First week of flowering. D43. I am still going off the PPM reading from the overwatering of the CBD organic.Turned light up to 100%. Air intake also turned up to 100% 24/7. Switching to a 15/9. Lots and lots of bud sites have started to show, as I have stride for these past few weeks, doing defoliation in the right areas has worked out for me so far. D44 decided to do her last defoliation, now remember never take too much, (in saying that, this is the most I've taken), and there's a good reason why ive taken what I have and more importantly, from where. So, now the whole idea these past few weeks was to create more bud sites and start the top site maturing what they had, the plant had very few were there should have been growth and the ones that had, were too unmatured, by doing the defoliation on the lowest parts it premotes growth on the node above. But now, the new sites I helped premote are way too far behind the top canopy now. So I'm going to do something drastic, and it's only the start of flowering, so there still will be enough growth left to catch up, but the whole point is to let the lower bud sites to even catch up slightly while slowing down the top bud sites, idk if this will work but we shall know by the end of the week. (DEFOLIATION) Never strip too much of 1 stem. Your leafs are energy (tucking these leafs if you do not want to defoliate is a good way to get light to critical bud sites. By learning how to defoliate you can train certain parts to grow quicker than others. Clearly it works, well everything I have done so far has gotten me the results desired. By taking fan leafs off and so on from say the last node will promote growth on the next node level and continue up, so by taking the fan leaf right underneath the cola attached to the main stem will help growth on its node right above said fan leaf. 8/2/22 Yes, I know she looks a little naked. She'll stress for a couple days and then bounce right back I took a lot of the growth from above, hoping by taking so much and because it's not too late in the flowering stage she should catch right back up and within a week or 2 I should know if all this defoliation will give the results I aimed for, fingers crossed. 9/2/22 She's looking a little poorly, this is very much to be expected. Thinking back I dunno if 8 should have defoliated over a 24hr period. I've given her an organic nute biocanna, the one I have listed. I only use it after doing defoliation and so on, it's purely for sickly plants, well that's the purpose I use it for, if advise you get a nute that you have if you plants turn sickly, there are many good ones on the market. The one I'm using is fairly expensive 25$+ for 250ml. And it requires a lot when giving it to plants. And also you 100 need ph down as my PH went to 11.5 for a 8ml/l. Hoping this will help her recover quicker. I will repeat after a few days. As she just got 500ml of water before the lights went out and another 500ml of solution. She hasn't flooded. Will update on progress on what I do through the week and report on results will follow at the end of every grow week. If you have any questions about my results or the methods I used to get there or just wanna talk turkey pm me. 10/2/22 I've checked the growth and can see a whole host of tiny shoots at to popping up and the tiny ones I wanted matured, well they have grown by around 15-20% and not much change to the top. Desired results. Thing is, now I have lots of new shoots, so I'm thinking of just stripping them away and let the plant focus on the 1s I matured by defoliating the top. Either way, this last defoliation will be the last, as I stated many times, your leafs are energy, and when doing defoliation make sure you do it for a reason, if your happy with all areas of your plants growth then I highly recommend you do some leaf tucking, (folding leafs back underneath stems, buds or behind other growth allowing light to reach desired area). Hopefully by not doing anymore defoliation and potentially stripping the new shoots, (caused by targeting defoliation), will help her stretch, as the hydro (my other zkittlez grow, not this plant) is going through a stretch but she is about 1.5 weeks ahead of the supersoil (this grow). WARNING constant defoliation will have the opposite effect, as the purpose of it is to focus on your plant on moving energy to bud sites, but constant defoliation will result in your plant constantly trying to recover leafs. So it's a balance. Targeting defoliation works well. This is what I have been doing. At the start it was just a need of letting light In and so on. But done right you can control the levels of node growth before you plant goes into heavy flowering. Make sure your colas and potential bud sites are more or less around the same level or if you know they will have time to catch up. 12/2/22 Not much to add. Plant has been left to recover, I've been adding biocanna bioRHIZOTONIC it helps for sickly plants and helps recover. Also I added bug traps in and around plants and redosed outside of pots and all areas that lead into tent with peppermint oil and Neem oil and organic pest foiler spray ready on hand. As for the work I done this week, I am starting to see the benefits already and will go into the results at the end of weeks report. And I'll add pics from said results. Still waiting for her to take a stretch. Nutrients given are listed above. Every 2nd-3rd day they get what's stated above. I will lower the dose of biocanna bioRHIZOTONIC by half, so 4ml/l, and continue on with regular feeds of these nutes right up until the last 2 weeks, then I'll start a flush, and maybe on the last 2 days I'll take her out and give her a root bath for 24-36hrs to make sure she gets a proper flush, with her being in supersoil I can't see lowering the EC enough for it not to be laced with chemicals when smoking. A flush is a must, I have flawless finish but I want organic results so, I'm gonna try what I've said above. If anyone has any advice please leave your suggestion in comments or message me. Pic added showing results of targeted defoliation. Lower bud sites got 10-20% bigger while top ones slowed down letting them all get a uniformed size. REPORT ON RESULTS FROM WHAT WAS DONE OVER THE WEEK. Well, as you can see in my pics, there was a method to my stripping madness, as you can see in week 7's last few pics you'll see all growth has caught up with each other more or less, a few new bud sites I didn't want but I'm not going to disturb them but I can't see them giving much over as they are too far behind to make and significant difference to the yield. But, all the lower sites that were in the stage of the new growth before I done targeted defoliation have all grown and the top slowed down just enough for 80-90% of the unmatured sites to catch up, results achieved. All in all, good week. Thanks for reading, happy growing gottagrowsometime

Grow Questions

So, I seen all my seeds were popping, so I checked out zkittlez organic and I could see the brown seed shell and was on its side, so I poked and proded and pult out a bent over stem, with a part of the shell husk not apart of the process, how will this effect it?

