HI EVERYBODY! It has begun. Kings Kush Auto first week seed to germination took exactly 1 week. so far so good.
Growing in a 60cm x 60cm x 140cm grow tent. Only a small grow for personal use. Running a Viparspectra PAR600 LED grow light. First week the seedling will get 24hrs of light, after that will move to 18/6.
Added a few pics of the environment she (hopefully) will be growing in. Very small, but just enough to start off with and get a few grows under the belt. I will definitely upgrade the tent in the future, and use this small tent for germinating seeds/clones 👍 I will be using the GROW, MICRO, BLOOM threesome from advanced nutrients as the base and supplement it with all the good stuff from Bloom Yellow Bottles and with the addition of MycoGold (Mycorrhizae soil supplement). Once the G,M,B is finished I will transition to the Bloom Yellow Bottles GROW and FLOWER as my base nutrients. Reason: cheaper, use less per feed and MOSTLY derived from organic products. Keep up with my grow and fingers crossed it doesn't go to shit! HAPPY GROWING EVERYBODY!
Only second week, very tiny amount of nutrients given. Seedling doing well albeit slowish growth but not concerned. 18/6 light/dark schedule, water 2 times a day, 61-70% humidity in grow tent. Light lowered to 18Inches from top of plant. Seedling transplanted to 16L smart pot. For the Australian growers on here I am using Debco organic potting soil mixed with Brunnings perlite. Soil pH 7.
Had to go away for 5 days and unfortunately came back to some slight discoloration of the leaves. Looks like light stress but I could be mistaken. I had the light at 18in but raised it before I left. Some new growth however is looking good so far.
Week 4 - Growth starting to pick up, yellowing on the leaves from previous weeks stopped and hasn't progressed further. Also snipped off yellow tips from older leaves, (Only 2 tips). Added 1tsp of Mycorrhizal Fungi supplement with the mid week watering. Also allowing tap water to sit for a few days before it is used to make sure that fungal colony is not decimated by dissolved chlorine. Apart from that everything looks like it is going well. Temperature and RH stable during day and night cycles. Keep coming back week by week for more updates.
Growth rate starting to pick up. Had some yellowing and crispy tips, probably nutrient burn so I have dialled those back for this week, I also increased the water from 1.5L to 2L while maintaining the lower amount of nutrients, just to give the plant the opportunity to use any extra nutrients in the soil. I will follow this with a mid week drenching of the soil. Apart from that she is looking might FINE!! till next week.
Coming along slowly, older leaves starting to yellow, could it be: nute burn? Nitrogen deficiency? something else? Any help would be appreciated to stop this issue now before I get into flower. Watered with a good 4L of water midweek. Parameters stable in grow tent. Humidity fluctuates by about 5/10%, temp stable during the day decreases by about 8-10 degrees overnight. Unless someone tells me otherwise I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and hopefully, the yellowing will stop or won't become too much of an issue. Till next week, Peace!
Yellowing on lower, older leaves. Starts with crispy tip, curling downwards then slowly progress to the whole leaf. The leaves haven't started falling off yet but I feel if it doesn't get resolved soon then this will be the next step. Thanks for the help.
Hi @Dr_Kush! I would give it a good flush and lower the EC for the next meals, you may have created a lockout by adding too much nutrients in a short period of time. Also, make sure your ph-pen is correctly calibrated, a wrong pH could also explain these symptoms. Keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
Looks like the overfeeding issue has been resolved. Just took 2 good waterings. The growth rate has started to increase, 2-3 inches in the one week. Everything else is stable and seems to be working for the plant. I will resume feeding schedule next week. I have marked this week as the vegetative stage but there are some white pistils starting to pop up so you can technically say it is in the pre-flowering stage.
She's coming along VERY nicely! Filling out laterally and vertically. Very faint smell coming off her, All leaves looking healthy and green, nice thick stem. Back on the feeding schedule today. Runoff sitting at 1050ppm, pH sitting at 6.3. Super happy with how everything is coming along. Stay tuned next week for more updates.
