Boring week... Only thing that got done was lowering the light from 30" at germination time to 20" because the seedlings stretched almost 3 inches on the first days... Took LUX from 15k to around 30k.

Things are getting a bit more interesting now that they started to look like plants. Tiny branches starting. At 17 days from germination, in soil, i believe they look alright...

Transplanted them to the 7 gal vivosun fabric pots... Turned the HLG a bit up, maybe around 100 watts or so... Plants are loving life, fresh soil, clean water and good ventilation below and above canopy They both are pushing out their 6th node, probably will FIM them amd start applying some Kushman massages to strengthen the branch stems... For now, FIM is the next step probably tomorrow... Then wait for the branches to shoot out... Plants seem very healthy and developing very quickly for soil, tough my last run with coco+perlite+FF trio was definitely quicker (and more expensive) even with bag seeds...

So they really took off now, hopefully developing roots all around those 7gal bags... Dehumidifier died about 3 days ago, will take a few weeks to get back, but will be there for flowering... I have only put about 4 liters of water in there, 2 liters with nutes (FF trio soil) and another 2 liters a few days later to keep the edges moisture... Both plants got FIMed, but apparently i missed a FIM on one of them and now looks weird, will update on that later as the plant develops... Turned up the HLG another bit up to 130 watts... Got a new neighbor, and the carbon filter is ready but the anxiety is creeping in (haven't had neighbors in years) Will be bending and massaging branches (Kushman's strengthening massages) for at least 1 more week, maybe 2, will try to get the biggest root mass possible, then switch to flower... Planning on doing a 3x4 canopy with both plants. Another 175 watts light is ready to assist the HLG kit... Everything is almost on autopilot for now...

So i messed up a FIM on the plant on the left, had to top her off, and during the process, i accidentally took a branch, so she has less tops than her right side sister for now, and a not-as-nice canopy.... Weather turned to rainy, and i will be stripping them this week a bit for airflow and will be setting the canopy as flat and even as i can... This next week will be the last week of full veg, and then they will get switched to flower... Getting the potato peels + crushed egg shells + banana tea ready for a small dose this week... Haven't checked runoff PH in a couple of weeks, so that has me nervous, but plants look great, so i will make sure to have the dehumidifier at hand for a heavy full watering so i can check runoff during transition to flowering (easier there to not over do it with humidity because they get really thirsty during the transition weeks)... Im REALLY trying to avoid micro-managing/overdoing/stress about things this round, will try to let them do as much as possible of the job... Smell is instantaneous as you touch them, and both have those initial pistils everywhere, they are super ready to flower... Will take some days to flatten and widen the canopy a bit, and strengthen the branches as much as possible through massages... But flower is imminent...

The wounded plant recovered fully from the branch breaking, but developed what looks like Mg deficiency, so they both got some Epsom Salt, and will be getting some Calmag next watering... Hopefully she'll recover quickly so they can go into flowering without issues... An extra week in veg will help develop more roots anyways, so it's all good for now

So the girls are still on recovery, one plant from Mg and the other from Calcium... Bending the branches every day to strengthen them as much as possible before flower... Both are getting 5ml x gal of calmag for now, the new growth looks good, but want to give them a few more days... Will start to load them up with PK to prepare for flowering, also started adding a spoon of diatomaceous earth to the top of the soil once a week for silica, and will be top dressing with worm castings also weekly... Im kind of disappointed with the soil choice, clearly too light a mix for grown plants, notably lacking enough Calcium and Magnesium... Don't know what to expect from those plants during the stretch, hopefully they will at least double their size... Also, switched places for them, to see if the difference in spectrums does anything to the growth on them.. One is longer and lankier, the other pretty bushy and short... Will do a heavy watering to test runoff with the next feed, need to make sure that the PH is right before switching lights...

The plants look very good now, seems like the deficiencies are contained as most of the new growth looks very good and clean.. The HLG clearly produces much better results than the Roleadro, much more light for less watts, so now im planning on rotating both plants every week so they both get the high intensity as evenly as possible... One of them is very, very dense, so i will have to be defoliating as soon as possible... Have been bending and twisting the branches(Kusman's chiropractic massages) , hoping for maximum strength so it can sustain the flowers weight by itself... FoxFarm Grow Big and Big Bloom at full strength + Bionova PK booster + Calmag at around 6.8PH They're now down to 16/8, probably will be flowering in 2 or 3 days

Finally i see flowering signs, so now i start counting the flowering weeks officially... Paradise Seeds says around 65 days, so that countdown starts now... Got them back from lots of deficiencies and accidents, but happily they seem to be extremely healthy now, growing quick and strong... Have lots of hopes on this run, my first one with cloth pots and a dehumidifier at hand for flowering... Im just aiming for under 60% RH for now, will try to lower it more in a few weeks... Lots of rain and humidity here lately, but the coldest days of the year are coming soon... Im really happy right now with the grow, the plants smell great when you touch them, look strong and beautiful, and they are things are going well for now... Hopefully my new neighbor don't have a problem with the inevitable flowering smells to come... My FoxFarm Trio is about to die and i don't have anything at hand to really replace it, so i will be on the look for some nutes soon... For some reason, water out of the tap lately is around 6.4 to 6.8 PH, amd that always is welcome. .

