First week of my first attempt at growing. I got her to germinate in a paper towel in 2 days and then put in a jiffy. Beggining of summer in the southern hemisphere, let's see what this Cheese can do over here! Organic and outdoor.

Got her used to the morning and afternoon sun, she loves it! The root started to come off the jiffy so I transplanted into a 3 liter vase with soil, perlite abd coconut fiber.

Survived alone, yay! Still signals of overwatering yet the soil is dry. A whole entire week of rain and cloudy weather. Never using jiffy again!! I noticed the leaves dropping and signs of root rot, along with black spots at the base of the stem. Had to do an emergency transplant in a more aerated soil and get rid of all the jiffy, it was soaking wet while the rest of the soil was dry!

After the transplant I really thought she was dead, but I still sprayed some alg-a-mic (biobizz) to help. Another rainy and cloudy week, no sun and the plant lost vigor from the fungus. I also noticed some white spots on the leaves, probably mildew, along with root rot. At the end of week 4 I found some trichoderma growing in the yard and tried adding some (as I read it feeds on root rot). Applied silica (diatomaceous earth) on the black stem, as well as on the leaves, and added to soil.

I made a lot of mistakes, but this girl is a fighter!!! The sun finally came around for a few days and she was able to get some energy and finish fighting off the funghi. I've started bio-grow, along with alg-a-mic, aloe vera and some other minerals (calcium and magnesium). She just LOVES the sun. And it can get very strong in the middle of summer in a tropical place. Hopefully it won't rain as much again, but the white mildew has died off completely.

Today is the last day of week 6, an amazing week for my baby! It's feeling like summer again, hard sun and very hot temperatures. Sweet Seeds can add "heat resistant" to this strain, as she's handling it very well. If I get her off the midday sun, she will curve and ask for more, so I have to put her back. Some native plants in my garden are suffering worse than her in that kind of sun. The soil measures were over 42 degrees C at the most. I got a thermohigrometer to measure things a but better, and my ph meter is about to get here soon too, no more mistakes. Overall she's doing great, started getting branches on the side and I'm thinking about topping her soon and then start LST. Feeding every two days because of the heat, she's responding well to it. I water about 200 ml of the solution.

I want to top my plant and then be able to clone the tip. My sweet cheese is finishing week 6 (but had no sun for 2 weeks, so it's a bit delayed), when would it be best to top her and get a decent clone?

When you are cloning cannabis their are a few things to keep in mind. The tip or top growths of the plant do not close all that well because they have different hormones in them vs the bottom of the plant where clones are normally taken from. When you do take clones you want to do it before you feed the plant its weekly feeding. You only want to take clones from established healthy plants that can take the loss of a few branches. With out the plant betting in good health this can leave it open to stress and disease. Topping refers to taking just the tip or sometimes a small node off the top of plant, normally less then a finger nails length. Clones will need more room to root and become successful. I have once taken off the entire top 3 nods on a more mature plant and it took them forever to root and establish themselves. This was done because the part of the plant got damaged in some LST training. not because I wanted clones. Side note, if you plant has had not sun for two weeks it needs some sun and time to recover from that dark period. Overall its not best to clone the tips, and you want your plant to be bigger before taking clones from the lower growth. Best Of Luck and Happy Growing!

Another good week, with lots of sun. It only started raining today, and will be like that for a couple of days. I've topped her on the beggining of the week, side branches are starting to grow. I will start LST in a couple days too. No more root juice as she's stronger now. Her stem has more than doubled its thickness. I'm only using bio grow, alg-a-mic (foliar and root) and products with calcium/magnesium. I was worried about my light not being strong enough, so I got a 15W LED lamp that I'm keeping close to her on very rainy days and at night to prevent flowering (we don't get much longer days near the equator, even though it's summer). See you next week!

Terrible weather. Some cities got over 200 mm of rain in 3 days, people died. The plant got like 2 days with a few hours of sunlight so it's not grown so much. Started LST on monday and some defoliation on bigger leaves that were on the way. Every day I try to bend a little more but no sun no gain. Some Mimosa pudica flowers as bonus, since my girl is struggling again.

