahead and pressed some that was in jars for two days which was at 64% RH that I like for extractions. The returns on this strain are impressive and the terpene profile carries through perfectly in the rosin.... TASTY! π
When I smoked some the first thing I noticed was the incredible fruity, sweet smell that hits you when you break up a flower... WOW! π That delicious fruity aroma carries over beautifully to the palate and on the exhale you can definitely taste a hint of over-ripe bananas coupled with grape with a fuel finish....complex and DELICIOUS!
Her effects hit you hard and fast that you feel almost instantaneously in your head that will make you forget what you were doing! The high then becomes more energetic with the effects spreading throughout your entire being! Keep smoking and this lady will plant you like a prize fighter leaving you in a hazy state of bliss!
I highly recommend this strain from the experts at FastBuds to everyone from beginners to experts and I only gave the rating I did due to the strange leaf growth on the #1 phenotype. I'll definitely be running this strain again and will revise my rating if my results improve for sure!
Way to go FastBuds!!! πππ

TheCannaProphet ~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2202 aka BANANA PURPLE PUNCH ~