This is getting interesting now, they both are stretching, one mlre than the other, lots of flower points, need to plan one final prune for the lower budsites that will not be getting good light... Weather here is crazy, with lots of heat and rain lately, forcing me to use the dehumidifier most of the time during Lights Off... I started feeding about 1/3 of the recommended FoxFarm schedule, just because i plan on making the little i have left to last until the end of this run... Will top dress with about 200 gr of wormcastings each pot this week, maybe a little diatomaceous powder, and im feeding calmag and a PK booster 2 times a week... To me, they look absolutely beautiful and healthy, i hope the short, dense one don't catch mold or something... No smell apart from the smell they give when touched... Im loving this genetics, the way i got 2 very different phenos, structure wise and how stupid easy they are to keep happy... So far, i haven't tried too much in the form of "real" genetics, nor have i grown too many plants from a reputable breeder, but so far, Paradise Seeds has produced the most absolutely beautiful plants i have grown and seen with my eyes (close second place to SweetSeeds, beautiful plants too) Can't wait to see how they will be looking in a few weeks 💪💪💪

Grow Questions

Hello growers, hope you are all doing great! I have a question about defoliating: What and how much? I know the theory, big fan leaves blocking light for lower bid sites, but how much is too much? Could i take like half of the fan leaves today, and another big amount next week?
Solved
Leaves. Too many

If I’m going to do it.. which after more and more experience, I do much less than I used to.. but if I’m going to do it I do it around day 21 of flower. At that point, most your stretching and veg growth is done so you have a good sense of the final structure of the plant. Taking half of the fans is way too much IMO - tho there are exceptions to the rule. I’d say go for like 15-25% max. That said, you’ll hear all types of arguments on here as to what is the right way to go with defoliation.. just trust your gut as far as what makes sense to you.. and see how that works out. Adjust next grow according to your results here. Cannabis cultivation culture is so full of misinformation and myth.. again, trust your gut and learn from experience.

So i waited until yesterday to do any defoliation, and ended up taking lots of low branches as well... They took the defoliation like nothing happened and grew a bit bigger, now the bud sites look like they are ready to gain some weight soon.. Had to rearrange them diagonally inside the tent, because they won't fit anymore side by side, they are taking easily more than a 3x4 now... Need to remember to train them in a rectangular shape next time instead of round.. No smell yet, can't wait All going great so far, into the final stretch to the goal💪💪

Everything looks good and feels good... Smells even better. A bit hotter than I would like, but they seem fine. One branch on the biggest one got too heavy and started falling to a side... I secured it for now, took a few low growth from that and will be looking at ways to keep that from falling over... Some mushrooms came from the soil on the smaller plant... Will keep an eye out for humidity... Good week overall, about half way through flowering now...

They just entered the second month into flowering, the big one seems hungrier than i can feed her, but still looks good... The small one has a perfectly flat canopy, and the fattest buds of the 2... Nothing bad to report, just wish i had more light power... They smell great and i can't wait to try them out

Weather is getting hotter and hotter every day now and will be for another couple of months, so it's going to be a hot harvest... Temps getting close to 90°F now every day for a couple of hours... Plants seem pretty happy so far, taking the heat, hopefully they won't stress too much over that... Flowers getting FAT, QUICK. Need to get some sticks for support for the taller plant. Im feeding almost nothing this week, mostly just plain water. They did get a worm castings top dressing a week ago, along with some diatomaceous earth, and that should be kicking in about this week... My FoxFarm Trio is almost empty , so i will make it last until the end. Pretty happy with this grow, my best so far, and the easiest too... I do have better gear now though... Specially the dehumidifier.... Now im going into the weeks that always kill me with mold. The difference is, now i have a proper dehumidifier and mold should get under control, so i can really explore the 8th and 9th week in flower... Let's hope it works out well Plants smell and look awesome.