Sun's back on from 7 am to 6 pm! Let's see if it lasts this time, goddamn global warming. I thought she looked sad on the plastic vase so I made a transplant to a felt vase, a bigger one (3 gallons). The soil temperature dropped A LOT, I'm only using felt from now on. Way better to carry around. The new soil also has that amazing fertile smell we all know and enjoy. It's got worm castings and some chicken manure I've been composting for more than a year, also perlite and coco coir for aeration. Slow and steady, I'll keep her in veg for at least another month (rain made me get behind by weeks).

She's bigger and stronger every day, as the sun is shining again. I've also started to put her in north-south position, which I think helped. I bend a little every day and I'm getting a good response, lots of new branches coming. I'm gonna let the bottom ones grow a bit more and then get cuttings, just leave the top. All's going great! Just patience at this point. I love to see the ladybugs on her, getting ants and other pests off, they're actually quite vicious.

I'm mesmerized by how much she grew this week! More than doubled if you compare last week's last photo and today's last photo (pics are in cronological order, from the beggining to the end of the week, as I update on saturdays). I've asked for the sun so much that he got cocky and is now burning us all 😂 the plant seems to be taking it well though, I give a little help by watering with 2 ml/L alg-a-mic twice a week. Also bio-grow 2 ml/L once a week and a little calcium/magnesium. I'm not sure if it was the felt, the mycorrhyzae from the manure or the sun, but she's gorgeous now. Direct sun from 7 am to 6 pm and then 15 W LED until 11 pm to prevent flowering. See you next week!

I swear I'm not obsessed with ladybugs, but this one was the prettiest, almost like a giraffe... ANYWAY...she grows, I bend. The weather has been perfect for a while now, very sunny and medium humidity. In my opinion her leaves are leaning more sativa, which is great for the heat. Getting pretty big now, lots of new shoots coming on top. I've started my countdown until flowering: 5 weeks. I've also finished her last throne, a 10 gallon felt vase filled with some soil mix I made. This mix will be "cooking" for 3 weeks before transplant, to get the microorganisms going. I'm very happy in how this is turning out! Thanks for visiting and see you next week.

Very hot week, which doesn't seem to be a problem for her as long as she drinks her water. Since these are the last weeks of veg, I'm giving 2 ml bio-grow twice a week, and getting a nice response. The sun's UV is really intense, I don't know if that helps. This weekend's supposed to be the last rainy days of summer, so I decided to enjoy the moist air and take some clones. I got 4 big and 2 smaller viable cuttings, and used Chuck's guide on how to do it (thanks a lot!). I researched a lot of organic cloning gels and came up with my own, based on their composition. I used aloe vera gel, a little root juice, trichoderma (read articles about how they improve cutting's success), top max (also read articles on leonardite for that matter) and alg-a-mic (same). It worked for blackberries and hopefully I'll get at least a couple! I'm not sure it can be consided lollipopping, but I've removed all lower branches, left only 4 major ones. Countdown until flowering: 4 weeks. Thanks for visiting and see you next week!

These last weeks of summer have been quite hot, but the tendency is to cool down as April comes. Still not something to concern about, she reaches a lot for the sun even on the hottest hours of the day. A small tragedy happened on Thursday, a heavy metal plant hanger fell on top of her. It broke the upper part of the main stem in two, but I took action and duct taped it, along with a clothes hanger to keep them together. I think it worked because the branches are not wilting, even in the hardest sun. A small branch also suffered and got taped, so maybe it'll turn into a bit of supercropping too I guess. Other than that everything's doing great. If you see white stuff on the leaves it's just some diatomaceous earth I sprayed to prevent bugs in flowering. All my clones are growing new leaves too, so I guess that was a huge success (hire me biobizz 😂). They're weird because they've outgrown the dome, but I must leave it for a few more days. Also, Trichoderma fungi have been growing like CRAZY in my other plants. It smells really great, like a strong pungy earthy fertile smell. I've added some to her flowering soil, I wish I could post smells online. Countdown until flowering: 3 weeks. Thank you for visiting and see you next week!

Getting close now! Pretty much all rain has stopped but the air's been very moist, specially at night. Yesterday I made the final transplant to her definitive vase. I will keep her vegging for another 2 weeks to make sure all the stress has been sorted and her roots can stretch a bit. I always give root juice after every transplant, and also started on a little top max once a week. Some leaves were turning yellow so I'll amp up on biogrow too. The tape unglued and I took it off, that huge callus is forming to fix the opening, let's see what happens. Thank you for visiting and see you next week!