Short update for the week, everything is going well there has been some verticle growth in the last week. Bud size slowly increasing, along with the aroma in the grow tent. Still having some slight issues with the tips becoming crispy. Probably going to add another watering midweek to help dilute nutrients left in the soil and give the plant the chance to use those nutrients. we'll see how it goes. This is one short and fat plant, the stem is nice and thick which is a positive.
Hey there growing community! Week 10 of the grow, the Kings Kush is putting on the weight albeit slowly. I will say this, it has to be one of the slowest growing plants I have ever come across, especially since this is is an autoflower. But I will persevere and follow this grow till the end. I have increased the frequency of waterings to 3 waterings per week, 1 large watering with nutrients the other 2 lighter waterings just water. This plant is the definition of 'short and fat'. As you can see from the photos the first few internodes aren't even internodes, it's like she has the plant equivalent of 'Cankles' lol😂😂. as long as she keeps fattening up I'm happy. The flowers have an orangey-citrusy smell to them reminiscent of fake orange flavoured fruit drink, LOVE IT! Either way the forecast for the next few weeks: expecting periods of intense frost! till next week. 👋
Hey growing community, not much to report this week apart from she is getting fatter. The smell of her buds still has hints of citrus but now it's getting those heavy kush notes. overall happy with the progress. Till next week.
Another week closer to harvest. Gave her a good haircut to allow light onto the inner bud sites. I know it's late to chop off leaves but she seems to have taken it quite well, risky yes worth it, ever so!
The main cola is laden with trichomes, nice and dense too. Secondary buds are packing on the weight. I'll MAYBE go another week of feeding and then start flushing or I start flushing next week it all depends on when I get my digital microscope in the mail and really look at the trichome colour. Till then PEACE.
Hey everyone, Finally started the last 2 weeks of flowering, I will just be giving her Phed water from now until the 24th and then she gets the snip. The main cola is super dense and the auxiliary bud sites are really coming up nicely. She isn't the biggest plant but hopefully ill get an Oz or 2 dry weight at the end. But for a first attempt whatever i get will be a good start. Can't say much else apart from can't wait to harvest the kings kush!
Another short one. The first week of flush done, had to go away for 4 days so I just gave her a good watering before I left and just kind of hoped for the best really. when I got back it didn't seem like it had been affected by the big gap in watering. gave her a good watering today, runoff ppm down to 225 and pH sitting at 6.5. buds looking mighty frosty too! from the close-ups you can see a few more amber trichomes popping up but most are looking nice and opaque!
Finally, harvest time! So after an extra long growing period (in my opinion) even more so because it was an autoflower, 2 weeks of those was a flush, final runoff ppm reading was around 230ppm so pretty happy with that reading. Pretty happy with the wet weight considering it was one short plant. Will have to update the dry weight once drying is done. Main cola size was 55g (Wet) either way it was nice and dense. more info when the buds are dry and i have smoked the buds.
Flushed it today with a good amount of pHed water. I'll probably do the same at the start of next week. I'm putting her on a diet for a week. We'll see if anything changes for the better.
@Dr_Kush,ok , perfect, it isn’t overwatering.
Can you check the amount of the EC (ppm or mS) coming from the drain please ? I could be able to tell if it’s a nutrient deficiency or too many .
We’re getting closer to your solution bro 😉
@Dr_Kush,is it a chronic schedule or do you left the pots until they get lightweight again before watering ? I’m suspecting rotten roots due to overwatering....
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,checked the runoff ppm, upper 2000’s so definitely over feeding. It could also be that here in Oz no commercially available soil is fertiliser free they all have some crap in them. Don’t know what or how much. I’m just gonna hold back on the nutes for a week just go with pHed water and see how I go.
@bobo420, Thanks Mate even if the little guy only has 4 leaves now they are all reaching for the light, high and mighty!! Cant wait for the serious growth to start.
Seem to be coming along nicely now ;)
You don't need to wait for several days for chlorine to evaporate, it takes 12-24 at most, depending on your tap water, it won't hurt to leave it for longer though. You may want to check the PH of it though
