GRANDPA’S STASH #5 x GRANDPA’S STASH #12 Lineage: Super Skunk, Afghan Kush, OG Kush • Quantity: 1 AlphaFem™️ Seeds • Flowering Time: 50-60 Days / Outdoor Early September • Yield: Yuge! • Cannabinoids: 20-25% • CBD: 1-4% • CBG: 1% • Terpenes: Earthy sandalwood hash, spicy, skunk and sweet. Heavy structure supports very dense flowers • Morphology: Easy to grow in any situation, indoor or outdoor. A stocky frame that stacks huge flowers all the way down the plant. Quick onset and a fast ripener along with being mold and mildew resistant, she’s perfect for short or wet seasons outdoors. Just prepared Earthbox for use. Will be a no till reuse of box from last grow that was amended by placing a gallon of vermicompost as a top dressing. Provided some water to the earthbox to start the magic and covered the top to allow the photosensitive helpful insects an opportunity to hatch prior to placing the germinated seed into the earthbox. Planted seed after germination and planted into substrate of earthbox soil. Awaiting for seed to break soil. I will then place mulch cover on earthbox and start with 18/6 hours light.

1/17/2022 - Germinated seed was taken from a moistened paper towel sprinkled with great white and freeze dried aloe and transplanted to a Earthbox which has been seasoning since it's last use for Kosher Kush. I added water and top dressed the soil with Colorado Worm Works vermicompost to get the beneficial microorganisms and insects to inoculate to living soil. I placed seed in an area I cleared from the vermicompost so any PH change or seedling eating insects would have less of a chance. I do not appear to have a stretching issue associated with seedlings and no issues with hardening off as the environment is quite cool in the basement. The seedling erupted the soil on day three after planting. Since it has grown the first two leaves and appears healthy. This will be an organic no till grow. This orphan will be fed aged tap water as it is too cold for my rain barrel which is my preference. 1/24/2022 - Can't believe the seedling after one week. This strain resembles lettuce more than cannabis. The initial two leaves are over 3 1/2" wide! Did not water earthbox as the plant hasn't really drank that much to date. Popped another seed and planted into traditional 4" nursery cup. Both seedlings are not stretching and appear to be putting out massive leaves. Never had a seedling that was as vigorous or had the size of leaves starting off. Looking forward to this grow!

What a beast of a seedling. The seed was small, compact, almost round, with a dark green matte finish and the result after germination is nothing less than spectacular. I thought perhaps I was growing lettuce, but no, this is Grandpa's Stash. I can hardly wait. The leaves have covered up the gaping hole in the mulch cover of the earthbox which I have not had to refill as of yet. I am extremely happy about the Colorado Worm Works Vermicompost I used to innoculate the earthbox prior to placing the germinated seed. Starting to develop the 4th set of leaves, however the plant is growing sideways as the width of the plant is an easy 6 inches across but only 1 1/2 inches tall. Amazing grow and I really still consider this a seedling. I will probably flip in week 5-6 of veg if this monumental growth continues.😬

Great week! A uneventful week, and in the case of this seedling, vigorous growth has continued this week. The plant shot up five inches and developed 3 sets of leaves in the week. The leaf size is huge and stretches out 12 inches from the plants main stalk. If I didn't know the origin of the seeds, I would think that I sold a cow and received some magical beans that will soon stretch to the sky. I will have a flowering tent to place the earthbox in this week as I harvested the last kosher kush plant that was left behind. I usually let them get used to the environment for a couple weeks before flower. I plan to top this week and change the light schedule to 12 hours for flower by week 6. Wish me luck!

A week with progress. I was able to move the earthbox into the flower tent where I control the environment better than a basement in winter. The plant certainly agreed as I am focused on VPD and ensuring the short veg time left will be put to good use. I topped the plant a few days ago and the replacement top can be seen popping out in the middle. I did not know how long to wait after topping to switch to flower but believe at the current rate of growth it will be just fine. Have not performed any training other than the topping. This plant is short and WIDE. She measures 14" across but only 8-10" tall. I can only imagine what will happen in flower and hope the stretch is normal as I have only 50" in the tent to use as the fan and the light will constrain the height of the canopy. The leaves are huge, currently bigger than my hand... very impressed with this strain thus far... This weeks activities required are: - Defoliation - Training - Top Dress - Beauveria Bassiana innoculation

Great week where I was able to accomplish several tasks required prior to flipping to flower. As the plant resembled a hosta, I needed to defoliate, and top. I also was able to provide a "pre-flower" top dressing that consisted of Build a Soil Craft Blend, freshly milled sprouted Gnarley Barley, Build a Flower top dressing, earth worm castings from Michigan Worm Works, and an innoculation of Beauveria Bassiana. It's a first to try this to further prevent pests from the soil disturbing the plant. When the microscopic spores of the fungus come into contact with the body of an insect host, they germinate, penetrate the cuticle, and grow inside, killing the insect within a matter of days. Afterwards, a white mold emerges from the cadaver and produces new spores. A typical isolate of B. bassiana can attack a broad range of insects. Added additional information with the pictures. Will start training this week and throw into flower, next week.

