2 x Royal Queen Seeds Easy Bud....Second Grow. Using Cfl Bulbs again until I can afford a LED light Trying different nutrients this time, from Royal Queen Seeds...they are: 1. Easy Boost Organic Nutrition https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/growing/334-vertafort-organic-nutrition-.html Easy Boost offers users a complete feeding solution for their cannabis. A single dose of Easy Boost provides enough food for 10-12 weeks, meaning you feed once and let Easy Boost do the rest! The Easy Boost 100g pack is an ideal dose for 2-3 plants, and will help maintain healthy growth and encourage generous yields. 1kg of Easy Boost is enough to feed roughly 20-25 plants. I have split the 100g between the two plants, I should not have to use any more nutrients for the entire grow, so we will see how it goes 2. Easy Combo Booster Pack https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/growing/357-vertafort-booster-tablets-mix-pack.html The Easy Combo Booster Pack is a set of boosters with specific formulas for the two phases of plants’ life. They provide all the elements that plants need to grow healthy and develop big buds. The Growth Booster is balanced for an optimal nutrient intake during the vegetative phase. The Bloom Booster enters the stage during flowering, maximizing buds’ dimensions and density. I have been spraying around the seedlings with this everyday for a week. There was only one tablet in pack for veg and two for flower, so I cut the one for veg into 4 pieces and used one piece for this week, as RQS recommend you do not use same mixture for longer than a week! So I will have plenty for each week until flower, even if it is only a quarter of the dose! I have a smaller tent now too, it is 120 x 60 x 150 I plan on only growing two plants at a time, as its for personal use only! I have used the canvas shopping bags you can get from Lidl and each one hold between 30-35 litres of soil, approx. 7 gallons. I have used them before and find them easier to work with than the air pots...ie.. no soil spillage when watering and flushing, and they only cost 1 euro each! So far everything is going great! 😀

Day 14 I have continued to use the Easy Combo Booster Pack from RQS this week and have slightly increased their daily watering. I have noticed that #1 has not grown as big as #2. I am thinking she might have stretched, but the lamp distance is the same. #1 is 6cm high and #2 is 13cm high. Other than that I have no problems so far 😀

Day 35 EB #1 measures 39 and EB #2 measures 63 They are both stretching after showing pre-flowers, though EB #2 is way out in front as can be seen in photo's. Yesterday I switched out my CFL lights with a borrowed 600 w LED light, hoping this will help with a bigger harvest, though, I have to turn off for 4 hours a night. So my light schedule has changed from 24 h to 20 h. Other than those changes everything is going well so far 😀

Day 42 Day 7 Flower And everything was going so well! 😒 I have strange looking brown spots on a lot of leaves on EB #2, but not on EB #1! I am also having problems with heat off this LED Light, so much so I am only running the flower lights, because having both on the temps were hitting 35c, and the leaves at the top were like spiders legs. EB #1 measures 58 cm and is behind on flowering. EB #2 measures 77cm and been flowering for 7 days. Also had to bend every tall branch, to keep away from light. I am starting to think I may have some sort of deficiency on EB #2, but it's strange how #1 does not! I have looked online and all I can find is that it may be a Calcium deficiency, but I have been using Cal Mag once per week Any ideas what it could be?

I have brown spots on some leaves lower down on plant. Have looked it up on internet and think it calcium deficiency. But I use Cal Mag. Could it be something else? I have picture up on diary.