It's been long four months, but the time is finally coming! Today starts her last week in veg, next saturday she'll be going in the dark. There were a couple of rainy days in what we call here "little summer" in the early beggining of autumn, the last days with high temperatures and humidity. That didn't stop her from growing like crazy. I'm actually amazed at how fast she grows, maybe because of the fast trait? I can only imagine how big one of these can get in the ground, maybe I'll do that with my other seed next year. If all those shoots turn into colas, I'll be a very happy grower...anxious to start flowering. Also, does anyone's pet likes biogrow? For some reason I have to fight off my cat when dosing... Thank you for visiting and see you next week!

I've slacked off this week, was super busy with life, but things are returning to normal. For that reason I'll let her stay in veg for another 3, 4 days to catch up, giving a lot of nitrogen (she's a very hungry girl). The weather's also been way too moist, I can't stand the slugs on my garden anymore, goddamn pests. I'll have to think of a way to let my plant in the dark but safe from them. It wasn't supposed to be this moist at this time of year. All my clones died, I transplanted them when they had small roots but for some reason all of them died a few days after. Maybe it had to do with this high humidity. Anyway, she's 50 cm wide! 5 cm growth only in the last week. Impressive genetics. Amazing fruity sweet smell when I press a branch, not so much cheesy though. Thank you for visiting and see you next week! Flowering's just around the corner (finally).

Fall is here! Beautiful weather forecast for this month, temperatures ranging from 15 - 29 degrees C, no chance of rain and beautiful sunny days. It does get a little moist at night though, hopefully that will lower in May. She's very strong, with a thick stem. I've been letting her grow tall as this is the official last week of veg. Tonight she'll stay in the dark for the first time. Excited! I think she'll be a big girl. Thank you for visiting and see you next week!

First week of flowering complete, she's throwing pistils like crazy! Also gained some height. The weather's been amazing, I just love this time of year. The sky is so blue, you can't really see any clouds, just sun and more sun (less intense UV though). I don't know if it's my neighbor's light or the street lamp but my yard has been very bright at night. To settle that I'm keeping her inside my car (with all the windows opened) at night, with cloth to prevent light from getting in. I hope that will be okay, had to be creative. I've started Bio-bloom and continued the same feeding schedule. This strain smells amazing...I was expecting a more stinky cheese smell like parmesan, but her tones actually remind me of blue cheese like brie, which I just looooove. And also fruits. Thank you Sweet Seeds for this gem 🤩

Very fast flowering indeed! At day 10 the "bud heads" on top were already forming like crazy. Today's a bit cloudy but she got 10 hours of direct (and strong) sunlight every day this week. She moves around with the sun's movement, eager to get every bit of light. I saw a few insect eggs so I applied diatomaceous earth, don't be alarmed by the white color! No issues so far, very healthy and strong. The branches are thickening and providing a stable canopy to handle the weight of the buds. Very happy and excited! Breeder says another 6 weeks to go. First the good news, it's gotten so cold it's snowing! 😂 lots of trichomes showing up on all buds and leaves. There was one last rainy morning this week, I'll probably have to add a few more days to the deadline but who cares, look at how beautiful she is! I'll wait as long as she wants me to wait. Other than that full sun for 10 hours straight. I've been giving nutes twice a week but I feel maybe it was too much, I can see some leaves complaining a little, so I'll reduce to once a week. I'm confused by the biobizz chart because they consider 12 weeks of flowering, and this one's supposed to be 8. Hopefully she won't suffer much as they're organic (no other signs of stress anyway). I also dig a hole to try to hide her more, she's so big I'm a bit paranoid. Thank you for visiting and see you next week!

