Plants didn't react the same way than with the SF4000. At the end, the results are better. Better light distribution, less heat, more space available for plants heigh, better yeld.
@@@Weedelfe, Well, I've not personally grown Panama x Malawi yet...I think it would be 1rightangle. I had the cross from their RD section Bubba Kush Katsu x Old Malawi Killer.
All Malawi were different but similar. All of them had in common a very intense effect on every hit (well, it comes to a point, if you roll a few grams joint....), with dizziness and visual effects. Not the common Sativa type high. I have grown many strains over years but the resin production on this strain is exceptional. Therpene profile vary from different phenotypes.
The one I Love the most😍 is the one crossed with Bubba Kush, from their RD section. But the strongest is the one grown with the Killer A5.
It is very stable in the way it won't hermie out and effects are consistent with some similar look, texture, background smell-taste. Awesome IBL breeding job from ACE preserving diversity and minimising hermaphrodite common survival traits from landraces.
What I've learned growing it? Don't be intimidated! stretch is about 3.5 but stop stretching before bulk. Medium feeding but might be Calcium hungry at bulk stage.
@Sorsdetacachette,Thank you Sorsdetacachette !
I'm very happy with the result. The downside is that I won't grow before a few months...What was the initial goal . :)
I have a look at your gorilla cookies daily and it looks like you won't be disappointed with the crop... ! 👌
Keep on the good work ! Cheers my friend.
Pero que cultivo Dios mío.
Mis felicitaciones a tan gran trabajo, esas variedades son solo para manos expertas y los resultados que estas opteniendo son envidiables
@Aero_Sativo, Hello and thank you for the compliment !...Although I'm far from being an expert 😂 ! Yes, the results should be good and imo the reasons are 1) excellent genetics, 2) Good environmental conditions ( very good soil, good light correctly used, RH and T° checked and adjusted daily if required, correct watering, pH adjustment 3) scrog technique !! 4) good nutrients 5) much care and love. Nothing really special if you are really interested in the subject, experiment a bit and learn from your experiences.
@PaulM,Thank you PaulM !
I visited your diary several times , very excited to see your scrog. I think that your plants didn't grow enough because the lamp is 10/15 cm too far from canopy.
Good grow to you 🙏 !
Don't get me wrong: I really Love your grow and your plants looks awesome. But I don't think we have the same conception of a SCROG. A proper SCROG job to me would be an even canopy, all square filled with a 6-8 inches branch. I am not a purist though. And your plants are awesome. I would probably love a SCROG job like yours, since you do have long donkey dicks colas, and not just a ton of golf ball size nugs. (reason I said I did not like to SCROG)
@sativaman, I had to search, ask questions on forums, read and watch videos to know what 'it's about.
The net is usually placed 20/25cm from soil (less and it becomes really hard to water and clean what's under the net) and more is less height remaining for plants to grow. It must be very tight.
As soon as a branch reaches the net, you will use the net mesh to twist the branch above below the net's stitches and repeat the process until you let plant(s) grow freely.
For sativas, you usually switch to flowering when 50/60% of the net is covered ( 70/80 % for indicas) and keep on twisting branches above below the net until 100 % of the net is covered. Then you let let your plant(s) grow freely.
For all this time, vertical growth will have been.. horizontal, apical dominance has been fully broken and the first weeks of stretch were used to finish to fill the net instead of letting plants gain height.
You usually clean what's under the net when first pistils appear and also buds sites above the net that won't obviously never grow enough.
As a result, you reduce plants size by 50%, improve light efficiency (the whole canopy takes light and there is much less distance to penetrate => ppfd acceptable for flowering at the net level), you totally broke apical dominance and so get lots of big colas instead of 1 or 2 huge ones.
NB: -My present scrog isn't quite optimal because I switched to flowering a little too early, afraid by the potential stretch and that I didn't to a good enough job with cleaning ( there are some micro buds +branches that shoud have been cut in its time).
- The net will be used only once: When it comes to the cut, branches are so intricated in the net's stitches that you have to cut it to free plants and be able to harvest properly
- Better to have a grow tent with 4 (at least 3) openings ( watering, cleaning, work on the net are much easier this way although they're still less easy than without scrog )
- Use the same genetics or several but with same flowering time and potential height.
-The torture inflicted to plants is supposed to increase a little potency.
@Sorsdetacachette,Thank you for the compliments and good wishes. These Ace seeds are great and react very well to scrog...that I don't like vey much ! 😂
Grow some and you'll even do better than me: Hydro is the way to go !
And your Fast buds Gorilla cookies looks awesome for now ! Many would like to grow such a nice plant 😎
You have a green thumb so nothing to worry too much about growing ! Cheers and later 😊
