Started a seed in paper towel and let it sit on a heating mat. 36 hours later the tap root was out. I planted it in a 5 gallon fabric pot of a 50/50 Ocean forest and happy frog. I placed a clear cup over the moist soil and about a day and a half and she sprouted. I should have lowered the light almost immediately.
Week one was pretty much on cruise control. Used a spray bottle to water her. She sprouted and I should have lowered the light immediately but I didn’t. Just a little stretchy but not too bad and lights have been lowered to 24”. I have two fans blowing to strengthen up the core. About day four I added a Co2 can. I also rotate the fabric pot a half turn every day. Light is set to 60%, daily temp is 77, RH is 71 and VPD is.8 (thank you Niwa). Yellow gnat strips and diatomaceous earth added as a precaution. I hope week two goes smoothly.
Topped her today (12 days old) just above the fourth node. I hope it wasn’t too early. Have been slowly lowering the temp and RH. I plan on giving her some compost tea tomorrow.
Gave her tea with some recharge in it. Let’s see how she likes the taste of tea.
Loved the tea and drank it up. Overall week two produced new leaves and she’s starting to widen and get a little of that sweet odor. On to week three.
I am going to use Xtreme compost tea. Can I add Recharge directly to the tea? If so, because these are autos, do I dilute the tea and recharge by half?
Yeah you can add recharge straight to it.. it’s not likely to burn your plants even at full strength.. but you may wanna go half just to be safe. Good luck!
Between weeks two and three I’ve seen noticeable growth. But honestly, they are on autopilot. Feed, occasional watering, leaf tucking and stem bending.
Ordered LST clips… Love them. Week three has seen some decent growth. 21 days in and I’m starting to see pistils at the nodes. In a few days I’ll dry amend and water with compost tea.
Odor is mild but noticeable. I’ve lowered the temp and RH. VPD is right around 1.2 for early flower state.