Pretty much half of the flowering cycle has been completed! 28 days today. She's very vigorous, thickening up and frosting A LOT. I've also done some more gentle LST to spread a few branches further because new shoots are coming everywhere. Beautiful to look at. It's been quite moist at night, the sun sometines only starts at 10 am because of fog. When I decide to grow we have the rainiest year in the past 13 years and also the coldest May since 2006, fuck...at least the RH drops to 30% when the sun's at max, it's also been quite cold, that'll probably avoid mold problems. She started to smell very gently this week. Started as a ripe guava sort of smell that has now developed to VERY sweety and fruity profile. Strong skittles smell when I press the flowers, which is awesome! I'm a big sugar fan, I did not expect this smell but I just loved it! Thank you for visiting and see you next week! I'm so anxious I keep having dreams about her, mostly nightmares where someone chops her up or a bug kills everything...want to harvest soon 😂

We had a radical drop of temperatures this week caused by a polar air mass and a storm near my state. My idea to let her inside my car was actually very handy not only for the dark period but also to protect her from such cold. Temperature's ranging from 3 to 26 degrees C in just a day, crazy. I kinda wish she had purple genes, but I won't complain. She's growing fat every day. A bit nutrient burned so I cut back a little, but next week's supposed to be the last week of ferts before flush anyway. Defoliated yellow leaves and accidentaly cut off a small branch, that I'll dry and try to smoke. The smell of skittlez just gets stronger and stronger, very sweet strain. Still not stinking up my garden though, which is great! A tip for the outdoor grower: buy Cestrum nocturnum. Mine started flowering and my garden smells like perfume every night, it's one of the strongest scented plants there are (probably loses to Sour Diesel 😂). Thank you for visiting and see you next week! Roughly 3 weeks before harvest 💪

Some plants stay green all the way to harvest while others can develop a lot of yellow. I even have some tomatoes that will continue producing fruit late in the season after most of the leaves have fallen. A plant's number 1 goal in life is to live long enough to reproduce. Everything supports that goal so a plant will put their last bit of energy into producing flowers/seeds even to the detriment of the plant itself.

Perfect week!!! It's no loger cold, nor too hot (despite nice UVs for the trichomes), and dry. Absolutely no clouds for the past 7 days, a beautiful sky 🤩 as a result she grew A LOT. Probably tripled the weight of the buds, most of them are falling under their own weight. I got the nutrient burn sorted and I will no longer give ferts, only 3 liters of plain water every 2 days. This seedbank and strain are A+, she's filled with trichomes! Also very very fast, I don't know if she'll take another 2 full weeks, most trichs are already milky, only very few clear left. I can't wait to harvest my frosty queen! 🖤

Ladies and gentlemen, we are now entering the last week of flowering and finishing her 6th month alive! I got attached to her, will be difficult saying goodbye, BUT, these juicy buds are so worth it. I've been flushing her with 3 liters of water every 2 days, and despite one cloudy day the sun appeared most of the time. I hope she gets a little fatter this last week. The smell is incredible. Strong enough to notice when you're near, but not strong enough my neighbors will get it, perfect! I assume in a tent she'd be stinking everything up with her sweet, sweet smell. I can only imagine how her kief will be 🤩 Thanks for visiting and see you next week for one final update!

The cold would do it, anything below 15C starts to affect the plant and stunt it's growth. Purple can be caused by many things and temperature is one of them. Also genetics play a major role., Cold temperatures will hinder the plants ability to uptake/process potassium so the leaves start showing sign's of a deficiency. But the soil has enough in it, The plant was unable to use it so no action is needed. Happy Growing

I was going to chop her today but we had 3 absolutely clouded days this week. Every day in the sun makes her fatten up a lot, so I'll wait another 3 days. I thought there was no way she could get purple but she proved me wrong! The cold probably made me lose a few grams because it causes deficiencies but she's gorgeous! Trichomes are already milky and starting to turn a little amber. I'll update the harvest report after they're dry, probably in 10 - 14 days from now. The smell turned a little citrus like, but still sweet. A complete delight. Thank you for visiting and see you soon for the harvest!

Happy Harvest Day!

The high is pretty great, makes me want to do things amd very energetic. The smell is amazing, a mix of sweet, sour and cheese! I can definitely smell the cheese, a mushroom like smell. Gave me a little anxiety though. Growing was great. She faced many adversities and survived them all, great for begginers like me. No pests, no mold.

Hi everyone!! First of all I want to thank everyone who followed up on this diary. It was an amazing experience to grow weed on my own, along with a small jungle I tend. The buds are incredible! My house was stinking up for days after the harvest. The taste is also something else, very strong and lasts until the end of the joint. Powerful strain. She got very purple towards the end, so nothing would be better than mixing pink berry flavoured chocolate (Ruby chocolate, look it up, it's naturally pink and sour) with some trims and put together a skull shaped truffle filled with infused chocolate and Jabuticaba (local fruit) jam. Sooooo good! I do have one complain though, I only got 35 grams out of it and I don't quite understand why...I did most things right, but still disappointing results. If someone knows what I did wrong, I'd appreciate the feedback. Anyway, see you again in future diaries!!

