I began germination of critical purple in wet paper towels soaked then squeezed of excess water.
I then play the paper towel into a Ziploc bag and put it in the closet where my router is which makes it fairly warm,
I then set a timer for 24 hours and I check to see if the seeds have popped.
This go around I got 100% germination :)
All plants are doing great I have begun LST training them using u shaped plant stakes.
I am turning the lights up a little bit this week as they seem ready for a bit more intensity.
The plants are all doing amazing, wonderful vigourous growth in all but one plant.
These ladies have very thick stems already and are taking in and holding nutrients well.
I am excited to see what they do in flower.
I will put the scrog net in soon and trim any of the branches that wont reach the screen in the next couple weeks.
This is the second week of flower
All plants have trained well into the scrog and showed pistils after only 6 days from the switch from 18 to 12/12
The buds that are forming already are pretty amazing the size of the buds already has got me excited.
This is the 4th week of flower and Wow the buds are just nuts on these plants.
I am also seeing 3 distinct phenotypes, 3 matching phenotypes and 1 runt.
One plant is already gooey with resin and it smells very strongly of Pineapple, and fruit it makes me think of Tahitian treat that soda from back in the day. That plant is also tinged with pink, but the bud structure is very sativa like with long spindly sugar leaves. All the bud sitesa re close together and the plant is so sticky you cannot touch it without having to use hand sanitizer to get the stickiness off.
Another Plant has massive white frosty looking buds, they are pine cone shaped and huge, but the smell from this plant and the resin are nothing like the pink one.
3 of the plants are showing purple, one of them a much lighter purple or pink.
It is really neat seeing these lovely ladies progress.
This is the 5th week of flower and theses plants have larger buds now then many plants I have grown at 8 weeks.
I am astounded by how well they are doing.
The temps have gotten a bit colder at night then I would like but they have not seemed to be bothered by it other than maybe getting a bit stickier.
I am beginning to wonder if I can make it 9 weeks with these buds as they seem to be fattening up as fast as they do in the last 2 weeks.
Good thing I have a scrog net or the branches would be sagging.
The stems are thick and the roots are sucking up 1.5 gallons every 2 and a half days now.
I am thinking about eliminating the one runt plant as the buds on it are tiny and it is just taking up scrog space that could be used to get more light to the plants that are developing the huge buds.
This is the 6th week of flower
I am loving these plants and it is going to be hard to pick one mother from the group. I may have to keep a couple of the clones I took before I placed theses into flower as mothers.
The different phenotypes all seem to offer something to the table it will really come down to the smoke and cure I think.
I have had no issues with nutrient deficiency or the like and the plants are showing the autumn colors now as they have reached the super soil layer by this point I will taper off on the food a bit.
All plants are getting very dense now and the room smells very fruity.
There is a wide range of colors on the leaves and in the buds themselves from a light pink to darker purple and orange.
The trichomes are showing some amber under the microscope but are not ready for harvest quote yet. Likely one more full week at least.
I am very pleased with the size of the buds on almost all the plants.
Some of the plants smell like pineapple, one smells like bananas, 2 hardly have any smell at all, and two are massive and frosty white with some purple hues.
I think they really liked my super soil mix and the nutrient combo this go around.
I used 2L more perlite in each container and I think that the increased drainage helped some.
Critical purple kush is such an amazing plant. I got some great phenotypes from this batch. I have placed 5 of then into veg as mother's.
I am astounded by the size of the buds on many of these plants. They are easily the largest I have ever grown. The smell if amazing like pineapples and fruit salad, the colors are phenomenal and show orange deep red pink purple green and more.
I used super soil and they seemed to love it. I am very excited about my next round of purple kush because this one was so great.
A few of these mother's will certainly be in my grow room for years to come.