Hi @MissSolasolita! I see you're having purple stems, bronze/brown spots, I guess it's affecting only the lower leaves? If so, that's certainly a Phosphorous deficiency. Try to increase P intakes in her next meals. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊

Day 49 EB #1 7 Days Flower EB #2 14 Days Flower This week my girls both looking very happy. I would like to thank @Stick and @ Michka for alerting me to the fact I had a Phosphorus deficiency. I have fed them twice this week with Bio Bizz Bloom, and they are looking a lot better. EB #1 Measures 79 cm and I bent her main cola this week. ( I like to bring the side branches into play ). EB #2 Measures 92 cm despite bending her twice and I counted 15 tops No other problems to report 😀

Day 56 EB #1 14 Days Flower EB #2 21 Days Flower #1 Is still stretching a little and is now 87cm . #2 Has stopped stretching now and is a whopping 100cm. She is the tallest plant I have ever had. I am continuing to add Bloom nutrients to both plants. I have the Led light on full power during day, but I have to leave the door open to control heat. I think the buds look bigger this time round and I am optimistic of a better yield from both plants. Apart from a few yellowing leaves at bottom of EB #2, I have no other problems 😀

Day 63 EB #1 21 Days Flower and measures 94 cm EB #2 28 Days Flower and measures 104 cm Only 7cm growth this week for EB #1 and a 4 cm growth for EB #2, so has slowed right down now. I have done a side by side comparison of my last EB grow at week 4 of flower using 250w Cfl's, and this EB grow using a 600w LED in 4 weeks of flower. You can see yourself the difference in bud size. I don't think I will be going back to CFL bulbs. I had a bit of nute burn from feeding twice per week, so have cut back to once per week. Other than that there are no other problems so far 😀

Day 70 EB #1 Day 28 Flower EB #2 Day 35 Flower Easy Bud #1 is looking quite healthy, with no sign of any deficiencies yet. I wish the same could be said for Easy Bud #2! EB #2 is showing deficiencies in everything. Her leaves are yellowing more and more every day and have those rust spots on leaves again, this time at the top. I'm hoping to begin flushing the end of next week so hope she holds out until then. The Sugar leaves are very green still, Any tips or suggestions very welcome 😀

Day 77 EB #1 35 Days Flower I decided to harvest EB #2 due to excessive light damage. The tips of her buds were bleached white and her leaves above canopy had turned brown. I have noticed same thing starting to happen to EB #1 so have switched back to just flower lights. I have also had to tie up her buds due to her being top heavy. I got approx. 300 g wet weight from EB#2, and will update next week what the dry weight is. No other problems so far 😀

Happy Harvest Day!

Had to harvest first plant 3 weeks early as she had bleached bud tips and upper leaves were destroyed. I was using a 600w LED Light for flowering stage but I had let her grow too big in veg. The damage did not show for about 2 or 3 weeks. I let the other plant go the 3 weeks despite having same problem, just not as bad. Very happy with outcome on this grow

Had difficulties in flowering stage with light damage but I was not expecting to borrow a LED Light, and allowed her to grow too big to keep a safe distance away from light. I have learned that it takes weeks for light damage to show, will know next time. The Easy Combo Boost nutrients I used worked great during the veg stage, but because my plants grew big they failed me during flower. I had to use my Bio Bizz Bloom to get me through. All in all I am very happy with my harvest, and would still grow Easy Bud again 😀

I followed your 1st easy bud grow, looks nice, I was just thinking that this time around you could probably add some silica to help with stem size/nute uptake and hence bud size but it will be interesting to see how the rqs easy boost works since I've been wanting to try that

@The_Plant_guy, Thank you, I will look into that. Maybe I will try it on my next grow, as I have Gorilla glue auto and White widow auto seeds on the way. If I try it now I feel I won't really know if these nutrients are any good if you know what I mean 😀

@Stick, Thank you....I will try adding a bit of my BioBizz Bloom for a week and see if that helps. So long as it is not an insect or fungal disease. Maybe she is requiring extra nutrients because she is way bigger than the other plant....Thanks again 😀

Señorita Solasita, Apparent deficiencies when you are certain you have added enough nutrient usually mean pH lockout. I remain baffled with certain plants, and don’t let it make me crazy. Just like with people and all living creatures, some just grow up sickly and prone to ill health. But we guiltlessly dispose of the weak and sick plants, and cater to the robust and healthy ones. Best wishes for a strong harvest!
