We popped two of these Cali Bay Dream seeds from Expert seeds and Garden of Green to see what they can do under my recently acquired MarsHydro TS1000.
These seeds will hopefully be a part of a bigger full tent grudge grow and I'll be looking for these genetics to shine. Boasting impressive baseline yield potential and terpenes to match is what drew me to select for this grow.
Let's talk setup;
Just the same as every other plant I grow, the seed went into a peat pod watered with dechlorinated tap water at a tds count around 155. They were then placed into a jiffy pod hut and relocated to an "incubation room" where Temps and humidity are higher inherently.
We will be placing the ladies from the hut into a 3.5gal pot and then into the tent for a SOG nightmare.
Cooling and humidity control are monitored and maintained with a TITAN Controller Saturn 6 with the additional photocell monitor. This is the tool anyone could use and benefit from. The ability to passively control everything is a gift not many possess for the rest of us I would recommend an environmental controller to allow for a more stress-free and consistent environment for your plants to dwell in.
The medium being used is SUNSHINE Company mix #4 enriched with mycorrhizae and RESiLENCE technology specifically tailored for cultivation of cannabis plants. The silicon technology blended into the medium establishes additional buffer as well as aiding with plant sustainability during periods of infrequent watering.
Let's grow! Until the sprouts are out, happy Growing and Happy toking.
Check out next week because boy was there some s***.
It's a cold winter here ain't no summer in winter here.
So here we are approaching a new year and the year starts at 0. We'll I wish the Temps didn't do the same thing. This week started out with a 3 degree Fahrenheit temperature. To make it worse the wind was blowing around 30mph.
Now you would think an indoor tent grow would be fine so what gives? Well, because I am revegging plants in the same tent I have my in-line fan running to exhaust smell and circulate air. This would be fine if the wind didn't overpower my inline fan and channel the cold air into my tent through the carbon filter...
Nonetheless I caught it early enough to flip the switch and just veg at 24 hrs so I can keep the tent warm at night. It's almost impossible to achieve a temp over 70f at the moment.
Next week the ladies will get placed into 3 gal fabric pots for the remainder of the grow.
I will also be doing l something different this grow. I will be bottle feeding nutrients to 1 pheno of each strain as a side by side comparison. Mainly incase I over feed and kill or just straight kill a phenotype I will have another one that is okay.
Cali Bay Dream popped the last of all being seedlings 7 and 8. But it's all about the finish and not about anything else according to some
We started out the week with a transition into some newly acquired fabric pots.
I purchased some 3 gallon fabric pots online and was pleasantly surprised to find they were holed and reinforced with some brass fittings. This will be awesome when we get to low stress training or simple tie downs.
My MarsHydro TS 1000 was raised up to the top of the tent almost and adjusted to roughly 80% power. To achieve a roughly 350 PAR value over the current growcanopy.
Between what I've heard and what I've seen I decided to focus on PAR Maps and less on the wattage output.
Between the two phenos I haven't seen much inconsistency so far and am excited to see how these two continue to grow. Training starts next week for at least 1 of the two phenos hopefully.
I also decided to purchase a VivoSun TDS/EC, and PH Tester as well as the General Hydroponics PH up and down kit.
I did all of that to find that my water is completely ideal for my plants as long as I de-chlorinate it prior to watering.
That wraps up the week so until next time, HG&HT!
This grow made possible in part by;
Expert Seeds - genetics in the tent
Marshydroeleen and the MarsHydro team - TS1000
Last week we moved everyone into fabric pots. This week we amended the top of the medium with some dry amendments from downtown to earth and adjusted the lights a bit.
Let's first talk about the genetics, the 2 phenos are so remarkebly close in appearance that I marked a 1 and 2 designation, the growth has been amazing and the plants look healthy as ever.
When the plants started out the light was mounted high, this was to hopefully acheive a tiny stretch so flower stages and later veg stages will be easier to maintain and manage the plants as well as watering them.
I dropped the light 6 inches from the prior height, I lowered my light to promote tighter node spacing and increased the intensity to really gain from photosynthesis.