This was a relaxed week... Only thing i did was find some stakes to support some of the bigger branches, and that was it... The tent smells amazing, the weather has been kind with lower temps this week and everything seems to be going well... Also, i changed both intakes from 6" to 8", almost doubling the intake surface area, wich makes for better airflow (possibly this is also helping lower temps) and a bit quieter exhaust inline fan operation (happy surprise and noob tip, make your passive intakes as big as possible). Im a bit limited here by nutrients and lights, even ventilation, but so far i am having my best grow, the least problems (only 1 i can remember, about a PH swing for a few weeks) and my biggest plants inside that tent. The HLG is killing it over a 2x3 area, and that's asking a lot from it, but im impressed with the Roleadro that keeps on going strong with its cheap hardware after 3 years, still putting some decent PAR for a 2x2 area... So, around 44 days of flowering now, and i mean actual flowers growing, and 51 days from the light switch to 12/12... Paradise Seeds says 65 days, so i still have 3 more long weeks or so... Will be checking trichomes from now on and im thinking on trying some light defoliation, as they are still too dense for comfort in my humid environment... Will be reading anything i can find around here for late flower defoliation, and will appreciate if anyone leaves some tips about it on the comments Happy growing everyone 💪💪💪💪

So, of course something had to happen, and it happened : The new dehumidifier failed. Right on week 7 to 8... Just when flowers are packing weight... The humidity is going crazy high now when lights out. Around 80% RH in the lung room... Surely over 85% inside the tent... Frustrating and sad... I really wanted to take these plants to week 10... Now its all about watching closely and try to give them some time to mature further... I have had mold on every single grow so far here, except in this one, so far... Maybe will be harvesting in a few days... Hopefully weather helps... Overall, im really happy with this grow, and with the Space Cookies... They smell amazing now, like a sweet but strong pine smell... Trichomes seem more clear than fully milky still... Would love to get them fully milky, but i definitely need much more light power(or a reliable dehumidifier)... Im pretty sure that they would be either ready or closer to being ready with proper light power by now (week 9 since light switch to 12/12) Don't even going to rant about the dehumidifier beyond this : if you are in Colombia, just avoid the Oster brand... Plants seem to be taking the new high humidity with little problems, and i stopped nutrients already and im limiting the watering as much as possible to avoid extra humidity in there... Hopefully the DH gets back soon and/or the weather gets a bit dryer to harvest and dry... Will try to make it to the next weekend, give them more time to mature some more...

Im still here, haven't seen mold so i haven't chopped anything yet... Plants seem to be more mature now, im almost tempted to harvest tomorrow, but i will try to give them at least another few days... I guess this is the last week before harvest... Everything went well so far(fingers crossed) even with the dead dehumidifier and the extremely humid and rainy weather... Im letting them dry out in the pots for a few days... I hope they smoke anywhere near as great as they smell... Extremely sticky. Beautiful colors at the end of flowering also are welcome, such beautiful plants... Barely any water this last week, as i can't afford to add any extra humidity in there... It's hard to gauge water levels on 7 gal pots for me still... Plants are clearly very resistant to mold, as i have tried several different varieties in here and all of them got mold at some point, and much before week 8 for sure... Very impressive... So far, at this point, i am pretty happy with this grow. Can't wait to try it. Will report back with the harvest results

So i didn't knew what to expect at the beginning, having had problems with every single grow before this one, with absolutely every plant, because my grow space is so humid... But i got a dehumidifier and tried again. Man, the combination of great genetics and a more tightly controlled environment really makes a difference! I got over 290 grams of dried and cleaned flower total, maybe a bit over 300, out of 2 smallish plants with basic nutrition and barely enough light for the canopy i created. Im impressed I did used a dehumidifier most of the flowering period, but it failed for a couple of weeks right at week 7 of flower, so that's why i chopped before i wanted, but luckily the DH got back for the drying process. The couple of weeks that it stopped working, humidity went insane, touching 90% RH a few times during lights out (also had a couple of electricity blackouts) but these plants just never showed ANY signs of mold or even discomfort... They were happy almost all of their lives, except for a couple of weeks on veg where i had a bit of a Mg deficiency, that was easily solved with a few doses of Cal-Mag... Overall, nice and easy run. Not the heaviest feeders, they got consistently slightly burned tips their whole life by using about a third of the recommended FoxFarm dosage (there was also lots of worm castings in the soil for flowering)... I like that The flower clusters themselves weren't the biggest or more impressive i jave seen, but they were easy to train, to get a flat canopy, and they also produced lots of good to great looking mids below those top colas. The smell during flower was simply amazing, and i got my whole neighborhood stinking for a couple of weeks lol Right now im waiting for the cure to really try the tops, but i already know that im going to LOVE this strain... I already have another Space Cookies seed ready for the next run, see how it does in only living soil with a longer Veg time, maybe SCROG her... I will try to get back with comments about the cured tops in about a month or so... Happy growing everyone 💪💪💪