Never touch a sprout. You risk damaging the very tender sprout when you "help". If the seed/sprout is healthy it will do everything it needs to. It doesn't need help shedding the seed husk and needs no help emerging from the ground.

Is it too early for LST? I'd like the 2 main colas to be sticking up more, will I leave that to the growth or should I start training it now? I have the right stuff for lst, ties and that green sponge wire. Or will I wait till it finishes it's 3rd week at least. New to dis, so...

gottagrowsometimecommented3 years ago
@Percy, yeah she's taken over the tent completely. I just tied down some of the colas to show their bud sites to the light. Also it allowed me to be able to bend them out of the way as the growth was blocking out so much light in mid to low canopy. So, I bent them out and took about 30cm of height and by doing so it's allowed all the bud sites to catch up. Yeah 15 days maybe even 30 but after 15 days I'm hoping I'll have to tie the colas up to give it support rather than down. She should be a fun 1 if I can bring her to harvest.

Hey friend clean looking setup. Congratulations on getting into growing cannabis. I hope it is okay with you if I offer you some pointers? So cannabis plants love heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it, We can exploit this in veg and early flower to get more vigorous growth from our plants. Veg & early flower temps of 79-84 MAX lights on are good and no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for more than 10 degrees less with lights off we will stretch our plants a lot we do not want that. Keeping our temp gaps tight through veg and early flower is important. With autoflowers you need to watch for it, But with photoperiods once plants finish growing vertically by weeks 4-6 of flower THEN we want to open up our temp gaps to allow for more than 10 degrees less with lights off. I notice you have not done this I would recommend it. Now at this stage instead of stretching it will send extra energy into the plants budding process and resin production. As each week passes drop the temps slightly more widening the gap between lights on and lights off temps. Also if you have not done so yet get yourself a PAR meter & a thermal laser temp gun to better read your plants and grow to their needs. With that low wattage of LED's you can get them closer for sure, But these 2 pieces of equipment will help you do it safely. We want to get the most potential out of our lights as possible. Check out VPD, Vapor pressure deficit and how it relates to growing cannabis. All new growers should learn this and get used to using a VPD chart to go off. If you ever need help or have any questions please feel free to ask I am always around to help out. Check out my 200 light 7,000 plant diary & follow my profile! I am currently producing a tutorial series for youtube if something like that interests you hop on over to my youtube and subscribe. It is linked through my grow diaries profile. @LegacyMarketFarm, man, this is solid advice. Very good read. Will defo be applying this in my next grow for sure and adding these steady temps. Well my temps aren't spot on but witj light on compared to off it stays within 6-7c. I live in EU, so humidity is very high, I have dehumidifier to keep it between 60-70 But it's hard. Once I open my door it messes it all up, lol. I'll DM u if I need more help wit u what you said. Im actully going to put this down as I keep tips and stuff that makes sense for the next grow. So very much copy and paste. My mem has taken a tole thanks to that lovely grewn bud we strive for. Thanks very very much bro. Delighted with any advice/info from very experienced growers like urselfs. Talk soon.

Very NiceπŸ‘.. I noticed you said you don't have organic sugars. I use an organic molasses which has calcium, mag. and a bunch of stuff your plant needs and I also make a banana peel tea once in awhile to promote flowering. I've had great success growing like this, since I'm trying to keep it organic, check out my Strawberry banana and Cindy 99 diaries, 100% organic.. Have a good Day!!!

@northernMike, hey pal. Yeah I got loads and loads of expensive nutes. I should have focused on more organic nutes. Supersoil done a lot. Got some organic raw NPK mol off a friend. Have me an N mix and a PK mix Sep and he also put some trace elements in there 2. Wish I had them earlier. Thanks for the comments. GonnsGonna drop by your diary now.

gottagrowsometime
gottagrowsometimecommented3 years ago
@Granddaddy_Terp, hey buddy, sorry only seen your mes. They love big pots. The bigger the better. I let my hydro grow through the grate and was like a mini DWC after that happened it literally transformed my hydro zkittlez not this 1. See how low down the soil is. Still 1/3 of the pot left without soil. I'm sure if I had filled it up she would be much bigger. This plant has lots of ruideraills or whatever it's called and plants that have high amounts of that need extra micro nutes as compared to photos. Loves lots of cal and all the other micro nutes when moving into stigma. Good luck buddy.
