I was selected to test some of Fastbuds new genetics. Seeds germinated and 4 days later it broke ground and is looking great.
This grow is in my 4x4ft grow space located in an uninsulated shed. Each plant has a dedicated 150-200w LED from Viparspectra or Mars. Winter Temps in my area spike to -15C or more in Jan and Feb, so this will be an interesting and challenging grow. The grow room is 20-30C above ambient temperature, so there is a little manual and auto manipulation of grow Temps. See my video
Lights 50-75%, 30 inches, 75-120w per plant
Soil temp: 21-25C
Light cycle: 5:1
Air temp: 18-27C

Used humidity dome during this week to help seedling establish. Lights started at 50% and are now 75% power hung at 30 inches.
I am using a living soil and inorganic nutrient regime. The living soil is established and maintained with NPK RAW Bloom Micros, Kelp and Cane Molasses bi-weekly. I used NPK regime before establishing seeds in soils and start of week 1.
This grow will use a 5:1 light schedule instead of 20:4. I am growing in an uninsulated shed where temperatures can reach -15 C (5 F). A shorter dark period will reduce the chance that temperatures spike below 17C for long periods. This will also shorten the time that a 600W heater needs to kick in.
My exhaust is recirculating air to keep room warm, so I set up a simple fermenting bucket to help keep CO2 levels up. Might not do much, but there you go.
In short, I will test a more truncated light cycle and push the limits of my grow room in a below freezing shed without vastly increasing energy consumption with heating during the dark period.
Let's see what happens.
So 2207 has almost caught 2208 in size despite being quite a bit younger. This plant is 17 days old from seed vs the 25 days for 2208...
Pictures are 17 days after seeds started and seem to be doing great. I used a very weak foliar spray of Flora Grow and a weak feeding to get them started. I have my lights set to 75% power and I am misting daily.
Happy so far
@Fast_Buds genetics test
Pictures are day 24.
Pre-flowers are showing and gave her a little nutrients and a light foliar spray this week. I changed air circulation last week to try and better circulate air evenly, so maybe it will take off a bit. It has caught up to FBT2208 and this may be differences in genetics or slightly better soil and air Temps in 2207

This week I focused on LST and some mild defoliation. I have gotten excellent canopy spacing for FBT2208, 2203 and 2205. Still some work for 2207, but this plant is a few days behind the other three so might fill out the pot at any point.
This plant has been developing slower than FBT2203 and 2205. I think this is genetic differences and has a lot to do with cooler air and soil Temps at the front of the tent. Amazing how much 1 or 2 degrees can have on growth rates. FBT2207 has caught up to 2208 and growth rates have taken off since I made adjustments to keep soil Temps above 15C.
The floor of this shed is not insulated and it shows.

I am a little late updating this diary. FBT2207 and 2208 have really started stretching out. I finished my LST this week and started light defoliation to increase air flow within the canopy.
This has been a super challenging week. Outside Temps fluctuated between 8C to -15C, which means the shed grow room was between 15 and 30C. I have been constantly adjusting exhaust and decided to put it on a 15 min on/off cycle to balance between high humidity and reasonable Temps. I also installed a dehumidifier to help.

FBT2207 and 2207 certainly picked it up this week. 2207 actually is as tall as 2203 and2205 and seems to be stacking calyx faster than 2205, which I now believe is a sativa heavy strain. 2203 should be done in a few weeks, but 2207 and 2208 will need a bit more time and who knows with 2205.

Pretty good week. No real issues. Decided to defoliate fairly heavily, but still less than your diligent defoliating expert. I am hoping that they really start packing on some weight and I plan on ramping up the Bloom nutes to finish this grow off.

I decided to defoliate this plant a bit and take off any side branches that were not getting any light. It is starting to stack up and pushing out a bunch of new pistils. There is discolouration appearing in the leaves. Some are turning light green, some are taking on purple and brown colouration. I have been finding hard to diagnose these plants and I think in the end I may have been getting some light burn in the upper canopy. This is most apparent in the FBT2203 grow. Lights are at least 14 inches away and I recently dialed them back to about 75% power and not exceeding 1000umol. Closer to 800 umol/s for this plant. I had them maxed throughout much of Jan and Feb to keep the room Temps above 15 Celsius in my uninsulated shed.

So, the upper canopy has taken on alot of yellow. I suspect that I may have over fed P and K, which may also have caused a pH problem, while some other people have indicated that I under fed. I gave 8 litres of clean water near the beginning of this week and removed the run off and gave another 4 litres 2 days after. Since then new pistils have emerged so I suspect the plant was being locked out. At least 1 more week to finish FBT2207 and 2208 off.
Well, a few new pistils and a good number of amber trichomes so I decided to cut these down. I was happy with this grow and look forward to trying these seeds again.
