Week 6 D36; 2 more weeks of 18/6 and then I'll be switching to 12/12. Over the next few days I'm going to look into an organic bloom booster. They defo need something. If you have used a good 1 please leave a comment with your suggestion and I'll drop by your diary and look at the results, please only suggest stuff that you've used and can show me results. 30/1/22 So I've updated the PH/PPM results based on the over watering of the CBD they more or less got the same feeds only difference is the CBD got overfed with 6.3 PH 78PPM distilled water. 2/1/22 D38 Done some heavy defoliation today just mainly took little leafs and the few fan leafs overlapping on bud sites, just cleaned her up a little, I know she looks a little naked but I assure you everything I've done can't hurt the growth at this stage, (but be sure to leave the little leafs and other leafs on the new stems/colas as they promote energy, it's all about the flowering now baby and getting them bud sites to pop. If anyone thinks different please leave a comment. I'm going by what I've read and I know one thing you read online contradicts the other, so it really all is trail by error. Really excited to get into DWC I've been seen the results and they are sooo much better than soil/coco+manual feesings. GROW RESULTS FOR THIS WEEK Done some heavy defoliation, resulting in lots of new growth and the plant has really filled out, she has started to flower slightly so, now is going to be the last week of veg as I'm going by what the plant is telling me. Your girls will always tell you when they are happy or not, some signs will be easier than others. Here are some things that are very basic but are the core of any healthy grow and what to look out for and test. 1. Test you soil PH/PPM. You can do this by taking 2 soil samples. One from the top and one a few inches down. By this you'll be able to tell your saturation levels and are your nutes/ if you are using any, in this case I'm using a supersoil formula. This step is crucial to any method of growing. Get yourself a decent PH pen. It really is a must. If you have everything else but not a way to test your EC/PPM/PH you really are asking for trouble and you'll find it impossible to fix mistakes. DrMeter is a cheap reliable PPM/PH pen 2. Nute burn, this will show up on the edges mainly on new growth or on the very tips of leafs, that's early stage, 3. Tip burn could also mean your light is to high in power or to close to the canopy of your plants, 30cm is the ideal height for all stages of growth. 4 Nitrogen build up will lead to your plant getting brown spots but the main source will be leaf degradation. 5. Making sure you get the most from your space, this means doing some early LST, TOPPING or whatever you need to do, to stop from getting long stretchy plants keeping your light at the right height as lights too far away your plants will start to reach. 6. Overwatering. It's good to have holes in the end of your cup or pot to at least have some drainage. 7. If you are planting straight into substrate be sure to know which end you are putting down, but it is best to know if you seeds are viable or not, and doing this is very easy all steps I used are in my germination week. 8. Use some sort of micro enzyme to help break down your nutrients/fertilisers and help nutrient uptake, aswell as using some sort of grow nute. If you don't have them or the money at the very least you will have to have some sort of calcium. And even then you won't have a great grow. So, if it's a thing about money just get some high grade top soil/humus and that should get you through your grow, well it will for an auto at the very least. 9. Make sure to give your plants at least 1/2 week flush with just water unless you have some finisher. PROGRESS AND REPORT ON LAST&PRIOR WEEKS WORK. So, I got what I was hoping from topping her 2 weeks ago and by doing defoliation (Lots of new growth on the stems promoting tons of bud sites). So, I know ppl say your leafs are energy, and yes, I agree. So, I'm going to try and push her right to the edge and take all them pretty leafs and growth in this week's last pic and hope she bounces back. My goal in all this is not for new bud sites, like it has been in all my other defoliations, this is purely to concentrate growth on those hard earned underdeveloped bud sites, I know they are only new but so many are sooo far behind so in a way I'm hoping to slow down the tops growth to let the lower bud sites catch up, (if that makes sense), hopefully I'll have a good report for next week's summary, and won't look like an idiot that ruined his plant.