@KingSalomonsWeed, I don't mind waiting, I was just afraid too many trichomes would turn amber if I took too long. Thank a lot for the tip, I'll let her ride the two weeks!

Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago

amazongrowcommented3 years ago

@KingSalomonsWeed, the ground is not that much of a problem, but if it rains on the last weeks of flowering and you can't protect the buds, mold can take hold and destroy a lot. Luckily we don't have much rain on fall and winter.

@cricri, it's a shame we have one of the worst cannabis laws in the world, yet one of the best climates for it. I can grow all year round. Good luck when it warms up up there 🙃

Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
amazongrow
amazongrowcommented3 years ago

@Tropicalstorm, ah ok, @ least good smoke. Very fine.
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
@KingSalomonsWeed, well I can't get more than that, but it was close to 10 hours. The days are shorter here now in winter. 10g wouldn't have made that much difference, I'm still a little confused...oh well, at least it's good smoke
KingSalomonsWeed
KingSalomonsWeedcommented3 years ago

dont take thatt much leaves during vegetation.. she will need it to grow in the beginning of the flowering... take small branches, not big leaves, at least try to. you have to know where to cut. you get that in time... just be careful not to take her out of the growing flow... =] when you cut all fan leaves, she will stop growing toppings and put her energy back into growing fan leaves! they are neeeded so muuch! but I like the green in the leaves.. looks like you got your hand right for the ferts now! congrats! I would not take more leaves until around day 21 in flower!

@Tropicalstorm, you have a nice week too, bro!
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
@amazongrow, that makes a lot of sense! Thanks and have a nice week bro
amazongrow
amazongrowcommented3 years ago
@Tropicalstorm, The leaves need sun. Not the topping. The larger the leaf is, the greater is the area she can absord the energy from the light. Toppings = small area. Fan leaves = largest area. Good luck and happy growing!

@Tropicalstorm,thanks pal will be using this for the more sativa genetics and yea the more time u put in the more you get out keep it up bro respect
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
@smoker420, thanks mate! I'd say be very patient and make a loooot of ties for LST, after topping (I only did it once). Every new shoot you tie down, until the last 2 weeks before flowering, keeping an even canopy. I literally sat down in front of her and spent a lot of minutes tying them all down. If you have less than 12 hours of sun every day you can keep her in veg by using a common household LED with at least 10W after sunset. Any other questions feel free to ask!
amazongrow
amazongrowcommentedweek 163 years ago
strange but efficient shape. same height for all canopy. maybe two more weeks and then blooom? =)
amazongrow
amazongrowcommented3 years ago
@Tropicalstorm, its kinda ok. Wait to the branches get at least 3 nodes each and the you can go to flower.
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
@amazongrow, why 2 weeks? I sorta lost control of things up there, my only goal has been bending to even the canopy, since I have no idea what I'm doing 😂

amazongrow
amazongrowcommented3 years ago
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago

- "If someone knows what I did wrong, I'd appreciate the feedback." I can't exactly say it but that is what I would guess upon: 1) Limited by pot size, despite growing outdoors 2) Lots of problems in the vegetation (including too much nutrients, right?) 3) Not enough light 4) No regular light schedule 5) Plant seemed to be more of the sativa type, which would require more weeks of flowering. 6) When mainlining or spreading the plant like you did, you have to wait for her to get a little tall (like 3 branches or more) before flowering... at least most of the times (can't tell how you did it here, just remembered this fact) 7) Harvested too early, the last weeks are the ones they would gain lots of weight and ripeness Oh, there is another factor which is very important: genectis. Some do good, others not so much. A good formula would be: - Good Genetics aimed at Heavy Harvests, A Good Start, Healthy and Long Vegetation, proper pot size according to what you expect to harvest, good nutrients, proper lighting and PATIENCE. Climate helps but it can be managed. But hey, she did look great and the buds most feel amazing... congratulations!
Tropicalstorm
Tropicalstormcommented3 years ago
@amazongrow, thanks!
