I was only watering a small area around the seedlings so that I wouldn't drown them out but the rest of the soil in the pots became hydrophobic as a result. Water was repelling and rushing out the bottom almost immediately when I tried to expand the perimeter. I fixed this by adding the runoff back into the pots over and over again until they held onto every last drop. I also ran a slurry test which came out to 6.3 pH. Good, but I'm going to try and raise that slightly with the next few waterings since organic amendments tend to make my soil more acidic over time. Other than that everything is growing steadily. I plan on starting some LST near the end of week three.

All four plants had a rough start this week. I definitely over watered and it looks like they're getting too much Nitrogen. Blueberry Cheese taking the worst of it. Vanilla Frosting has been slightly mutated from the start with blemishes and weirdly shaped leaves but she's the most aggressive grower of the bunch. I'll have to LST hard during the stretch to keep her from towering over the rest.

Vanilla Frosting continues to be very aggressive. She's probably only a few days away from full bloom with the way she's growing. I will LST every 2-3 days during the stretch. I also did a little leaf tucking with Glue Gelato. Those large draping leaves were leaving everything else in the dark.

Lots of growth this week. Glue Gelato nearly tripled in size and OG Cheese is finally branching out. Blueberry Cheese is still looking pretty sad and is the only one not in flower yet. At this point I probably won't feed her anything for the rest of the grow and hope for the best. I top dressed the rest on their first day of flower (when I saw pistils growing from the top colas.) Vanilla Frosting won the battle with LST. I thought my bend last week was pretty good but just a few days later it was as if I never did anything 😆. If there was another opportunity to keep the bend going then I certainly missed it. I wouldn't dare bend that top cola now. She's got what looks like a mutated bud as well. It should be interesting to see how it grows. Day 34 Update: Something went very wrong in my tent. I decided to check on the plants about an hour before lights off and to my horror I saw a shiny lime green nanner popping out of Vanilla Frosting's top cola... This early in flower, that is BAD. I immediately pulled her out of the tent, turned the fans off, sprayed the cola with water, and carefully pulled the nanner out with tweezers. I then scanned each plant thoroughly and spotted a strange looking female preflower on Blueberry Cheese. I pinched it off and inside were two nanners trying to pop their way out... By this point it was close to lights off so I quickly wiped down the tent with a wet paper towel and quarantined them in another room for the night. I hooked them up with a spare light the next day and taped some foil to the wall. It will have to do for now.

Day 37 Update: It's been three days and so far no more nanners have shown up. None that I can see at least. Regardless, I've decided this is where they will stay for the rest of the grow. If I'm able to keep them around that is. I don't think them herming at the same time was a coincidence either. Blueberry Cheese was already stressed from too much nitrogen and Vanilla Frosting was unstable with mutations. Plus they were both located on the side of the tent where I leave the bottom vent open at night. Possible light leak. But I think the biggest culprit were my lights being too close too soon. I noticed only the top growth with Vanilla Frosting taking on a lighter shade of green which stopped when I moved her under the different light. Let's hope I cought the problem in time because I will take them out back if they think they're going to turn my winter grow into a nanner nightmare. At least Glue Gelato and OG Cheese are looking great! Strong genetics tanking through my mistakes it seems. I will be sure to go easy on the lights with them from here on out though.

Happy to report no more herming with Vanilla Frosting and Blueberry Cheese. I will update with pictures once their new tent arrives later this week. Glue Gelato and OG Cheese are both looking good. Having to water them once every two days now. I removed six hand sized fan leaves from GG on day 39. Trying to only remove what's necessary until the stretch is over.

I decided to put them back together again. It's been almost three weeks without a nanner in sight. If there was something I missed, it will probably lead to a stray seed here and there. Not a big deal. It could've been much worse.

Day 75 from sprout, Vanilla Frosting is ready for harvest. She was the first to flower and the first to finish. Sitting at about 5% amber. The buds are full and dense, reeking of gas and cream. I will update more once the drying is complete.