Great week! After accomplishing many pre-flower activities last week, I was able to focus on defoliation and training the plant. This pheno is a vigorous grower, quite content to be stout. I can almost see the plant growing with the correct environment. I have been keeping the tent to a VPD of .9 - 1.5 with the aid of a humidifier. Still winter here in Michigan! I also provided a feeding this week that consisted of Organic Growers Insect Frass, Eden Pure Gold Fusion Flower, and Build a Soil Build a Bloom, dissolving the nutrients into my spray applicator and using the compounds as a soil drench for the earthbox. I also noted that the girl finished her water in the 3 gallon reservoir of the earthbox. I re-filled the reservoir with clean fresh water after waiting a day, so the soil could dry out a little before refilling the reservoir. Now for the bad news... I have a plant occupying the other tent that was supposed to be ready a couple weeks ago. It is still not ready, so I will not be able to switch to flower until I have room for the Wedding Cake seedling started a couple weeks ago. So I will keep an eye on the height of the plant as I believe this girl will stretch. One thing I did notice is after training and defoliating a couple times, the leaves resemble a Sativa more than the dominant Indica. Hopefully the flowering plant will be harvested soon, allowing me to place this into flower!

Week with terrific vertical growth. Defoliated twice this week which also helped her to achieve 8" growth. Also zeroed in the environment to represent the VPD for flowering that stabilized from .9 - 1.2 throughout the day. Awaiting harvest drying in the adjacent tent to finish before changing to flower. Have another week before I can accomplish this as the drying tent is 68 degrees F and 60% RH. I think it will take at least 7-10 days to finish and I am on day 4. Fed the girl a little hydrosolated fish to keep her totally happy and look forward at more vigorous growth.

Placed into flower on 3/10. Accomplished pre-flower top dress consisting of BAS Gnarly Barley, Craft Blend and BAS Build a Flower Top Dressing. Allowed earth box to dry out a few days and then refilled reservoir on 3/13. Plant is going to stretch a lot I bet. Will scrog next week. This one plant is filling the entire 3 x 3 tent.

Great week. Another 6" of growth. Placed scrog to prepare for training this beast. Flipped a couple branches under the netting today as they had grown 6" over the netting. This one plant is taking up the entire 3 x 3. Will probably need to lift light to provide additional canopy height.

Great week. Defoliated a great deal and removed all the smalls not making it to 50% of canopy at mid stretch which may have been overdue. Water only week as I provided ample nutrients last week. Flower development looking great. Love the plant structure. Still stretching and I will have to move my light up. PAR is around 850.

Great week! Flowers are growing bigger everyday and with the buds developing, the girl is a little thirsty needing replacement of the 3 gallon reservoir twice this week. Buds are looking beautiful. Nice stacking as I tried to get a picture of how nicely the buds are lining up. This plant is providing many colas as it is the only plant in the 3x3 tent. PAR is 875 and I'm keeping an eye on any light burn, but this phenome is doing great. Trichrome development starting and is noticeable to naked eye. I hope this smokes as easy as it was to grow. I'll throw some fermented insect frass and blue gold fusion flower at the girl next week.

Great bud building week! Girl is going into overdrive with bud development. Great structure as well and buds are beefing up and stacking. Smell is a little stronger and trichrome development can be seen with the naked eye... through some pictures of the same buds taken last week for comparison. Great grow, all organic.

Great week. I lightly top dressed with Build a Soil Build a Flower Top Dressing. Leaf tips show a little burning after application, signaling to me that this will be the last feed. Buds getting chunkier and frost developing. Starting to smell and buds are more greasy rather than sticky. Adding horticulture coconut to my sip reservoir when adding water to reservoir. Watered three times this week to keep the girls happy.

Another boring week...this plant is very forgiving and easy in an indoor environment. Plant canopy fills the tent and the buds are looking great. 2 waterings this week with another planned tomorrow if they keep up their thirst at this pace. Trichomes are large and densely populate the buds. Smell is starting to increase and I have kicked the fan up a notch to maintain negative tent pressure. Only feeding water at this point with no horticulture coconut. Now have a supply of rainwater for all my plants as the weather has improved. Ethos states that the flowering is from 50-60 days to harvest... we will see as we are into day 42... I also turned light down to help signal the plant that harvest is near and the plant leaves are already starting to change color and texture due to the onset of senescence.

Good week... plant is starting to fade and I am looking at trichomes for maturity. Still mostly clear... will continue to monitor as we are day 56. Calyxes and pistils have discolored from their pristine white to an earthy brown. Buds look beautiful and I water three times a week @ 2.5 gallons of rain water as the girls continue producing sugars. Looking great and seeing plant senescence on leaves occurring as the plant matures.

Great week... watered girls when they needed. Leaves are showing the plant fade and I expect the flowers to fully mature within the week. Bought an Ethos Grandpa's Stash multipack to check out some of the hybrids... plan to grow them as soon as I finish a Grandpa's Stash in a container as a backup. In addition, I turned around the Wedding Cake and that plant is in veg. Will place them both in flower and will start a new plant... Thinking of Ethos Original CrescendO x Grandpa's Stash #12... providing ample rain water when required as she still has a thirst although it appears to be slowing. I also dimmed the lights to let her know it is OK to finish...

Very easy robust strain to grow. No issues in grow. Plant filled 3x3 tent and had great structure and the ability to support the beefy buds. However, the buds are very airy and spongy after drying. Good frost and tastes like molasses, orange with slight fuel. Very Kush like affects on the body allowing me to sleep without pain.

Harvested on week 17 as trichomes were white with some amber. Currently drying/curing in tent kept at 68 degrees F and around 60% RH. Hopefully, it will take 10 days to dry. I will trim and update on weight and taste. Very skunk with orange and some fuel.

@Drgreenthumb627, Thanks buddy! I appreciate the info. I am a little disappointed. I like tight thick dense buds that break apart at the bracts, and stay put in a pipe! Thanks again!

Drgreenthumb627commented3 years ago
@MarcGrows, i also was disappointed with the amount if airy buds i had, other than the top colas of each plant most of the buds below were quite airy. i only ended up keeping about half of the total buds. i think in order to make this strain yield quality flower i will have to defoliate everything below canopy as it doesn’t seem to grow quality below that.