The medium was amended with some 4-2-4 from down to earth, and some additional organic phosphates qnd nitrogen for a total npk of 6-5-5.
The environment continues to remain ideal for veg and the plants love it.
Until next week! HG&HT!
This week we topped the plants and removed the very bottom node of growth, and watered. The details are below! Thank you for stopping by!
Cali Bay Dreams and Phantom Cookies domina are by far the tallest and most consistent genetics displaying predominately sativa characteristics the new growth is slow and I'm wondering if an environmental factor stunted growth or if its just getting ready to send up the new tops?
The plants otherwise look great and are extremely healthy and happy. I have the environment controlled and temperature, rh, and PH is all in the ideal ranges and these ladies are looking great.
The grow is going super easy, so until the next update, HG&HT!
This week the Cali Bay Dreams get to stretch out a bit, I will be using their long nature to my advantage for training.
This week I fed the plants as signs of early deficiencies popped up. I fed her some organic blends and added a calcium amendment.
The rest of the week will consist of watering when dry.
The Cali Bay Dream is starting to shape up to be my favorite plants. They train well the grow great and easy, and the structure is shaping perfectly with minimal effort.
The light was transitioned to a 12/12at the beginning of the week and so far the stretch has been minimal because I've found if you top 1 week prior to flower you get really dense and Thigh packed buds on the new growth as the plant matures in flower. I hope this proves to be true as the plants start stretching for flower.
Watering in at 6.0-6.2. And at a rate of .5gal over a 2 day period until the ladies start drinking more.
These ladies are some of my favorite ever , I think I say that every week but these plants love life and love to grow. They train super easy and it's looking like it'll be a good harvest off of her.
We removed all lower growth and have been making sure to eliminate meaningless internodal growth. This will hopefully send the nutrients up to what matters most and I should see better end results.
Anyways until next week! HG&HT!
My favorite update! CALI BAY DREAMS! This week we watered when dry and loved watching her grow.
The light is set to max and the early internodal wipes have really helped focus the energy into the top bud sites made things easy and will hopefully take out 99% of the remaining effort I would gave normally used.
I amended some potassium a week ago or so and everything still is looking good.
Until the next update! HG&HT!
Man I tell you what... for a favorite strain I am kinda upset with the genetics as one is a Hermie and I will likely have to pull one from the tent. So far I have removed 9 pollen sacs not nanners... sacs.... so screw me right? Idk I'll monitor and see what I can do...
Watering and such have been the same as every other week and honestly I'm kinda frustrated at the moment because if I miss one sac then my whole tent is screwed.... but the buds forming are frosty.
Interesting week, light schedule change by an hour, temp change of 6 degrees cooler, and signs of early deficiencies and some watering schedule issues.
Watering in ph 5 9-6.2
Light 17" 100%
Nutrients to be used organic 4-2-4 and then a second P Amend will be added if needed.
I love this plant. One of my absolute favorites.
I have watered her at a ph range of 5.8 to 6.3 and have the light set to 100% at 15" above the canopy.
Excellent genetics.
Easy weeks leaf tripped the lower growth to stop nutrient uptake at lower sites. If I choose to reveg any ill have the lower growth to play with.
The light is 16" @100%
Ph 5.8-6.0
I need a new tent and light setup to run some clones.
Flushing this week and preparing for a harvest .
It's so close and just around the corner. I can hardly wait. I'll be doing trichome shots tomorrow for update close ups of the trichomes for the final few weeks.
Water ph 5.9-6.1
Light 100% @18"
I'm super impressed with the color and structure. Plant 2 has some smaller buds but this was also the plant I removed several pollen sacs from in early flower. So a true herm may have less potency and may produce less trichomes by nature of things. Idk either way they look fire to me.
Harvest was sad I didn't want to cut them down. That said, these baby's are dense as hell and smoke amazing. The water cure worked out well and pulled them out when the PPM dropped back to below 50.
Not the best yeild but for what I'm going for it's] effect I already planted my next garden lol.
Smoke report will have all the other details.
